First time coming to saloon not on a weekend or bar night and wow what a different vibe. I loved it. So nice and calm and relaxing and a great place for a drink and bite to eat. I ordered the chicken and spinach panini with fries. It was delicious. The chicken was fresh, as was the spinach, and pesto. It paired nicely with crisp fries. We sat at the bar and made it just before the kitchen closed thank goodness. Our service was fantastic and our food came out fast as they were not too busy. Definitely will start coming back to saloon during daytime hours now that I know how good it is besides as a bar! read more

The waitress asked how's the food and my husband said, "It's not good because I ordered Philly cheese steak. This is roast beef". The waitress asked if it's okay and my husband said it's not ok. Much improved over the last few years and back to its former glory and the Saloon you remember years ago! That and SO much more! Amazing renovation and layout! Rooftop is really nice and I did attend a few events in the party room they are beautiful and highly recommended to book for a party or wedding! Wow the karaoke night on Thursday is a lot of fun! The food is as good as ever and maybe even better! House specialty French dip is amazing, also chili with chips app, spinach dip app, pasta dish and Philly cheesesteak are amazing too. PROS: This place had a restaurant on the ground floor and had a hip bar on the rooftop. The bartenders were nice, it was clean, and the prices were decent. Their kitchen closes at 10pm, while the bar lasts till 4am CONS: The rooftop closes at midnight which i find to be a bit early OVERALL: This is the best bar on the whole block. Came here for the nightlife / bar scene, not for dinner. Got here around 10pm and after a while hopped around to other bars. Overall, this was our favorite place in PR. The music was great. Solid mix from 00's and 10's. Mainly pop, with a sprinkle of r&b, country, rock. Plenty of space and multiple bars to order from. Good amount of seating. There was a cover, but compared to the other spots, it was worth the 10 bucks. read more

The Saloon is a great bar and restaurant located in the heart of Pearl River. I have been here many times whether it is for brunch, dinner, or just a night out. Me and my boyfriend went through the rooftop to meet up with his sister. We walked right back down to the bottom after hearing she wasn't there and going to the bathroom. WE NEVER MADE IT TO THE ROOFTOP. We asked the bouncer that we just saw to let us into the actual bar and we would pay the difference or to give us our money back to back around. He refused to. We had to pay a total of 80$ cover fee to get into this bar. Absolutely not okay or acceptable. Terrible customer service. You're better off going to Nooners. At least they treat you right. Due to the pandemic, I have not been visiting bars/restaurants as frequently to avoid exposure. I heard The Saloon had a rooftop so I was open to the idea. I've been to this establishment on many different occasions in the past and experienced first hand how crowded it can get inside. It was a Friday night, there was live music playing. Great atmosphere all around however, the Saloon yet again was crowded. I felt a bit uneasy staying as I noticed everyone at the bar without masks and little to no distancing in between. Employees all had masks on and made sure to notify people to wear a mask when walking around. We found a table far from the pack and ordered a couple of drinks. My friend ordered vodka soda and said there was barley any alcohol. I would suggest sticking to beer when coming here. read more

Located in the cute little town of Pearl River, NY. They have a back parking lot or street parking available making it is quite easy to go 'pub hopping' all the way up Main Street to a few 'olde Irish pubs'. TV's abound for sports watching and a nice dining area that has massive booths that can fit 6 comfortably. Their menu offers a lot of hearty pub faves, soups, sandwiches, wraps and their specialty French dip. Avocado toast for the health conscious! Guinness is fresh and cold. I went to the Saloon two days before St Patty's Day. It got busy and noisy but that was okay. The music was a nice Mix of lively Irish ballads. I ordered French Onion Soup which came out lukewarm. I had a beer which also was lukewarm. The only Irish beer on tap was Guinness. The corned beef and can age was lukewarm. Considering that it was a central casting dive bar back in the day, any improvement over the ensuing forty years would have been welcome. It definitely has a new sheen and polish and a menu that takes a credible stab at "restaurant quality" fare that doesn't require a 0.4 blood alcohol level to enjoy. The vastly improved vibe also makes it more than suitable to bring a date that you haven't met here for the first time five minutes prior. On two separate occasions I have ordered using the online app and both times the pretzel was not included in the order. Both times I called and both times they said they would have a manager call me. I even stopped by and showed them the receipt but when I stopped by I was told no manager was there so I left my contact details and never received a call. Any time I come here, it's usually because coworkers want to meet here after work. Other than that, I would never come back here. The staff are very rude. When I asked one bartender for a drink menu, she proceeded to say whatever she said with an attitude. They're not quite accommodating either. I wanted to take my drink from downstairs to upstairs and was told no by that same bartender, when I asked a different bartender, he said he would have to give me a plastic cup. Every time I come here, it never changes, some of the staff continue to be rude. Pearl River Saloon is the perfect place for drunk teens and milfs. Unfortunately this restaurant cannot use their beautiful real-estate to their potential. It's sad because the establishment itself is beautiful. Inside, it is dirty, the bartenders are drinking just as much (if not more) then the guests, and the security guards are there to party rather then protect. They hold FAKE PROMOTIONS where they post about events and promos on their Facebook and Instagram that they do not follow thru with. They boasted about their Halloween costume contest that would give out $600 to the winners. Throughout the night, the contest continued to get pushed back until eventually the restaurant closed. Just really sad to see a wonderful place in a beautiful town be run down because of poor management and crappy waitstaff. I wish restaurants wouldn't have to hire the bottom of the barrel crew. Went to this bar recently and it was a little busy. When we walked in we saw the bartender taking a shot at the end of bar with some customers. We waited for a while without getting served when New customers came in (who he seemed to know) the bartender walked passed us and they got served immediately. He then did a shot with them. We waited about 20 mins until leaving without ever getting anything dispite grabbing his attention on more then one occasion. read more

