We arrived sans reservation, but were whisked straight into the courtyard -- arguably the best seat in the house on a pleasant Louisiana evening. Between the soft night air and the glow of the courtyard, the atmosphere alone deserved applause. The cocktails arrived first and immediately set a dangerously high standard: beautifully crafted, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drinks that make you consider canceling your plans afterward. Fortunately, the food rose to the occasion. The edamame and roasted Brussels sprouts disappeared with alarming speed, and the Amelie Salad was a standout -- generously portioned, fresh, vibrant, and substantial enough to be an entrée or ideal for sharing if you're pretending to be civilized. A special nod to Liz, who elevated the entire experience with spot-on recommendations, warm hospitality, and the rare ability to be both attentive and effortlessly relaxed. In a city famous for memorable dining, this meal still managed to feel special -- equal parts elegant, welcoming, and unmistakably New Orleans.

The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

Our server, Christopher, was very attentive, suggested wine pairings, and gave us great recommendations. We started with the charbroiled oysters which is a must. They were large and charred to perfection on the outside grill, topped with parm and breadcrumbs. My friends ordered the filet and the gulf fish, and I had the charred cabbage entree, with a French gerwurztraminer blend. The mushrooms with the blue cheese sauce were so rich and delicious! Sweet treats were a no brainer. The blue cheese flan was creamy and decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. This is so far my fave restaurant in New Orleans. It's an honest, no BS creole inspired cuisine. 100% coming back soon!

And yet again, I am so thankful for Yelp steering me in the right direction yet again! A short Uber from the French Quarter brought us to what I believe is such a special hidden gem! The moment you step into Atchafalaya, you realize it. Ambience is amazing, quirky, cool, homey and cozy. Staff is amazing. We sat in our own private room and were treated to a very special delight of a dinner. I tried the incredible fried green tomatoes, the seafood soup (?) and the incredible steak...wow, everything was amazing. And not only did Chef Christopher Lynch come out to say hello to my Autistic son but the owner Tony Tocco did as well and it made his day! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

If you come to New Orleans, this is one of those restaurants that you must visit. But, do not show…read moreup here unless you have a reservation. Reservations are a must! From the moment you walk into this restaurant you step into the old school. Not only in atmosphere, but in service. That's one of the great things about this restaurant. They have so much staff on hand, that takes care of you so relentlessly, that it is actually hard to believe. You will have several staff members catering to you throughout your entire meal. This cannot be emphasized enough as one of the main selling points of visiting this restaurant. As is the case with most customers, when they are seated, they enjoy a pre-dinner drink. This is the case with myself, as well. The one thing I will say about this restaurant is that if you want to order a bottle of wine, you will have to ask for the wine list. This is both a great boon and a detriment. This is due to the fact that this restaurant has one of the largest wine lists I have ever encountered in any country, anywhere on the planet. It is massive! It is page after page of wines that you can choose from from all over the world. For me, someone who has a very good knowledge of wine, many of the wines they offer I have never even heard of it. This is both a good and a bad thing. Good, because you can experience something new. Bad, because you do not know which wine bottle to choose from. Of course, their staff will attempt to provide their services in helping with your choice; whether asked for or not. But, I always find this style of service tends to be a little bit biased. Me, I always like to choose my own bottle of wine. Meaning, this may take you a little bit of time to accomplish. Beyond the wine, their menu is fairly limited. You basically have a few choices to choose from. All of which are good, depending on your pallet. The meals they prepare are all Louisiana-influenced dishes, so this is a great thing. You're entering into a very exclusive restaurant, that offers Cajun style dishes. It can be a great experience. Overall, the main thing to keep in mind, at this establishment, is that the staff will never leave you alone, even for a couple of minutes. They take care of you at a level that has been lost through time. It is really extensive! I cannot emphasize this enough. A fun note here: The last time my wife and I ate at this restaurant, we were unintentionally exited down through the kitchen. Personally, I thought this was some sort of mistake. But, one of the staff members happily said, "Say hi to the chef." The moment we entered the kitchen, the head chef greeted us with the biggest smile. Thus, not only is this a highly functional restaurant, it is truly supportive and friendly. Overall, if you're in New Orleans, this restaurant is a must experience. If not just for the staff that does their job with extraordinary excellence, but for the food, and the overall experience.

Food was pretty good - cauliflower hummus is incredible! The steak is delicious but the swamp fish is just okay. I'd go with the steak. Definitely worth the experience!

Long rainy but fabulous day at JazzFest left us in a hungry mood for more of that great stuff that Nola serves up best. My friend started with an Old Fashioned that she very much enjoyed which I know because she got it refreshed. I ordered the Rougaroux which was too good and refreshing so I nursed it through the meal as this cocktail went down too easy and I'm a lightweight and cheap date so I know my limit. We had an excellent server who recommended we order the BBQ Pork Belly with our 1/2 dozen Louisiana select oysters. I would have loved the char grilled but I'm gluten intolerant and they use flour and I can't go for that. I hope Daryl Hall doesn't sue me. We split the 6 oysters and they were ginormous, tender and sweet. With the side fixings of cocktail sauce and mignonette (also horseradish but I'm not a fan of this condiment as I feel sorry for the horse), we were in oyster heaven and my friend is relatively new to the raw oyster game really enjoyed these delights. Next came the BBQ pork Belly with Honey Crystal hot sauce glaze, andouille and tasso mach choux, creamy mash potatoes, fried okra, pickled red onion. This was one of the best pork bellies I've ever had because it was so meaty, perfectly prepared with just the right small amount of fat keeping it tender and the glaze with the mach choux and creamy mash potatoes was so good we easily could have thrown in the towel and screamed No Mas. We didn't so wait, there is more. We split the Lamb Chops two ways, one a lamb chop with an excellent Chimichurri Sauce and a lamb sausage. I thank the Mary Poppins films for introducing the world the Chimichurri sauce. The lamb chop was excellent while the lamb sausage was good, very lamby and a bit too salty. Rougaroux Flor de Cana white rum, Bayou Spice Rum ,blood orange sour, black cherry syrup, Regan's Orange bitters Louisiana "Select" Raw Oysters With horseradish, cocktail sauce and toasted filé mignonette Half-Dozen BBQ Pork Belly Honey Crystal hot sauce glaze, andouille and tasso mach choux, creamy mash potatoes, fried okra, pickled red onion Lamb Two Ways 2 Lamb loin chops and Lamb sausage grilled and served on a sizzling plate with Chimichurri, asparagus, roasted fingerling potatoes This joint inside is comfortable with the look of an unfinished warehouse but not in a bad way at all. Booths surround the exterior in the one large dining area, nice bar and a smoky aroma that enhances the taste buds without causing one to run out to safety. All in all, another great meal in a city with the best food in the US of A.
