The service was fast and friendly. All of the food was super fresh and delicious! We will certainly stop in again. This place is great for a quick lunch, a meeting, or a Saturday brunch on the patio.

My partner and I really enjoyed the Dad Bod burger but both didn't like the Mahi Bowl. We're both used to poké bowls being cold and the Mahi wasn't very seasoned. Both the drinks were decent! It took a minute or so to be seated by someone but our waitress was very attentive. The restaurant was decently full around 7 pm on a weekday.

The food was unbelievably good, what a surprise, and the drinks were so enjoyable. To finish off the perfect lunch they had Açaí bowls and that topped it off!!

If I could I would have given it 4 1/2 stars, because it was good but not great but definitely well enough not to drop it to a 4. Let's start with the location: very nice and everything seems real clean and cared for. Even the men's room was decent at 6:00 pm at night. Now our server: Sidney was very attentive to us. She took very good care of us during our stay. Now the meal: Again it was good. The wifey had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. She tells me the sauce had a nice flavor but the chicken really had no flavor. Certainly not a Blackened flavor you would expect. The chicken itself was good and tender. As for me I had Shrimp and Grits. It also was good. It had onions and peppers in it and again the flavor of the onions and peppers just want there. Who knows. We also had the Brick Oven Brie. There was a really nice amount of Brie. So much that the toasted bread ran out way before the Brie. So as I said this was a good place and meal despite my small hits in this review. I firmly recommend this place because I do expect you to have a nice meal. Ps. To the owners: your link to your website doesn't work via Yelp. To potential customers: you will have to go your search engine and find the Charred site.

The butter was a major highlight. It was fresh, rich, and paired perfectly with my steak. Melted in my mouth, solid 8.8/10. 15 oz Seared Duck Breast paired with Au Poivre at the waitress' recommendation. An absolute fantastic choice, the portion was hearty and the duck was perfectly cooked. Extremely tender and moist, my husband loved it and I enjoyed it too even though I normally don't go for duck. He particularly enjoyed the fat cap. 8.65/10. Roasted Carrots with Cumin Honey & Toasted Pine Nuts. I feel like they were just starting to get the fundamentals right with this dish but ultimately missed the mark. The carrots themselves were delicious- well cooked, great ingredient sourcing. Seasoning left a lot to be desired. It would have benefited from at least double the cumin and some form of additional spice/depth- my pick would've been to add harissa & a pinch of sumac. They started out with all of the right elements, this just ended up falling flat. Still ate the entire thing- the toasted Pine Nuts were delicious 6/10. Steamed Broccoli, glazed with butter and parmesan cheese. Sourcing was again phenomenal on the veggies, the florets were very fresh. Slightly uneven steaming with some pieces much crunchier than others. Flavor was delicious. 7/10. Dessert: Classic Vanilla Creme Brulee with a beautiful little pistachio macaroon. This was surprisingly more flavorful than expected- on both the creme brulee & the macaroon. Given the subtler flavoring used at dinner, it was a pleasant surprise and I appreciated the commitment to the bit. Paired with their signature Vanilla Infused Espresso Martini which was perfectly balanced. 9/10. Not pictured: Caesar Salads- quite disappointing. Full length romaine lettuce that we then had to slice up ourselves. My lettuce was very wilted, husband's was slightly bitter. Maybe a bold take, but if I'm paying $14 for a salad, I shouldn't have to chop my own lettuce at the dinner table. Parmesan quality was good. 2/10. Ambiance: The restaurant itself was beautiful, decorations were a lovely nod to the 1870's decade including impressionist style paintings. Service: Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. No complaints!

We ended up at the Salty Siren for two reasons, one, it was recommended by one of the guides at the Henricus Historical Park as being near the Farrar's Island historical marker (ancestors) and it was on the river. The view was gorgeous. We were promptly seated at an outdoor table overlooking the water. Our server, Jodi H., greeted us with a smile and offered to get our drinks and our calamari appetizer. It was excellent. Light, crispy, fresh with a few fried jalapeños for zing. The dip served with them was really good. I ordered fried oysters, which came with authentic hush puppies (which for this southerner means no sugar!) and I ordered the vegetable of the day (steamed broccoli) to sort of make up for the "fried". My husband ordered the grilled salmon. His salad was huge and the vegetables were so fresh that I filched some of his cucumbers. His salmon was amazing. It was perfectly cooked and it was so moist and tender. We will try to return if we are ever travelling this way again. Try The Salty Siren.
