Went at night with group of friends, I ordered the philly cheesesteak and it was absolutely delicious 10/10, beer batter fries are amazing as a side. My friend didn't like the clam chowder all that much. Prices are steep but you get a lot of food, for the type of restaurant (diner style) the prices are absolutely not justified at all. We love to come here for breakfast, the atmosphere is amazing. It's especially perfect for snowy weather. It feels like a small town diner, despite being at the heart of the city. I don't give many 5 stars because good food is just not enough to rate 5/5. Let me rave first about a young man named Devon (devin?) who greeted us and served us when we first entered. So if management of reading this; you've got a solid team member and retain him. They say character is how you act when no one is looking... so we observed him treat a guy who walked in (who was a bit out of sorts...) humanely and kindly. He escorted him out and spoke to him without judgement. Because of COVID-19, staff was short-handed. He was the only server and host there. We know because we asked about how business was since Spokane lifted its mandate. He was truthful and genuine but never complained once about how hard it has been. He enjoyed to work and cared. How's the food? EVERYONE will tell you the portions are large. I'm telling you the portions are ENORMOUS haha. Plenty to take back to the hotel or back home. And it's pretty damn good. Even the appetizers are big enough to share (but shared plates between people incur a $1 extra charge). Location? Ideal and walking distance to pretty much everything in downtown Rover park area. Kid friendly? Yes. There is a bar to watch sports that is separated from a smaller dining area. Parking? Not sure. We walked from our hotel. Caveat: this is not a dress up place. The staff can be somewhat irritable but when you're working past 1:00 AM, dealing almost exclusively with drunk people, and your diner is full, what else would you expect? The food is almost an afterthought, honestly. Dining at the Satellite is practically a Spokane tradition. The food may take a little while, depending on the time of day, but it's reasonably priced and always satisfies the greasy, diner food spot a long night of drinking will leave you with. The breakfast here was pretty unbelievable. One of the employees at the Marriott had suggested that we walk the 4-5 blocks to eat here and it didn't disappoint. The coffee was great and after ordering the biscuits and gravy as the waiter recommended I was floored. It's obvious the biscuit are made from scratch. The bacon was a thick cut and the eggs were grilled to perfection. My daughter ordered the pancakes and they were probably some of the greatest pancakes I've ever had.
