I grew up in New Haven CT and this pizza is the closest I have found too it. The pizza is amazing and my whole Yankee family and I agree!

My son and I went on a Saturday and walked in right at Noon ... place was already hopping. On a recommendation from an online review, we got the Grandma (and added pepperoni). Crust was fantastic .. just enough crispiness, and the flavor with the basil is on time. Staff is super friendly (including the random singing and whistling coming from the cooks) which makes the experience all that much better. Great food at good value. read more

Seeing the mixed reviews we were hesitant. We were tied of the some old thing, as I think we all are right now, We had our sons get it for us. I am happy with every part if the order. I happened to be visiting Greeneville for a business trip and wanted a good pizza, pasta etc....I grade everything based on Brooklyn quality pizza. Man o man, I wasn't disappointed....my favorite pizza is a grandma slice I get in Brooklyn....I walked in and the place was crowded for lunch but managed to get a table with my buddy....servers were attentive and cordial. I ordered the meatballs, grandma slice ofcoarse and a white pizza....seriously I thought I was back in Brooklyn for a second....the aroma of deliciousness lingered almost like a fine perfume....dough is fresh, quality cheese and toppings. Sauce was great not too acidic and just a touch sweet but not overwhelming....the crust was crispy and thin with a nice char....the white pizza may have been even better .....listen....it's not Brooklyn but very close...hands down Brooklyn quality pizza in Greeneville? I wouldn't believe it if I didn't experience for my self....the meatballs were juicy and flavorful served under sauce and ricotta....delicious!!! Last thing....I like drinking a coke zero with my food and even the fricken fountain coke zero had great carbonation and taste like it was out of the glass bottle from Coca-Cola direct....the owner and pizza maker came over and asked how the food was and if we needed anything....the owner was hospitable and actually sat down with us and we started talking and said we should try some other things and had ordered a pepperoni slice that had small round quality pepperoni with a char...very good...also sent over some egg roll looking dough filled like a Stromboli....excellent. I didn't walk out....I rolled out that place ...lol....if you are in the Greeneville area, definitely check this place out....all around great experience at this mom and pop shop.....highly recommended.....enjoy.... read more

I don't write reviews often but this is the BEST pizza. My brother worked on their refrigeration, and said the people were super nice, the place was clean in the back, and they gave him free pizza. We went to this place after he told us and oh my god. It was so so good. We ordered the Grandma pizza, the Legalize Marinara pasta, and the Pepperoni pizza. Everything tastes so fresh. I love Italian food and most places Italian is just eh. (Usually I feel I can make better pasta at home). But this place definitely lived up to my high expectations, and even exceeded them. Before the Pasta Addict people took over this place it was mediocre at best, but ever since this place has gotten so good!! Pizza is so much fresher tasting and the service is WAY better. I need to review again as they were bought and are now an AMAZING spot to eat not just pizza but mind blowing pasta. I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice ambiance, wonderful service and a simple but delicious menu. Highly recommend their gnocchi and vodka pasta. The pizza is bomb and we always grab a Cesar salad because it is so simple but they manage to make it feel more upscale than the norm. We stop here every chance we get and are always blown away by the consistency and good service. As a former fine dining server I am very picky about restaurants and since moving from Florida we have not always had good experiences with food and service quality but I will keep coming back to the slice for as long as they are open and owned by these great people. First off, they're pawning themselves off like an Italian pizzeria from Brooklyn, which is not the case. They don't know Italian food. Everyone knows the most basic Italian dishes. Their "vodka made me do it" was more of a red sauce and didn't have any chicken in it like their menu describes. Two, they have no clue what gnocchi is. And their "gnocchi" dish was atrocious. This place is a disgrace to Italian food. Please do not base your knowledge of Italian food off of this place. It's 1000x better than what they're serving. read more

My wife and I moved here at the end of July 2020, and have been trying different pizza places since we got here. Tonight, it was A Slice of Brooklyn. We ordered a large 1/2 cheese, 1/2 pepperoni pizza and an order of 10 wings. Pizza was decent. Sauce had a little too much basil for my liking, but a quality crust and baked perfect. The wings. They were the thing that smelled best in the car ride home. Literally couldn't wait to try them. So far, the best wings we've found at a pizza place we're at Anthony's, and these had that same smell, so we were pretty excited about them. Nice, big wings. Looked to be cooked great, and sauced without being over sauced if you know what I mean. However, there were GIANT feathers still on about 4 or 5 of our 10 piece wings. Now I get it. It's wings. Sometimes things get missed. But seriously, these things had multiple wing clusters of about 3-4 wing nubs (on the ones that had them) and roughly an inch and a half to two inches each. Fried, sauced, and sold. We went back up to the restaurant to let them know. My wife is a restaurant manager, and I've been in retail management for over 10 years. Literally just looking to let them know that they are serving sub standard product. Manager got irate, tossed the box pretty aggressively from a customers perspective, and seemed more angry than helpful. I don't write reviews. Best thing I can do is to not shop at that place again. But this was excessive. We were told that that's how they get it from the distributor. Look, it's pandemic. It's a family run business, and as a small business owner, I get it. Times are hard. But to tell me that it is what it is? You're better than that. You wouldn't have started the business with that mindset. If anyone from their management or ownership reads this, you have an opportunity! You're in a great location, with a bar attached! You have a quality product (actual wings looked the best I've seen in simpsonville) All you need to do is provide quality assurance! You get the case of wings. Before you portion it, please clean and defeather them. Then portion, cook, sauce, and serve. And get your management focused on the customer. The guy that had the meltdown did it not only on front of us, but other customers. We were refunded the money, but I would rather have given your restaurant a fair shake and been a regular had the situation and issues been handled appropriately. I am not looking for a coupon, discount, or apology. Just so better. $10.49 for wings. Make it worth it. read more

Really enjoyed the pizza we got here and the guy at the front was super chill. You know exactly what you are getting with this place and it reminded me of when I lived in Jersey. Just tried A Slice of Brooklyn Pizza Cafe it was TERRIBLE!!! Save your money. Toppings are sparse, sauce isn't seasoned well and the crust tastes like cardboard. Don't go hungry. We ordered pizza and wings,to go, and it literally took over 50minutes. We were told, after waiting 45minutes, it was because we ordered wings. Had they told us in the first place, we wouldn't have ordered them. When we were given our order, our pizza was cold and the wings were awful. I couldn't even eat them they were so bad. We will not be going back! Drive the extra distance and go to Bada Bing on Woodruff. Bada Bing is REAL New York Pizza. read more

Went to the restaurant tonight for some pizza, fully willing to accept any of the negative things you may be reading about the previous management, (just so I can have some great pizza) and was delighted to see that the new owner is also the owner of the Pasta Addict I've been frequenting at Greenville Gather for the best, fresh, handmade pasta I've ever had. Spent a minute talking to him about the plans to incorporate what I think everyone would agree was fantastic pizza, with newly arriving fresh pasta menu items. I can't wait to see how the new place shapes up and what wonderful food will be available. If for whatever reason you were put off by previous negative experiences at this establishment, rest assured those experiences are no longer a factor at this restaurant anymore.
