Well were here for afternoon drinks about 3 years ago and found the place delightful. Full bar, oldies music and a two-tiered deck right on the flathead lake. Scenery was beautiful. Si we are back staying in the area and checked out their lunch menu. I read some previous reviews that weren't so flattering saying staff was rude, food wasn't good and so on but we went anyway. We got there and the cook wasn't there yet so we waited on deck and took in the scenery (hadn't changed, still beautiful). Waited a little while longer but our order taker explained that the owner would cook our food. How's that for service. We ordered burgers and tots that were really good and not greasy! Our order taker whipped up some delicious fry sauce too. So all you naysayers, stop your complaining because this is a great local hangout! read more

The Sitting Duck has a long history in Woods Bay, stretching back to the 60's as Derry's Marina. We have been going there since the late 70s. It has had its ups and downs over the years but the last owner worked hard to get it back up. The new owners have built on that. It is a rustic, friendly, old time Montana bar and restaurant. You are always greeted with a smile, food is good and the atmosphere is genuine and hard to beat. The new owners have upgraded the menu even more, adding weekend brunch and prime rib dinners on FR and SA. Everything is outstanding. We had the prime rib, prepared exactly as we had ordered. The serving was ample, with a huge baked potato and salad. Hard to beat!!! read more

I seriously love every bartender here. They are all awesome outgoing and good heart dudes. Tip them well!!!! I recommend THE WORKS it's a Bloody Mary with a meal on top... don't order this if you have a huge party who wants them it will take 30-45 min to have it out and prepped and can be a big hassle for the bartender when it's busy like the summer time. THE WORKS is available afternoon when the kitchen opens which is 12 I believe. Go here for the best view of Flathead (in my opinion), great drinks, awesome bartenders and Karaoke!! read more

It's really nice when someone is good at their job. Bartender handled everyone with ease and knows mixology. I have been places where that is not the case. Trust me... it is important. I had always been a Raven/Bonfire person and overlooked Sitting Duck. However, I was missing out. Their Cajun pasta is amazing!!! It is one of the best dishes around here. Also, their Works Bloody Mary is not to be missed. Every time we have guests in town we bring them by for this and they are blown away. read more

Laid-back, casual place to eat lakeside that wasn't overly crowded, and the food was tasty and affordable. Our group ordered wedge salads, prime rib sandwiches, hot wings and fish and chips - no complaints. And, we enjoyed stepping down from the patio to the beach after dinner. read more

Burgers and tots are good I'd say slightly above average. The atmosphere is laid back in the middle of the day and early evenings, we've never gone here outside of that. Overall it's a nice place to chill on the lake. read more

The food here...phenomenal!!!! We were turned off a little that they were sold out of a lot of their menu, but we now understand why! Chicken sandwich, cheese burger, wings, Cajun pasta and prime rib, all delicious!! With a great view of the sunset. read more

This place is pretty but the bartender is HORRIBLE. His name is Dakota. Like wow. He wouldn't give me anything to drink of that wasnt plastic. What an ass. Plan on sitting at the Sitting Duck forever waiting for food. There's literally nobody working there except the bartender and a cook. If you want a beer, you have to go get it. If you want food, you have to go to the window by the kitchen and order. Much, much later someone might bring something out but no guarantees. If you want table service or timely attention, go somewhere else. The food is typical bar food and definitely nothing spectacular. It's hard to find servers right now but operating a bar and restaurant with two people is inadequate. read more

The bartender here was very rude. First off, he was not educated at all when it came to alcohol. I had to explain to him what Hennessy was. After I got a Moscow mule, he refused to give me a non plastic cup because he said I was going to steal it. After arguing with him I had to give him my ID to get a brass cup. Unacceptable. Food was great, the view was even better. It's right on the water. The Donald Duck burger is amazing - and with pulled pork bacon and all the fixings. Also the nachos was enormous and done right with stuffings between all the layers. Highly recommend. read more

Great place to visit on Flathead Lake! The bartender Dakota is super friendly and fun to chat with. He is very knowledgeable about all types of beer and served me a delicious huckleberry mule which absolutely hit the spot. The food was amazing. We ordered the prime dip sandwich which was incredible. The view on the lake here is off the charts and they have a nice two story deck and dock. Great place to play pool as well. I hear they have karaoke which would be fun. We definitely will be back this next summer! read more

We've been here quite a few times now and their salad is amazing every time, and I mean AMAZING, super fresh and delicious, the duck bites were delectable and the burgers and onion rings top notch, as well. Not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is awesome, right on the lake so boats can pull right up. The server was very attentive and polite, she got a nice tip. :) read more

The Sitting Duck is not closed. They experienced a small fire last summer that closed them down temporarily. However, the bar has been open all fall and winter and the kitchen rebuild will be complete within a month! They are open for business. Please stop by! read more

This bar is fabulous. The bartenders are amazing...and not drinking on their shifts, so they're fully on their game as bartenders...being sure safely within the bar is of utmost concern. The food is fabulous. Honestly, when I heard they had a chef, I was skeptical...as it's a bar...and I figured their "chef" was like any other cook...but wow! Amazing food! Beautiful presentation. (and I'm totally a snob when it comes to my food) Surely my go-to bar, now. Bingo on Sundays during the off season is too much fun! The owners are wonderful. Nice little pub & grill. Had the fish & chips; which were pretty good. Good crunchy batter with good flavor and very tasty Alaskan Cod. Had the molten lava cake for dessert with ice cream. It was ok. Place reopened w/ new kitchen for the 2016 summer after the fire. Also has new owners w/in the last couple years so i would IGNORE the really old reviews. This place is a great spot to go during the summer AND winter. Great drink prices, good food. AWESOME patio and tons of boat parking. Its always quieter than the Raven next door and not entirely sure why. Service is better IMO, food is at or near their's. I like this place! Patio is perfect for the summer months. We used to go to Sitting Duck but gave it up as a lost cause. That was before they remodeled and hired new help! We just had lunch there and enjoyed it tremendously. The food is great, the service terrific, and we will definitely go back soon. We are both fussy eaters, and for us to both enjoy the place speaks volumes on how much better it is today. If you are traveling and want to have a great lunch or dinner, try the Sitting Duck. They are open at 11 all day until 9 pm. That sure beats waiting until 5 to have dinner. We sat at a table by the lake and had a heavenly view! Their salads look great, and if they are like their burgers and fries, we will be in hog heaven. Try it! read more

I came in with a 10 top, all to eat and drink, we came by boat. i was told to "go to the raven, and take my boat with me' me and my friends still decided to wait to be seated and request to not be in that waitress' section. while we were waiting a friend was in the restroom. ANOTHER waitress came up and told me there dock was a private dock and I replied ' even for people who are eating here' she stated " i don't see you eating anything, you're just using out restrooms' I then explained to her that we were patiently waiting to be seated but because of her terrible manners we would all be leaving, and i would ' take my boat, and money elsewhere' I have always enjoyed eating here with family, even if the food is not the best but the view is incredible after this i will never be going back read more
