We had a quick one night stay here. It meets the bare minimum what we needed. It's an old hotel but somewhat clean. Our door security lock was broken shower was weak, the floor is a big sticky. Not the best but it worked for our purpose just staying here for a night. read more

My boyfriend and myself are pretty easily pleased. We travel most often with our dog, a sweet husky. And as such we are not exactly looking for the Hilton, ha ha. So when we checked for a pet friendly hotels in McCall and decided on this one, we were especially pleased! First of all, they did not charge us a fee for having the dog. The staff was very friendly, and when we checked in we were surprised at how big the room was, not just a bed but futon also, as well as an area to set up my computer. There was a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and warm on a cold, cold winter night! Overall very happy. Comfortable and reasonably priced! read more

We found the Rustic Inn in 2018 during our ski season adventures. We typically make day trips to McCall, but sometimes we just want to stay overnight and enjoy some time away. We didn't find it was worth it paying 200-300 a night at the other local hotels and the Rustic delivered just what we needed at anywhere from 89-125 a night depending on the time of season. Every stay, we have been promptly greeted with a smile and the same room upon request. The rooms are very basic and serve the purpose of a place to sleep and stay. There are mini fridges in the room to keep food cold. There is not a microwave, but there are plenty of great spots to enjoy in downtown McCall, just minutes from your room. I would recommend the Fogglifter Cafe or Ruby's Kitchen. If you aren't looking for frills and high expectations in a room, then this is the place to stay to get the most bang for your buck. read more

Let me start off by saying the staff was so nice and helpful. The motel on the other hand was extremely rustic. It's definitely nothing fancy. Bed linens are old and yellowing. Room has a musty smell. Carpet is horrible. A/c loud and inconsistent. Shower although clean was hot and then cold every single time. Your given two towels and a couple wash cloths. The price is about the only redeeming quality of this place. But I guess you get what you pay for. As soon as I pull into the parking lot, there are questionable people loitering, seemingly using this hotel as a place to meet up. While in my room I found it hard to sleep because there were people constantly stomping around the porch/room above me, constant slamming of doors & people talking loudly outside throughout the night. If all that noise wasn't enough, their water pipes are extremely loud so when the person above me decided to shower multiple times in the middle of the night, it was just another annoyance that kept me up. I can barely remember the quality of the room because the constant stomping wad the only thing I could focus on. Although, I did notice several stains on the carpet & the dingy smell of the room. Lastly, as I finally settled in and thought the ruckus had stopped, one of the unsavory hotel patrons knocked on my door which alerted my dog & he started barking. Hopefully my dogs' barking caused the potential drunk to not mess with me. I would only recommend this hotel if you're 1) tight on cash 2) have a dog or 3) a heavy sleeper. Actually, on second thought, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. **Update At 3am I was startled awake to door slamming, foot stomping, cursing & homophobic slurs being traded between the people in the room above me. It went on for at least 15-20 minutes. Later during the day I was talking to locals and apparently the Rustic Inn is where all the construction workers, contractors stay & unsavory characters alike. read more

Don't expect much. Three towels and one washcloth unless we're missing something because our maid left our door open all day. Thankfully only the charm of this place was stolen. If you expect a microwave or couch in your room, don't. Positives are the location and beauty of McCall. read more

The RUSTIC Inn says it all. The webmaster for this hotel needs a raise, as this is the only positive comment that I can make. Over priced for this hotel is an understatement. The staff could make their own movie Planes Trains and Automobiles. My list of everything that was wrong, would be to long for this post. Just read and believe everyone else's posts, they say it all. Place was clean, front desk staff was polite and had good suggestions of things to do in McCall. Location was excellent, 5-10 min walk to downtown. 4 stars only due to night time road noise which is something they can't really change but not good if you are a light sleeper. Would stay here again if visiting McCall read more

Stayed here in April of 2016. Clean and comfortable. Accommodating & friendly staff. Minimum frills. Coffee & pastries were available in the office for breakfast. Nothing fancy but no complaints. Just needed a place to spend one night while traveling. read more

This place was very good! Great price for being in such a tourist/beautiful destination town. Our room was very nice and spacious with one queen bed and a nice sitting area with a couch and bar with stools. The room had been updated recently for everything was fresh and clean. The linens were the best I've used in a hotel or maybe anywhere! Which is important to me. Our only complaint is the shower/bath slowly drained so at the end of a 10 minute shower I had a few inches of water around my feet which kind of sucked. But I have found most hotels have crappy somewhat clogged drains. Another plus to this place is they allow dogs! Overall great place, definitely stay here and go to McCall, ID. read more

Clean, has all the basic amenities for a ski weekend and dog friendly rooms with no extra charge. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles but definitely worth the price and location. Shower was hot but the faucet was installed for someone under 5 feet and you can definitely hear your neighbors. We had a great stay. read more

