One of the best po-boy cafes on the coast.
    Kim N.

We come here for fresh poboys. My favorite here is usually the roast beef that is smothered in gravy. I decided to try the catfish recipe poboy this time and had a few bites of the Cuban and the shrimp one. All were delicious. Love the bread, perfectly toasted. Service here is quick and everything is served piping hot. The staff behind the counter is grabbing drinks as you're placing your order. So you have your drink in hand as you're walking away from the counter, while waiting for fresh food to be prepared. It's super casual with lots of benches and wooden picnic style tables.I've never had trouble finding parking. But the downside is when you're leaving the lot, if there was a train that passed, traffic might be backed up so take your time leaving the lot.

Roast beef po boy. They do not mess around!

I am glad that we came to try Pirates Cove since so many had recommended it. My husband ordered two po boys- their sweet heat brisket and a small fried shrimp. I was on a mission to try their roast beef. Absolute deliciousness! It was messy as a great po boy should be. I had a side of gravy for it and to dip our fries. This gravy was so rich and the perfect compliment for the roast beef. My husband devoured the brisket so I knew that it was a hit. He is a fried shrimp fanatic but wasn't too crazy about the shrimp. He said that it needed some seasoning in the batter. He loved their fries with the gravy. I now crave that roast beef po boy quite a bit. It's a short drive away from us and I am extremely grateful for that!

My Husband ordered a buffalo shrimp po boy that my son and I tried to eat for ourselves. My cheeseburger was a decent size. I didn't care for the fries, they were fried twice, but that's not my preference. Both children had fried shrimp baskets, decent portions. Establishment was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was good, just nothing we would drive from our home of an hour away.

Roast Beef, and some wet lettuce.

For many years, I have rated the PC Roast Beef Po-Boy as Super, Superb. But today, it was the WORST Beef and was too chewy and hard to digest. Interestingly, for a Saturday, there were not many folks there. My famous last words are: I SHALL NOT Return!

I grew up down the street and this place is a must visit every time I come home. I'm not sure when they added the catfish plate back but so happy to see it. One of my favorites besides the burger and shrimp poboy.

We dined in with a group of five at Pirate's Cove on Saturday afternoon about an hour before they closed. The service was awesome, the food was affordable and it tasted good. They do close at 4 PM, so you want to arrive for lunch to give them a shot. Everyone liked their food. My son had the hamburger (single) with all toppings and french fries. I ordered a 1/2 size (6 inch) po boy with fried oyster and fried shrimp with alll toppings and fries. My husband and mother in law had the chicken tender po boy sub (whole & split it). The half subs were a great size. Their tap water did not have an after taste. My brother in law ordered the same sandwich as me and his gf ordered the shrimp po boy! There were no complaints about the food, portions or taste. They even had bluebell ice cream cones available and shakes. The icing on the cake for my son was the mini arcade room, where he got to play a few games while we waited for our food to come out. This is a must have if you are in the area or even neighboring cities like Gulfport or Long Beach. We will be back!

I happened to be in Pass Christian , Mississippi on some business and had a few hours so we decided to have a couple of Po Boy sandwiches. I had a large Shrimp Po Boy full dressed and my friend had their large Cheeseburger Po Boy . We had an order of Fries and Onion Rings . The sandwiches were great. My Po Boy was loaded with Shrimp. dressed with lettuce , pickle, tomatoes, along with a simple Mayo . The fries were coated crunchy and tasted great. My onion rings were cooked perfectly and weren't at all greasy. I would definitely come here again. Compared to other places in the area, their prices were fair. Next time, I'm going for the Roast Beef Po Boy. It looked delicious too

Best roast beef po-boy on the coast. Have been coming here my whole life and nothing will ever top it!

Overpriced- sub-average food. Can get better food at same price down the road. I will say it was clean.

