Oh wow what an experience! My boyfriend booked the candle making class for us for valentines and it was everything I never knew I wanted. All the employees were very knowledgeable and the selection and choices were great. I heard the non valentine classes have event more selection options, which may add more value. I can't wait to try the perfume making class!

My fiance booked us the Valentine's Day package, which included making a candle/wax melts, a small bottle of wine, and a charcuterie board. We arrived for our 7:30 reservation and were greeted and seated. I was given a complimentary rose, which was a nice touch. The interior is modern and stylish We sat at the bar with 4 other couples, and others sat at small tables. The workers were all super friendly and patient. They thoroughly explained the process and gave us tips on how to make sure our candles burn nice and evenly. The process consisted of picking the vessel for our candle, picking scents, mixing them together, finalizing the smell, and finally pouring the candle. There was a charcuterie table for us to graze at and a small bottle of wine at our table. I can't emphasize enough that the workers truly make this a wonderful experience. You can tell that they are well educated on candle making, and are very friendly. Overall, I would recommend this for a date night or friends night. They even accommodate large gatherings!

Fruit platter with our group experience

Such a fun experience and the options are endless! I have been here twice now in groups. The Experience: The experience starts with picking a vessel for your candle and getting it set up with a wick. After setting it up, the staff guide you in smelling the scents off of their "menu" and you mark the scents you like. Once you smell your way through the menu, the super sweet and friendly staff will guide you in creating a unique scent combination and pour your own candle! These are quite literally the highest quality candles I have owned and they hold a long candle life. The discounted refill cost is worth it! If you are coming in a group, I really enjoyed opting to have a fruit platter add on to have as a nice snack.

Words cannot describe how happy I am with the candle making experience I had at Ashy Aromas as a girls night with a couple of friends. Booked the basic candle making experience but upgraded while we were there because we wanted wine and fancier candle vessels. The variety and number of scents is astounding and, at times, overwhelming but Lindsey and Mr. Aromas himself (iykyk) made the experience educational, fun, and full of laughter while helping us create candles that were unique and perfect to our individual likes. Given that you leave with a custom candle and a memorable experience, I think the pricing is such a great value. We're all planning to go back to make signature scents with our partners!

Ashy Aromas is absolutely amazing!!!! It's beautiful space, the hosts were great and knowledgeable about the fragrances provided! I enjoyed the process of making my own signature candle. Overall it was a 10/10

VERY FUN CANDLE MAKING ACTIVITY!! It was fun being able to pick scents and design a candle from scratch. I definitely recommend this activity. It cost me $54.68 for a standard black tin vessel. The person who helped us was very friendly and helpful in guiding us towards a better scent selection.

I've always wanted to celebrate my birthday by doing something creative and fun, so for my 30th birthday, I booked a candle making class for me and my close friends! Ashton was our instructor for the day, and he made our experience so enjoyable, fun and we learned a lot about the whole process; from scent blending, temperature, and of course, safety! Really excited to give support to another Black-owned business in the San Jose area. Thank you for a memorable experience. :) We will definitely return to try out their perfume making class.

Loved my experience there! I had a mom and daughter date set up one Friday night and it was just the two of us and another pair, so it was an intimate experience. I loved the vibe of it all, from the 90's r&b music playing in the background, to the engaging session of how to make the candles. So easy and it wasn't stressful at all. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun date night or group activity!

Dnt think about it come in and have a good time .. highly recommend.. me and my cousins day. We had so much fun experience worth every penny And this is Black owned company.. Me and my cousins came In on Sunday. My cousin made the reservation. This location is in down town San Jose .. metered parking is available but because it was the week we all paid for parking no big deal.. we walked in and was seated in the front at the bar. Who ever chose the decor for the shop did a good job..definitely can get some good photos .the music set a good chill vibe.while waiting for everyone to show up we were offered a glass of white or red wine and a Italian soda for my cousin who doesn't drink.. th their is also options to add cheese and meat boards as well.. we made our own candles whew this was so much fun.. it's a good experience with lots of education as well. It was a couple making a body perfume.. I'm a member now so I'm definitely come back for another class or for my refills .u can also purchase some of the in house candle as well.. I have a list of candles.i dnt even wanna tell y'all the sent I got just it's already a best seller..lol this place is good for dates or groups events .. since we live so far we came back to pick up our candles.. I bought me a few things yo take care of my candles and bought a in house sent. ..the staff is amazing nice very kind people.. I'll make another review once I burn my candle oh and it came with a few candle melts. Pick the package that works for u and have fun u won't regret it.. your favorite TA side note one thing I did love was seeing was a Indian family having a good time even grandma was enjoying herself..