Where do I begin.....My husband and I decided to stay in McCall at the last minute. Rustic Inn had the only vacancy in town. The door to rm 54 had been kicked in at one time or another and instead of replacing the jam etc..... they put 4 latch plates on to hold the bolt in place. The shower nozzle was broken and sprayed water all over the bathroom. If these weren't enough to ponder; the shower bar was falling out of it's anchor. The micro wave and coffee maker were in the bathroom. There wasn't a phone in the room, an iron but no board. The carpet had questionable spots everywhere. Save yourself a sleepless night and stay far, far away from the Rustic Inn. read more

The rustic Inn is as its name states rustic. Here's my take. Positives, price and location. The staff was friendly and nice. The scoop... it really is on the run down side the TV in room 53 constantly shuts down and reboots, very annoying. I saw that someone else mentioned the tv doing that in an earlier post so staff should be aware. Lots of construction workers stay here so be aware that there will be loud trucks, late nighters and early risers. There is smoking and drinking on the front decks even though it's marked no smoking. The workers are nice just there doing that. The bedding needs to be updated, no telling how many naked construction butts have sat on them. Time for new ones. The room is sparse but everything except the tv functioned. Overall better than motel 6 less than best western. I'm not trying to talk you out of staying here. It could be so much better with a little initiative on the owners part. Happy travels. read more

We came to McCall on a whim and couldn't get a cabin. Since we were staying less than 24 hours, gave this place a try due to the price and good Yelp reviews. It's hard to fault anything with this place because the name says it all upfront and it certainly is "rustic." The wood paneling on the walls put me off and my husband thought it was funny. We agreed that the room smelled like an old, used RV. Room was clean enough I suppose, it was hard to tell, but the bedding was clean. The floor is covered in a stained office-like carpet and the bathroom has vinyl flooring and a plastic shower/bath insert. No frills so bring your own shampoo, soap, etc. The vent fan in the bathroom was extremely load and rattly. The mattresses seemed worn and were not very comfortable. We could also hear our neighbors through the walls. On the plus side, there was a fridge and we got breakfast at a grocery store the night before to eat on the road. The hooks on the coat rack were also handy for our clothes after a day of swimming. All in all, an affordable option, especially if you aren't staying long and don't mind "roughing it." If not, you can spend another $20 more and stay at a chain hotel in town. read more

VERY NOISY! Thin walls. Heater rattled all night. Plumbing noises VERY noticeable all night. People constantly slamming doors, knocking on doors. Toothpaste spatter noticeable on backsplash from other guests. Hole in bathroom wall from door knob. Bed was clean from what I could tell. New shower insert. If you want a "rustic" experience, better to sleep in the woods in a tent. You'll get a better nights sleep. read more

We were part of the people that had been displaced by the fire at the Americas best value inn on Feb 25th. We were sitting in our car when we were told we would have to find a new hotel room, since the rustic inn was right across the street, I decided to call them and get us a room. I told them I had a 7 yr old and 4 month old and he said that he had something for us, but to give him 10 minutes to put the sheets on the beds.....i told him that was fine because we hadn't gotten our stuff out of our other hotel yet. 30 minutes later we showed up at the hotel to check in. He told me to give him another 10 minutes because the beds still weren't made. I told him again that was fine because I figured they got busy, so we went for a drive for 30 minutes, when we came back the beds still not made. At the Americas best value inn I was able to book the Jacuzzi king suit for 103$ with accommodations of a roll away bed, crib for my baby, swimming pool, hot tub, and continental breakfast. When I checked in here I asked if they had the beds for my children which they didn't which is fine so we took a room with 2 queen beds which were upstairs and very inconvenient, had they had any kind of beds for the children we could have gotten a king sized bedroom downstairs that would have been more accommodating for us. I would have even had my son sleep on the floor and have my baby just sleep with my friend and i, I'm glad I didn't do that because the room we got, the floors were disgusting! I couldnt have let my son sleep on the floor here, there were stains everywhere, and there was a huge koolaide stain that didn't look like it was even cleaned all. The shower was gross, and the beds not being made, the sheets were hanging over the chairs touching the floors that were gross. I helped him get the beds together after over an hour. They should have been put together already. My son was so ready to just sleep, that's why I finally ended up helping so he could just crash out after the night we had. It was a nightmare! Had I known what kind of experience we would have had here, I would have called around to see what else we could get, that's why when I called I was specific on what we needed for accommodations and I feel that I ended up having to pay to much for this room after everything we went through. I paid 97$ and that was after he gave me a 5$ discount, which I feel was more like a slap in the face than a discount, because we still had to go find breakfast. I would have paid anything to make my babies happy. We came up here for my birthday and it ended up a nightmare. While I know it's not their fault for the fire, I would have thought that with seeing the hotel on fire they would have gotten the rooms ready before people even started calling, so they were prepared and I didn't expect to pay more for a LOT less value and accommodations. I would never stay here again. I like to travel and this hotel is not worth 100$ a night without offering anything to their customers. Customer service is everything to me and the way things are handled is huge for me and I feel we were wronged in this situation. They are amazing at the other hotel and obviously we aren't paying over there but they are still willing to do more above and beyond to get us to come back. read more
