Visited The Scrambled Egg for late breakfast on Sunday 9/9/2018 when we arrived there wasn't a long wait to be seated waitress took us to our table along with menus and took our drink order's ordered mimosas and a water wasn't a fan of the mimosa primarily watered-down orange juice, but I won't hold that against The Scrambled Egg. This turned out to be a great place for breakfast great food and I do highly recommend this place. I ordered the Fishhawker breakfast with the cheddar hashbrown casserole (my favorite) and the french bread french toast, along with scrambled eggs and the regular bacon I didn't try the brown sugar bacon which was what the rave was all about, waitress advised that is very sweet, so I passed. Food came out very quick and the casserole was delicious and a lot of flavor it did not disappoint and the french toast was to die for soft french bread made into french toast with powdered sugar sprinkled throughout this was a different take on french toast and it was great. I had a wonderful breakfast experience at The Scrambled Egg. Great Job! Keep up the good work. read more

I've been here 3 times & gratefully each experience has been great. I've ordered the exact same plate each time which is called the Fishhawker- I keep it simple so it's two eggs over medium, French toast, maple bacon, & Wisconsin cheddar hash. The French toast is delicious & definitely worth trying if you haven't had it! The bacon is on the sweeter side so for me it does a nice blend w/ the eggs & cheesy hash. The staff has always been prompt & friendly. The place is quaint, clean, & service is good. All the basics nicely covered to jump start your morning! read more

Interesting run in with owner on Saturday. Went with my wife and daughter and were told they were clearing tables and would be seated shortly. Several parties later another trio walked in and were seated almost immediately on patio not offered to us. After being seated I looked over and they already had their drinks and were having food order taken... I explained my being upset to the waiter who explained that he had 3 tables to take care of (not upset with him). Owner came over and I explained why I was upset. I was told that everything mentioned was accurate and basically so what... He came closer to our table and started flexing like he was going to punch me. Did not offer an apology, did not offer anything, stated we could leave... which we did. I did ask him if my being upset was without merit and he said yes. So... If you want to try the scrambled egg where customer service is not part of the menu, and customers are told they don't matter, please help yourself. read more

I tried The Scrambled Egg today for the very first time. It was excellent. The service was great and the food was quite good. I like Mom & Pop small restaurant places and this is a great breakfast and lunch place to add to my list of favorites. read more

Went here today for a breakfast/lunch visit. The burger was cooked perfectly and the home made chips were light and tasty. We also got the scrambled hash platter. Cooked perfectly. Though the Scrambled Egg has seemed to recover from the disastrous service last time we visited, today the food was lackluster. The coffee remains weak and the fantastic Wisconsin Cheddar Hash Browns from last time were poor imitations with no flavor and significantly less cheese. Hopefully they will improve. read more

Been here three times. Service can be slow as mentioned but not that bad. We had a very nice breakfast there. We felt bad for the two servers because they were jammed with customers & the whole inside and outside was full. There were only two of them on. Despite the crowd, the service wasn't as slow as you would expect and they were very friendly. The ingredients tasted fresh and the menu had a variety of options. My family and I are in love with this place. We always try to eat breakfast here once or twice a month because they never disappoint us. The staff are always friendly and treat us like family where some of them know our names. Even we don't know everyone the minute we walk in we are always greeted with a smile. I love the food at this little place. Service was wonderful. We are picky egg people. Poached, super runny - and scrambled super soft. They got both of the right, which rarely happens. I'm always amazed by breakfast places that can't cook eggs to order. Scrambled grits is basically a grits casserole with cheese and bacon and other goodies. Typically a grits purist, I loved this little bowl of artery damage. Not a huge menu, but the handled our special requests nicely. The only reason I knock down a star may seem silly. But the silverware is in a tin on the table. So other people could have touched them. And it's very flimsy silverware. Cheaper than the set you bought first time you lived on your own. Flimsy like bad restaurant in an airport terminal flatware where they don't want to give you anything you could damage a plane with. They wouldn't even survive a camping trip. If you're confused by the offering of 'breakfast bread', don't be. It's just toast. read more

My wife and I had the flatbread breakfast sandwiches ( open face) and hash browns and coffee. We liked the coffee enough to ask what it was ( Royal Cup Columbian). The flatbreads were fantastic, very rich taste with a nice crispy bread!! The hash browns we would not re-order. They were different to say the least, but that would not deter us from returning. The atmosphere is pleasant , looks very nice inside, and we are looking forward to sitting outside on our next visit. We thought some "Panera" type music softly in the background would have been nice. I thought it was a bit pricey ( meals and coffee for $24), but it seems like the days of the inexpensive breakfast are over at all area breakfast places. read more