This restaurant reminded me of a nicer version of a diner. (Which isn't a bad thing) The menu was simple and had American classics. For example, mozzarella sticks, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Entrees are available to order and change throughout the week. I think if you stick to the classics you won't be disappointed. I ordered the grilled chicken and spinach panini which comes with a pesto sauce and mozzarella. The panini was okay. It wasn't anything special. I feel that it should've had more flavor and it didn't. I barely tasted the pesto. There is a pretty big full bar. The drinks are reasonably priced. I ordered a vodka seltzer with a splash of cranberry and it was only six dollars. Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience. Maybe I'll get nachos or mozzarella sticks next time I come. read more

Security guards were doing nothing but banging on all the doors of the bathrooms if girls were in there for more than two minutes. Only girls. One security guard (who looked like Trevor from GTA) chased my friend down and grabbed her arm when she asked him to stop banging on the doors. read more

Every server was at top area. I guess this is where food comes out. Did I mention that our apps came and we had no plates or silverware. We had to ask for them. Then our meals came and we we still eating apps. Ok...I won't be back. Ok that was about 10 years ago....I never posted above. I felt bad. Ok, it's 2023. I'm back for a Meetup. Ordered drunken shrimp tacos. Don't do it. Not great. French fries were ok. Ordered mozzarella sticks too. Not great. Tastes frozen and too bready. Service....at bar. The bartender very nice. I've been here multiple times in the past, mostly for drinking or partying purposes. There's almost always a cover at the front door and you're only allowed upstairs if you're 25+ or know someone ;). I was in the area and decided to try out their menu... the chipotle Thai glazed calamari was incredible and a spicy way to start the evening. I then ordered the hot coffee crusted burger which was really great as well. Throughout my meal I had two dirty martinis which barely tasted like they had any alcohol; mostly tasted like briny olive juice and watered down vodka, I'm not even sure they used grey goose. My friend ordered a Tito's soda and barely tasted the alcohol in it. I'm mostly giving this establishment 2 stars because of price gauging; cover fee and minimal alcohol in my beverages. read more

No problem, we're 24. Except...she took them into the back and when she returned with them she told me mine was fake. I've been here many times and I know she is not a fan favorite. When I told her I'll just eat while my friend has a drink (as to not make a scene) she told scolded me "get out before I get you kicked out." Was there last weekend, had a blast, except for this one patron at the bar Luca who kept asking me "who owns the women here?" I didn't know how to respond to that so I just told him the owner of the bar and the bartenders split ownership. Pretty sure Luka went home alone that night. This pains me to write this since we have been going here for years. My family and I arrived around 2 no one greeted us and asked the bartender and a waitress if we just sit anywhere and they just shrugged. On the way to our table we passed by a waitress that was standing at a table who acknowledged us however once seated we sat there for a while without anyone coming over. The table next to us who were farther along with menus also was just sitting there. The whole time the waitress we past on the way in returned and proceeded to have a conversation with their friends while neglecting to come to any other table to assist. I took my family here for a Sunday lunch, around noon. The place was still empty. Food wasn't great, wasn't bad. The wings here are always a sure thing. Nicely crisp, sauce on the side. Fries are light and crisp. Burgers decent. Their "Dip" entree was tender, but rather bland. Not sure when it was slow cooked or how old the beef was. The fish tacos tasted ok, but were also bland and really needed some acidity (lime wedge please). It's three star pub food. The real killer here for our experience, and we likely won't return, was the service. Sometimes when restaurants are slow, wait staff disappear. After not seeing our waitress for some time, I asked what looked like a 12 year old boy wearing a Staff shirt..."could we have some more water please?"...and he replied "of course". He passed us by 2 more times before I finally saw our waitress and asked her. She brought us some. A few minutes later, that boy returned and said, "your water will be here in a couple minutes". They said it's ok for you to wear that downstairs but not on the rooftop. Like who has a dress code for a certain area of their bar? Makes completely no sense.
