The Screen Shop is a generational family business that are experts in their field. They stepped me through the various screen options in repairing my screen doors. The heavy duty dog proof screens add more strength to the aluminum framed door and it rolls open & closed much easier & quieter. Rollers on the bottom were also replaced making the door more usable. Time to repair and pickup were met on time time . Great quality for price with zero drama. read more

This is the only company I will trust with windows and sliding glass interior doors. The Screen Shop is a small, family-owned business that truly delivers excellence. I worked directly with John Salamida, one of the owners, and his professionalism, care, and expertise were evident every step of the way. He played an important role in helping transform our condo remodel into a beautiful, cohesive story -- not just a renovation, but a space we truly love. Their office staff is equally impressive: professional, friendly, responsive, and dependable. Every interaction was smooth and reassuring. I'm so grateful we found The Screen Shop and would highly recommend them anytime. read more

This is not my first time hiring The Screen Shop to repair my window screens. I keep coming back for their fair price and fast service. I bring my broken screens to them, drop them off outside the shop. Go in and the lad(ies) would come out, look at my screens then we go back into the shop and she would write me up. I do drop off because it's cheaper of course. One week later, I will get a text notifying me to pick up. Such a no nonsense business with fair prices, I would definitely recommend this business to everyone who needs their window screens repair. read more

I've used these guys twice now, and both experiences have been spot on. The first time was for a custom screen door--my opening was a weird, non-standard size (because of course it was), and they handled it like it was no big deal. Fit came out perfect. Most recently, I had them rescreen two window screens with a darker, cat-resistant mesh (because my cat apparently thinks he's training for the WWE), and again--flawless work. Quality is top-tier, attention to detail is there, and the service feels genuinely high-level without being over the top. Definitely my go-to spot for anything screen-related. read more

I found them when my Milgard Garden bay window (the side vents) didn't open. They are super- the front office staff is on it with appointments and Moses did a wonderful job diagnosing, ordering replacement, and installing. They are top notch- definitely will be calling them for any future work. read more

Wanted to install a secure screen door to my front door. I've driven by their shop for years, so decided to give them a call. What incredible service! Super professional, quick to give an estimate, and explained everything to us. Installation was a couple weeks wait just to get the glass but also very quick once it came in. Beautiful glass too. Another key point: we got a quote from a well known competitor and it was almost triple!!! Definitely recommend these folks. read more

I was referred to The Screen Shop by a competitor who was unable to fix a broken window in my father's house. I couldn't have been happier or more satisfied with the service. Initially, I expected to have to replace a window, for which I had received an estimate from another provider. First, they beat the price by 50%. Then, when they came out to take measurements, they said they could fix it for 80% less. I was so pleased with their integrity and desire to meet the customer's needs. During the visit, I learned that this was a small, family-owned business started by the current owners' grandfather in 1945. Their dedication and customer service was stellar. It has been a long time since I have felt so satisfied with a home repair service. I highly recommend them! Although I hope I don't need their services any time soon, if I do, I won't hesitate to contact them again. read more

We used the Screen Shop to replace several windows which had failed (lost vacuum between the panes leading to fogging/condensation). They also replaced several of our closet doors with upgraded models. They answered all of our questions, completed the work promptly, and provided great service and follow-up, all for a great price. We will definitely use them again. read more

If you need new windows this is the ONLY place to use!!!! I could not recommend this company or people more highly!!! Prices were competitive and the windows are beautiful!! read more

The screen shop fixed 2 of our window screens. The staff was very kind, and the fixes came out perfect.

This is a useful review and a hidden gem review. A twofer! Orchard used to have a screen counter but then Lowes bought Orchard and killed them because that's what big boxes do. But. When we went to Lowes first bc it was convenient and found no real screen replacement options they were nice enough to recommend the Screen Shop. So there's that. A star for Lowes. Hidden in a location that feels like an infrastructure octopus has grown up around them w ramps and soccer stadiums and here in an eddy still lives the folks that you should call first when you need something screen, screen door, or just a reminder of what competent efficient business should feel like. Bc they are that. We procured a couple of replacement screens. Reasonable price, reasonable turnaround time. Ready when they said they'd be and the call came as promised and complete satisfaction was handily delivered. When you need them, and one day you may, give the Screen Shop a try. A simple thing in life. read more

Great customer service with very knowledgeable employees. We couldn't have asked for anymore. Would recommend highly.