First time here. Good service and nice decor. I got the Fishhawker. French toast was really good and sausage links were great. Scrambled grits were okay. Wife got Rise and Shine. Eggs cooked properly over medium. Bacon was really good. Hash brown casserole was good, but a little dry. Biscuit was over cooked. Got a replacement one since the first was hockey puck consistency. It was marginally better, but still couldn't eat outside of it. Men's bathroom stall would not lock, so I got to meet an employee when I would have preferred a little privacy. Despite this, we will try it again sometime. When I mentioned the issue to the server she said the were aware of the issue. Change the lock out folks it's a $20 fix. read more

Decent place for breakfast that isn't over priced. Home fries are great and well seasoned, comes with peppers and onions. I had the dish "A little bit of Chicken Friend"....immediately got the Zac Brown song stuck in my head. Lol. Steak was tender and gravy was good. I don't think the biscuits are homemade, a little disappointing. If all you are doing is breakfast-it should all be homemade. IMO. Restaurant is open 7-2pm and can get busy but there is a huge patio for outside seating and it is screened in. No bugs!! All in all. I'd come back if I was in the area. read more

The food here is great and you get a lot of it for what you pay for. I only give it 4 stars because once when ordering the chicken fried steak it had plastic on it. So they obviously just order them and heat them up and neglected to carefully make sure the plastic was taken off. And after giving it back to the waitress, she didn't even offer to give us a discount or anything, which I feel like should be standard when you mess up that bad. And it wasn't taken off of the check either. There's usually a wait on the weekends, other than that, it's good food and reasonably priced. As much as I hate to put a local restaurant down, i feel i have to voice my absolutely disappointing experience at the scrambled egg Though the staff are quite polite and friendly , the food... was lets say, disappointing I ordered the hungry platter with bacon, eggs, hash brown casserole ,and pancakes , and a coffee black The eggs were good, no surprise there , coffee was passable , could have been a little stronger but it was good enough though it did taste strangely similar to a Pancakes were OK (could have been a little fluffier) but what ruined those for me was the fact they weren't served with actual maple syrup but some rather chemically tasting syrup substitute , i think may have been aunt jamima syrup , which is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE considering it is a restaurant The maple sugar bacon was WAY TOO SWEET, it was basically candied bacon , which if i had wanted candied bacon it would have been great, but is truly awful if paired with eggs , it needed hot sauce to even cut the sweetness enough to make it edible ! The hash brown casserole was entirely unsutable for human consumption , maybe as dog food but as part of a breakfast no way in hell and heres why [too many conflicting flavors, slimy on the pallet, couldn't find anything resembling a hash-brown in the "hash-brown casserole" except the texture of the potato slices] basically not edible if you have any taste buds at all or even palatable for that matter , i took all of 2 bites and couldn't bring myself to finish the rest of it Maybe if they didnt serve fake syrup, overcandied bacon and potato casserole grule I would come back but sadly i feel this will be my first and last dining experience with the scrambled egg Now i understand why they call the restaurant the scrambled egg , their food will have you "scrambling" to find a bucket , that is if you can manage to finish the food they serve read more

I used to love this place but the past two times that I have been there it hasn't been great. The hash brown casserole has been reheated too many times and is dry and mushy and overcooked. The biscuits were not to great and the twisted french toast wasn't as good as it used to be. read more

All our favorites were packed - so we wanted to try something new and support local. Walk in and it's tight, not very clean, wobbly tables, and stuffy. Food was very processed, nothing seemed fresh, even the pancakes seemed like they were microwaved from frozen. Much of the food was served cold. The servers all seemed very uncomfortably stuffed in a small area where they prepare drinks etc. servers didn't appear to be overly cleanly themselves. Uncomfortable, unclean, and processed are words that describe this place. They clearly purchase cheap low end food and feed it to Fishhawk!! I'm shocked that people eat here, but I imagine only for the lack of breakfast restaurants nearby. read more

This was a nice find in a small little town. I had a ham and cheese omelet. Basically it was what you would expect from an omelet. Good portion size and cooked perfect. Others around me had biscuits and gravy and hash brown casserole. Both looked good but I didn't try so I am going off presentation. The coffee was delicious. Royal Cup coffee is the name of what they brew. Caramel, light, dark and hazelnut brews are all available. Service was fast and Brandon on server was helpful and friendly. Nothing special about this restaurant. Food is ok and the menu seems very limited. It's clean and that counts for something but the food is a little bland. I prefer to go elsewhere but in a pinch this is a good option since food choices around Fishhawk are fairly limited. read more

Went to breakfast this morning and waited 45 minutes for some bacon and eggs. When the food FINALLY came the waitress apologized and said they were short a cook. It would have been really nice if they had said that up front, especially being a weekday. If I had to be at work today I would have been extremely upset.