I passed by this place twice this week while doing Cruising The Coast: I thought to myself, look that up on Yelp and see what's up. So I did just that and found 5 star reviews. That was enough to have me sold but when I read it was locally owned by a US Military Veteran, well that was enough for me. We came in and were greeted by the friendly owner. We had a seat and you have to go to the bar to look at a menu. I perused the pizzas since that is what was highly recommended on Yelp. Went with the Supreme and a couple Cokes for my dad and me. The pizza arrived as ordered, half without peppers and onions and we dug in. What a delicious pie. Crispy crust, gooey cheese and flavorful toppings and a crunchy crust: it checks all the boxes for a great pizza. My nephew had the alligator sausage pizza and that too was delicious. While the place doesn't look like much from the road, that's just how I like it. Unassuming with delicious food. The place was clean, the music was great, the television history shows were great (Body by Fisher video was outstanding). The bathrooms were clean and well lit and overall the place was great. We will definitely hit this place again when we are back for CTC. It's on the must dine list for sure.

The onion rings are hand battered and only complain it wish it came with more. We came right before a rush and it seemed like only on person was running the front (cashier and waiting). The service was really friendly and my food came out very quickly. Prices were reasonable and I didn't see a hugely extensive menu tho several of the burgers were unique without being outstandingly weird or out in left field. One thing I am DEFINITELY taking off a star for is charging a 3% surcharge to the customer to offset using a debit or credit card. I own a small business and I 100% feel like this is a cost of doing business and not something to pass on to the consumer. Or, if you're going to charge that kind of surcharge, let there be a purchase minimum, say 5 to $10. It annoys me when businesses do this. It seems needlessly "penny-pinchy" and if you're going to accept credit cards and debit cards for the convenience of the customer, that is what you accept as a business owner. My business accepts this as it cost to doing business, I absolutely feel like this is the cost of doing business by the owner, and I will die on this hill. That aside, the food was really good. Fries were hot and crispy and the burger fresh and juicy. Highly recommend and I'd pay with cash, like I did to avoid the "customer convenience fee" which is anything but convenient!

We were scraping the plates clean because everything was so good. This is located right on the beach across from the harbor in Long Beach, in an elevated building that has been a few other restaurants over the years. About 3/4 of it is inside seating with a smaller porch/balcony outdoor part that is also air conditioned when they close all the doors. For starters, we got a dozen grilled oysters that had this excellent garlic butter sauce and cheese added. They were average size as you can expect but much better than what we've gotten from Half Shell the past few times we went. We also got the fried alligator bites which were more tender than any gator I've ever had before, and came with an excellent dipping sauce. I ordered the seafood platter for my meal and couldn't finish it. On top of a large bed of french fries were a bunch of shrimp, oysters, hush puppies, and one large catfish filet that was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the Taste of Acadiana which came with three different cajun staples including gumbo and jambalaya. I sampled some of hers and really liked them all. We went on a Friday night and it wasn't all that busy, but our service was good and they kept our drinks filled. I can't wait to go back!

It is so well done for a smaller dining room, from the tiling on the bar, the beautiful collection of cutting boards on the wall, the lovely artsy painted radish & the jars of house made pickled vegetables lining the front windows. Our server, Lisa was extremely welcoming, as she was quite joyously making table arrangements of lovely flowers when we arrived. We perused the menu & I chose the lavender haze mocktail for a drink & the crab beignets for an appetizer. Both were equally beautiful and delicious. My mocktail was well balanced and would have made a delicious cocktail had I been in the mood. For lunch I decided on the beet and burrata salad and my sweetie had the catfish sandwich. My beet & burrata salad really hit the spot after the rich yet delicate crab beignets. The catfish sandwich was extremely tasty with the perfectly balanced house made pickles and "Caesar" dressing as the sauce. Their fries were perfectly fried as well. I made a stop in the restroom and adored the radish wallpaper & pictures, and I commented that the bathroom smelled like fresh baked brioche -- which Lisa said it was the bakery next door, Dolce' (which is owned by the chef's wife). She talked up the king cakes so much I had to go get one before our lunch even arrived (since there were very few "extra" king cakes left I am so glad I did!) All in all it was everything I hoped for and I wanted to try SO many things on the menu. I can't wait to go back. A new Mississippi favorite for sure.
