This remodeled historic hotel with just 19 rooms is a jewel in western Idaho for the price. In the heart of downtown McCall with many great places to eat. Free parking. Indoor pool and fitness center. FREE wiFi and cont breakfast. Hot water and great bath or shower. The drive to the North along the Samon River is breathtaking from location. Hotel near edge and marina of Lake Payette. The staff knows how to run a hotel. STAY and tell them Sam on Yelp said so....a grest night of rest. My only issue for older folks is the jetted tub which is 18" high so a big step to get in.

Hotel McCall is a charming hotel in the heart of McCall. I've drove by this hotel for years and have never stayed there until my friend booked a room over the 4th of July weekend. This hotel was built in 1904 and since then the rooms have been remodeled. The staff are extremely friendly and every night they serve complimentary beer, wine, cookies, and milk. They even have a library of dvd movies both new and old, fitness center, pool, and each room has a jacuzzi. The only downside is that the continental breakfast was lacking...they only served the basics such as toast, muffins, yogurt, bananas, and coffee. Thankfully Fogglifter is next door for those hearty eaters. The other downside is there's no fridge in the rooms to store drinks and food. But overall this hotel was worth the stay!

Continental breakfast?

Little did we know that was the only "great" of the evening. Water and menu's arrived after 10 minutes. "Server will be with you". Ha! Another 10 minutes. Caught the water guy again and asked for the wine menu. Leaves, see him consult with bar tender. Comes back and says it is in the back of menu he gave us. We say, "No, this only has wine by the glass. We are looking for "bottles". He scurries around looking at menus on other tables and then back for more consultation with bar tender. All the while I see what I think is the wine menu standing up at the end of the bar. Just as I am getting ready to go get what I think is the menu, it appears. And then the long lost server appears. We ask for a glass of rose for me and a bottle of Grgich Merlot for my husband and for dinner. He returns with glass of rose and a glass of red wine. "No, we want a bottle", we say and point to menu. More time elapses, he returns and says, "no Grgich". We had planned a back up and asked for a bottle of Walla Walla Tempernillo. Again point to menu. He disappears again, even more time elapses, and he returns with a bottle of Cabernet from the bar. So, at this point we surrender, deciding he doesn't know where the wine cellar is located, and accept the bottle. Wait. The saga continues: server returns and asks about dinner. We order. He disappears for another 5 minutes. Returns with his order pad and asks again what we would like for dinner. We order again. He appears to write order down. Salad comes. We finish it. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrives with husband's entree. Places it between us. Bad sign. Another long wait. I tell Phil to go ahead and eat. Flag different server and ask about my entree. Original server reappears. He asks surprised. Hurries off. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrived with another of husband's entree not mine! "No, we say we ordered steak and fries." Phil finishes his meal. Time elapsed. Finally, my steak arrives. All this time original server walks by and makes no eye contact. Bar tender comes by to clean table and offer a take away box. We decide against dessert and ask for bill. Husband goes to bar to pay bill, consults with bar tender and he goes and gets the manager. Manager excuses. Goes away and returns with new bill that removes glasses of wine and reduces entrees by 50%. The end of our fine dining experience. Laugh ourselves silly all the way to the car. Recommendations: 1. Don't plan a birthday dinner on Monday during the shoulder season at Shore Lodge 2. Just go to Salmon River Brewing Company.

The area also has a nice big hot tub. There is no limit on how many people can use the pool and in the evening it was very crowded. The hotel also has a small gym which was empty most of the time. The breakfast was nice, a lady serves you food. They had cooked oatmeal only once and then they transitioned to packaged oatmeal which was disappointing. The room itself wasn't that clean, I found trash under the bed. Overall, a nice stay.

A short lady, blonde hair, middle aged lady with glasses! I want even get into all the ways that she was rude but she just had such a bad attitude and really didn't care if we stayed there next time or not. It seemed that she had a bad day or just hated her job. I recommend the hotel but I do not recommend the staff. I did complain to the manager about His insubordinate employee. He really didn't seem to care and I knew he wouldn't be doing anything about it. I wouldn't stay here since there are so many other choices of hotels. I had a much better pleasant stay and the hotel was actually nicer at the Best Western just half mile up the street on past trips. Also the hotel McCall is about $20 cheaper per night!

We chose the Nordic Inn based on the two Yelp reviews available. I can't find any evidence of correspondence but I thought I had let them know that it was our anniversary. When we arrived in McCall, it was about 11 am. We inquired of the woman at the counter about early check-in. She really didn't answer, just smiled and indicated that 3 pm was check-in time. It was an odd exchange. We asked about recommendations for restaurants for lunch. She just said "Everything is good". Not much help. When we came back, just after 3, the office was locked and another man was waiting. We stood there another five minutes, wondering what was going on, before a woman showed up, explaining that she was in the laundry room, taking care of a problem. She was nice and cheerful, and got us checked in fairly quickly. We were given a first floor room. Our small window was facing the stairwell. For our anniversary. The room was small but clean. There is a cool glass and metal barn door covering the bathroom entrance. The vanity and bathroom/shower are very small. There was no box of tissues in the room. The shower water pressure is weak. The fan works great. The AC works fine. There is a shortage of electrical outlets, none on my side of the king bed. The bed was reasonably comfortable. The property is located on the main drag, a medium walk from the lake and main downtown area. Dark wood and rustic looking. The parking lot could stand to be repaved. When we checked out, about 10:45 am, there was no one in the office. We dropped the keys in the box. We will definitely return to McCall, but I don't think we'll be back to the Nordic Inn.

We also liked your pet friendly policy. The kitchen appliances worked well. The bathroom towels were nice. We were surprised that the cabin was advertised to sleep 11, 4 adults and 7 children. We cannot imagine where you would put all those people in that cabin. Our party was 2 adults and a dog. The small common space (kitchen, eating area, LR space) seemed like it would comfortably accommodate 4 people, perhaps 6 max. There is only one bath - one toilet and shower space. No 1/2 bath. That's tough if there are 11 in the cabin. There is no storage/cupboard space in the kitchen for dry groceries. At all. Thankfully, again, it was just 2 of us, so we put our stuff on the counter. in the kitchen, there were insufficient dishes silverware, or glassware (seriously, only 6 dinner knives?) for a group of 11. For a big group, maybe they store their extra dry goods in their car and bring in as needed. Same for clothing storage. One bedroom has a small closet and some pegs to hang clothes from. The other bedroom, nothing, other than some weird peg thing on the back of the door. The loft, when I checked it out, had no storage. So, I guess everyone lives out of duffle bags/suitcases. And the loft is a 90 degree hike on a wooden ladder. if your kiddo is less than 4 or 5, you need to assign as older kiddo in case they need to climb down in the night. There is a damaged door to one of the bedrooms, which we later saw mentioned in an earlier online review. The shower had black mold in it, and there was a good deal of grout missing from the tiles in the bathroom. The mini-split aircon-heater when turned on exuded an odor of urine. Perhaps the filter needs to be cleaned more regularly. Most of the windows didn't open. 1 parking spot for the cabin. There was a random dog on the property, barking, etc. Really irritating. The property owners live in Boise. There are no on site property managers.
