They forgot to smother the potatoes which would've had chipped beef gravy with green onions, but I'll try it next time. Usually once a quarter I drive from Cypress down to The Shack to grab some smoked ribs & boudin. The customer service is always polite and respectful, which most black owned businesses need to keep in mind with their employees. Instead I decided to try their oxtails & okra stew. Boy oh boy the okra stew was on point but the oxtails it was just ok, which I was very disappointed I paid a premium price only to get 2 & 1/2 bones due to running out, he gave me 2 smoked pigs feet (which I don't eat BUT I tried it & it was different & tasty. Basically this dish is potato toppings and bbq sauce on top of a sliced open boudin sausage. The prices can get a little steep that thats expected from a mom and pop stop. They have outdoor seating. I tried the fruit punch slush it was not as good as I had hoped. I also tried the stuffed potato but it didn't seem to be made with love like the stuffed boudin. For the food I decided to get the one meat plate that comes with 2 sides.. chicken was my main dish and for my 2 sides I decided on cheese and broccoli and the beans! Overall the food was good, the chicken was tender and sauced well in bbq, and the beans which were mixed with ground beef in it were also good!