Ordered a screen door with a doggie door. Came out great. Unfortunately my older pugs didn't take to it. We still have to open the doggie door for them. Oh well. read more

Julie helped me with my order and it was so comforting to know this is a family run business and has been for so many years. Our screen door was literally on it's last leg. We tried to find companies that would fix or replace the frame, but many just replaces the screen itself. We've tried to find universal ones only to see it wouldn't fit being too wide to fit the tracks or something else. Then one day while shopping in Lowes, a fellow there helped me with some commerical dusting pan. He was very knowledgeable and I asked if Lowes sells custom sized screen door. Instead, he told me he used to work nearby SJC airport and there would be a company there call The Screen Shop that would fix or replace screen doors. So a bit of google and sure enough found this spot. Got a text yesterday that my screen door was ready, picked it up today, installed it in and it was a perfect fit that would put OJ behind the bars. Lol... Thanks to Julie for measuring and giving me options on the door and thanks the Sue for helping me get my screen door and helping me load it in the minivan. You guys rock! Look forward to seeing your estimator in Aug for my kiddo's window options. :) read more

Family owned 3rd generation business started in 1945. I love this place. Getting windows rescreened was fast and best value in bay area. I've had the good experience of being helped by 2 sisters and a brother. Very service and customer oriented. Location is down by PayPal stadium so it's really out of the way for me in Palo Alto. But I enjoy coming here and seeing this nice family business. Fast turnaround for my window screens. read more

The Screen Shop installed beautiful security screen doors and a window screen at my house. John was the estimator and Eric was the installer. They were both very professional and easy to work with. I've lived in San Jose now entering my fourth decade and have driven by The Screen Shop's sign on the west side of 880 at the SJC airport exit for the entirety of that time. This week was my first visit. We had a sliding screen door that needed re-screened, some new wheels, and just some 'freshening up' after a dozen years of heavy use since it was first installed. I received exceptional service for my work request and directly interacted with not less than three grandchildren of the man who founded this business, Joe Salamida Sr., in 1945. A family-owned, multi-generational business in the heart of Silicon Valley doesn't last eight decades unless it has an unwavering commitment to customer service with a focus on Quality & Value. I'm looking forward to using them for future needs and will not hesitate to return. I may even actively seek out items in need of attention so that I can further support this business and this legacy San Jose family. read more

If you're looking for a custom sized screen door this is the place. I have an odd sized French screen door and they had a door set up that fit perfectly. The door was also sturdier than the ones I shopped at Home Depot. The price was more than I was expecting but I think you get what you pay for. I expect it to last a long time. All in all very happy with the door they spec's out and installed. Will go to them again in the future. read more

Julie helped us figure out how we could use our existing screen doors. It looks like our contractor had not completely adjusted the wheel heights so they tended to come off the rails. Julie patiently explained to us how we could try and fix this so we would not need to spend on new screen doors, instead of trying to push us to buy something we did not need. Really appreciate your integrity and advice and we will be back when we're ready to replace our screens. Thank you so much! read more

We bought 4 replacement windows from The Screen Shop. We are decent DIYers but this was our first window replacement. We asked for the measurement service and John came to our house and spent a lot of time walking us through the process, giving us all our different options and helping us figure out what we wanted. SUPER HELPFUL. Our house is 90 years old so I was worried we would run into something weird, it helped for my piece of mind to get someone here to look at what we were doing and make suggestions. They have a showroom with a bunch of stuff, but I thought it was really helpful to stand next to our existing windows with a catalog and see the different choices (single vs double hung, segmented, painted vs colored vinyl, etc). He pointed out different houses on the block to illustrate the differences. We debated getting them to do the install but he walked me through the whole process, including answering a few follow up questions over email. The actual installs went great. The first window took us maybe 3 hours but by the fourth, I think we got it down to about an hour. Everything fit perfectly and they look awesome, even better than I was expecting. Maybe most importantly, I don't need to use a mallet to open my windows anymore. We will definitely be going back once we're ready to do the rest of our house. read more

The Screen Shop just finished installing ten dual/vinyl Milgard windows in my house--all beautiful. John, the President, explained (in the beginning) the whole process, answered all my questions, gave me some paperwork, measured the windows for an estimate. The two workers did an Excellent job of removing my old windows and carefully replacing them with the new ones (and helped replace a couple curtains). The office gals were always happy to answer questions and kept me updated on the work progress. I'm greatly impressed with The Screen Shop and am highly recommending them for anyone thinking about having windows, screens or patio doors replaced. read more

Have used the Screen shop b4 for minor screen repairs. This time I used them for a decent number of window retrofits (Milgard). Very good experience from start to finish. Calls and emails were answered in a timely fashion; measurements were done professionally and, concurrently, good advice/clear explanations were given; and installation went very smoothly. Pricing was good; scheduling easy; and job site left clean. Definitely will put The Screen Shop at the top of the list for any future jobs. read more

When my husband and I bought our first home, the screen doors and window screens were in disrepair. We brought them in to The Screen Shop and could not be happier! We upgraded our screen door to include "pet mesh" and it has stood up to our puppy growing and jumping on it--with no signs of coming apart! We were also very pleased with TSS's turnaround time: we placed our order a couple of weeks before my parents were set to visit, and everything came in at the very front of their expected window! read more

We did some construction at our house and almost every single one of our screens was broken in the process. The owner of the company came out personally, measured out every single screen and replaced both the screen and the frames all in about 2 hours. The price was very reasonable and I am a really happy customer. No more getting destroyed by the mosquitoes which come from the creek by our home. read more
