AmaZing cake thank you :)! Our guest absolutely loved the flavors. We had such a great day.

Got my dads birthday cake from here and it was sooooo good! it was definitely more on the pricey side but you get what you pay for- a top notch gourmet cake. Ordered a carrot cake with some custom lettering and she knocked it out of the park. the buttercream icing and cream cheese frosting were both unbelievable- the cream cheese frosting had like a pineapple taste to it. will definitely be getting more cakes from here in the future! i hear she makes vegan cakes too !

Custom graduation cake $150

I needed a custom two-tiered 3D graduation cake for my graduation recently and contacted several places in the Boston area for a quote, including The Sleepy Baker, Sweet Tooth, Yum Bunnies, and Danish Pastry House. We chose The Sleepy Baker for the relatively reasonable price, choice of flavors, and cake design (some places would only do one-tier or 2D. Liz at The Sleepy Baker quoted me $150 for a cake feeding 8 people. She went back and forth with me a few times over email to get all my requirements but was kind of hard to reach and at times I wasn't sure if we were on or off. I had no issues with pickup. The cake looked good from afar but up close had a lot of flaws and imperfections, and lacked finesse. Also I've had much better tasting carrot cake.

Great communication with Liz. The cake was just as I requested ... look at my photos like how cute could this be! Covid distancing, will order from again! Also.. delicious !

a wedding cake with a bride and groom

A talented baker and a patient and kind human! Liz made our wedding cake for our April 2022 wedding, creating a beautiful and delicious three-tiered cake exactly to our design requests. What's more, she created one layer non-dairy to accommodate the groom's dairy allergy while making the other two tiers dairy (so that everyone doesn't have to eat non-dairy!). She met with us early and was always responsive when we had questions or new ideas in the lead up to the wedding. 10/10 would recommend and so glad and grateful that we found The Sleepy Baker.

"Well, I don't need a doctor I don't need a nurse Anything…read moreyou give me babe will only make me worse I need rock therapy" (Stray Cats) You know a chocolate business is serious about their products when they name that business "Chocolate Therapy". Since 2011, they've created hand-made artisanal truffles, bark, and wrapped chocolates just twenty miles west of Boston. We saw them being promoted on a television news show, and since we both have a weakness for chocolate, decided to give their "Trio Nut Bark" a go. It came in a pretty boxed gift set with three different chocolate barks in generously portioned 3" X 3" squares. There were four squares of each of the three flavors for a total of twelve yummy squares. Here are the over-the-top descriptions from their website: 1) Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark sprinkled with delicate French grey sea salt 2) Creamy White Chocolate Bark with the satisfying crunch of green hued slightly sweet pistachios 3) Smooth Milk Chocolate Bark with the delightful crunch of roasted buttery Cashews So how did our $24.50 + shipping chocolates taste? The Rich Dark Chocolate Almond bark was top notch. Excellent dark chocolate flavor, plenty of big almond pieces, and that light touch of sea salt really finished it off. The Creamy White Chocolate Bark was excellent, and I was impressed by the large amount of full-sized pistachio nuts in the square. The Milk Chocolate Bark was fantastic -smooth, creamy, and sweet with plenty of crushed cashews to boost up the taste and add to the texture. They were all so good, I really can't say I had a favorite. In summary, their chocolates are magnificent. BTW, their website advertises a very cool experience for ten or more - a Virtual Chocolate Tasting, with chocolate kits for your guests, a lesson on how chocolate is made, and chocolate tastings along each step of the process.

I do not give five stars lightly. I do not give them often. And I do not give them to…read moreestablishments that have merely tried hard and fallen short with charm. I give them only when something has, in the truest sense of the word, surprised me. In a world oversaturated with mediocre coffee shops and uninspired baked goods, Quebrada Baking Company stands apart, not merely as a café, but as an experience worth seeking out, returning to, and telling everyone you know about. Quebrada has surprised me. We begin with the iced coffee, because it demands to be addressed first. I have endured, over the course of a long and largely joyless life of coffee consumption, more iced coffee than any person should reasonably be subjected to watered-down, over-sweetened, catastrophically over-iced monuments to mediocrity. What Quebrada produces is something else entirely. The balance is immaculate smooth, bold, and refreshing in equal measure, with a depth of flavor that lingers in the best possible way. It is the finest iced coffee I have encountered. I do not expect to encounter better. Whatever craft goes into that cup, it is something to be protected. The baked goods are equally deserving of distinction. The banana bread and pumpkin bread, in particular, are a masterclass in what these classics are supposed to be. Moisture, in baked goods, is not an accident it is a consequence of discipline and intention. Each slice arrives perfectly moist not dense, not dry, but exactly right with a richness and warmth that suggests genuine care in every step of preparation. These are not afterthoughts set out under a glass dome to accompany a drink order. These are the reason to come. The space itself is worthy of note. Quebrada has cultivated an atmosphere that is at once refined and deeply welcoming the kind of environment that invites you to stay longer than you planned and leave more restored than when you arrived. The staff contribute enormously to this. Consistently kind, not performatively so, but in the quiet, assured way that indicates it is simply who they are. This, too, is rarer than it ought to be. What perhaps speaks most highly of Quebrada, however, is this: for the past six months, I have returned nearly every week alongside a close friend. It has become our standing ritual, our preferred backdrop for conversation and quiet alike. In that time, not a single visit has disappointed. There is a rare integrity to a place that earns your loyalty week after week without ever becoming complacent, and Quebrada has earned ours completely. I have come to understand that a visit to Quebrada does not merely accompany a good day, it creates one. There is something almost alchemical about it. A difficult morning becomes manageable. A quiet afternoon becomes something worth savoring. I have walked through that door weighed down and left feeling, without quite knowing how, lighter. That is not something a menu can account for. That is the result of a place built with genuine warmth and purpose. For the food that has never once let me down, and for the comfort that has carried me through more days than I can count. I am, sincerely and without reservation, grateful. Quebrada has given me more than coffee and bread. It has given me something to look forward to. There is no higher standard by which I measure an establishment than this: that it earns your return, again and again, without ever giving you reason to reconsider. Quebrada Baking Company has earned mine unconditionally.

We visited about an hour before closing on a surprisingly cold evening, and the place was still bustling with people, always a good sign for an ice cream spot. They have a nice selection of seasonal flavors available in froyo, hard scoop, or soft serve. We decided to try a milkshake and the blueberry pie flavor. The blueberry pie ice cream was good, a little sweet but not overly so, with a genuine fruit taste. The milkshake was of the thicker, more substantial variety, but wasn't so thick that it was hard to drink. The price felt right for the generous portions, and we left feeling satisfied. Just a friendly heads-up for those sensitive to dairy: we did need to take lactaid pills afterward, so it might be something to watch out for if you're lactose intolerant. Overall, Truly's is a solid, popular local spot that clearly draws a crowd for good reason, even on chilly nights.