Mom smelling the aroma of the candle scent she created.

Ashton, Lindsey, Shawn and Brandon made our Mother's Day experience one to remember!!! Ashy Aromas is everything you want in an experience...fun, memorable, the ambiance is amazing, the aesthetic is beautiful and the service is top tier!!! I will definitely going back!!! It's an experience you can enjoy with your partner, friends, family, kids and even coworkers as a team building activity! You gotta experience it for yourself though!

We booked Ashy Aromas' private group session and we got really late to their shop (45 mins late from our booked session due to combo of traffic and can't find parking) but Ashton (owner) and Brandon (the co-Staff) greeted us with the biggest smile and assured us that it's ok as we are their last group of the day. Everything was very well planned, from the instructions to the experience! Everyone in our group really enjoyed this event and each person got their own customized unique scent candle (and extra refill cubes) to go home with that evening. Highly recommended for anyone who is looking for a candle making experience or looking for group event activities!

Came here tonight with a friend and we really enjoyed the whole experience. The current location is tucked away inside San Pedro Market Square but they will be moving to a bigger space. Very cozy inside and well decorated. The hosts Ashton and Brian were both extremely kind, and you can tell they enjoy what they do. Experiences like this are always nicer when its behind passionate people. Love that they have 3 different options/price points depending on what you're looking to do. My friend wanted to do something relaxing to wind down so we went with the Candle Lovers option which comes with a glass of wine. Ashton and Brian explained the whole process and basically collaborate with you. We enjoyed picking out different scent profiles while Brian made recommendations and pairings for us. I'm excited to pick up my candle tomorrow! Definitely a perfect date night spot, or a place for besties :)

When you arrive, the staff are super welcoming and walk you through the candle-making process step by step. It's beginner-friendly, so even if you've never done anything like this before, it's easy to follow along. There are tons of scents to choose from and you can mix and match a few to make something unique, or pick one signature scent you love. You also get to control how strong or subtle the fragrance is, which is a nice personal touch. The space itself is clean, well-organized, and smells amazing! Would not have gone in had I not called ahead and found out that they had exactly what I needed. Good service. Had what I needed. Will go back. Longer version... So I'm on a mad search for some copal to burn in place of frnakinsense and myrrh to show the kids of my church something close to what the mythical magi brought to baby Jesus. It has to be real copal (or real fankinsence/myrrh) as I'm allergic to chemical scenting agents. I look all over the internet and find web based stores, but no brick & mortars in the south bay and I need it in 2 days. I put out two different talk threads on yelp to try to get some advice, but hors go by with no response...So I begin calling around to stores I see on the web, but who don't have internet sites. I call a couple who do not have copal and then hit Santa Josefina. So I get into my car and take the 15 mile treck from work to this store. I drove past it once because there is no outside sign saying "Santa Josefina," and there is no address printed on the building. On my second pass I deduced that since the building on one side was two numbers higher and the one of the other side 2 numbers lower that this must be it. I found parking a block away and as I approached I knew I was in the right place. I saw every order of Catholic Saint and ritual items. The sales clerk (owner?) was sitting somewhat in the back of the store. I told her that I need copal and she says, "Oh, yes." Then I notice that she has frankincense and myrrh. So I buy all three. She kindly tells me that she has sage, too, which is good for smuding at the New Year, but I tell her I have some at home. I ask if she'll take a check and she says, charmingly, "As long as it won't bounce. I stopped taking checks for a while, you know how it is." I assured her that it won't bounce. The neghborhood and store have lots of things that typical WASPY protestants (as I can seem) would not recognize and might make some less open people uncomfortable. But she was the nicest person and very helpful. She was happy that she had what I needed and said she looks forward to seeing me again. This may very well become a regular place for me to seek out ritual items. And the cross-cultural experience makes it that much more charming to me.
