This Super 8 was way overpriced. I get it. McCall is out there and it's a hot vacation spot, but the stay is absolutely not worth ~$170 per night. If you're only here for a special event, maybe that's not a big deal, but otherwise it seemed unreasonable. The staff members were very friendly, I'll give them that. The room was meh. The bed had four small, square pillows, not ones you'd expect for a bed. The A/C was useless. It's 90 degrees out and you put the A/C on the coldest setting, with high fan speed. What happens? It blows cool air for about 5 minutes, then shuts off for 10 minutes. It went back on for 5 and off again for 10, repeating the cycle. The room never had an opportunity to properly cool down. The hot tub was "out of order" and breakfast in the morning was lackluster. They couldn't manage to put one piece of fruit out? Not even an apple or banana? It was 6:30 AM, so I know for a fact that they did not run out. You're much better off supporting a locally run inn/motel nearby. I travel and stay at a lot of Wyndham properties, including all kinds of Super 8 locations, but this one fell below expectation. read more

Why stay anywhere else? This property is located near the Lake Fork side of town. The room was amazing, the breakfast a real treat, and they are extremely pet friendly. The staff was friendly, and welcoming. Luke assisted me with ensuring us that our reservation included our two pups, I can't recall the name of the lady that checked us in, but she was helpful and gave great suggestions for dinner plans, and Shawn checked us out at the end of the trip. Had the best experience of ANY super 8 in our lives! I don't know what these folks are talking about on any of these negative reviews. The guy who checked us in was over the top helpful with everything! Even had Fran hot chocolate chip cookies to offer us after coming in from a cold cold night! Alexandria was so informative during breakfast on a Sunday. She gave us all the local info we needed to know. She went out of her way to help us. You guys are lucky to have her representing your hotel! Clean rooms! I wish for a workout center or a pool but the service out did any of those wants! read more

$175 a night??!!!! Because a kids hockey tournament? OMG total rip off!! It's a super 8 !! The worst thing.. the ignorant people slamming their room doors EVERY TIME THEY LEFT THEIR ROOMS!!! It's possible to close it softly, I did it!!! Maybe put a method on each door that slowly closed them so that the rooms of those who have common sense don't shake with vibrations and also wake you up!! The room was spotless and smelled fresh and clean. It was reasonably priced. Check in was easy. I reserved our room online but on checking in, the staff didn't ask for my ID or credit card, despite a sign on the counter stating both were required. They only asked for my signature. The beds are really firm, to the point where any movement my husband made, it woke me. We stayed two nights and I didn't sleep well on either night. Our room seemed quiet enough. The hot tub was warm but the area was neglected. There were dirty towels all over and no clean towels on the shelves. Continental breakfast is offered from 6 am to 10 am. We went down for breakfast Saturday morning before 8 and there was no coffee left, no milk for cereal, no creamer or half and half. There was a bagel, a few muffins left, juice and some hard boiled eggs. There were brown bananas. I got an oatmeal packet but there were no spoons left. A woman was waiting at the front desk to get service and nobody was at the desk or attending to the breakfast area. Sunday my husband went down before 7:30 for coffee (I didn't see the point in getting dressed to go down after the way things were Saturday). There was no coffee creamer or half and half. He brought me coffee. The front desk told him the only creamer available was the plastic packets with dry powder and sweetener in the rooms. I'm not sure we'd stay here again. The only thing that impressed me here was the cleanliness of the room and location. I think the one front desk woman we saw the whole weekend is trying to do everything by herself day and night. read more

The Super 8 in McCall has EXCELLENT customer service!! Some of the best customer service I've experienced while staying at a hotel/motel, and my husband and I travel pretty often. It was a busy weekend with what was supposed to be the Winter Festival Weekend, no thanks to COVID :-( but we still got treated as if we were the only guest there. We called and asked if we could check in early since we arrived in town early, and they were more than happy, with no extra charge. When we arrived, my mom's room had a clogged sink, but they addressed it immediately, and they also left us a note apologizing for the inconveinance and a box of Sour Patch Kids thanking us for not being sour. :-D It was such a sweet find when we got back from playing in the snow! Other reviews say it was noisy, but we didn't hear a thing, and, like I mentioned, it was a busy weekend for them. The continental breakfast was good, comprised of waffles, bagels, yogurts, cereal. It was a bummer they didn't have fresh fruit, but if that was the biggest problem, we would have been good. LoL. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the rooms thermostat was super finicky. It was SO HOT in both my Mom's room, and our room, and we couldnt get it evened out. We even had it down to 60 degrees to try and cool down the room. Luckily, our bed was next to a window, so I opened the window. My Mom and the kids in that room weren't as lucky. They were super hot that night. That would be my only recommendation if you like sleeping in cooler temps, request a room with a window next to the bed. As far as the room is concerned, you get what you pay for. Fair rates, tolerable room. But as far as the manager of the place goes, and the over-the-phone service, it was GREAT, GREAT, GREAT! Rooms: Eh. Not a Meh, not a whoa, not a psh. Room was... ok. Shower was small. On rooms alone I'd have given this place a 3. Service: Here are all the things they did for us without any pushing, shoving, complaining, or whining: Gave us a competitive rate (gave us the online booking price since it was cheaper) for the room, upgraded us for free when they discovered extra room available, moved our room close to the pet area, ALLOWS ANIMALS, gave us early check-in and late check-out at no additional cost, treated us with respect. Every employee we talked to was friendly and happy. They did not rain on our vacation parade. I would give this place 6 stars if I could! Thanks management staff! read more

This is the best hotel in which I have ever stayed. Please note that we checked in on a Saturday and Idaho is a dry state on Sundays (meaning, stock up on booze before 10PM Saturday). My boyfriend and I and his parents stayed here Labor Day Weekend, 2013. Both couples got their own room. I booked our room for less than $120. Free Wi-Fi and cable, a great large Jacuzzi tub, and a Queen-sized bed in a smoking room. Since I'm currently enrolled in school, Wi-Fi was a must-- and it was very dependable. The Jacuzzi tub was more than he or I could have asked. He really enjoyed not having to leave the hotel to enjoy a cigarette. It was a great experience. The boyfriend and I didn't get to bed until at least 2 AM. In the morning, the breakfast exceeded everyone's expectations. My boyfriend brought me back a bagel with jams, butter, and a plain yogurt. His mother got waffles with butter and syrup. For someone used to California hotels at California prices-- this hotel was more than I ever could have expected for the price. Horrible experience with hotel. Stayed for the weekend and regretted staying at this place. Every night the group in the next room was having a party- loud music, slamming of hotel door and loud talking this went on till 2 or 3 in the morning. Tried to call the front desk multiple times and no one would answer the phone. Numerous other guests were going to this other person's door yelling at the guests to turn it down. This went on both nights , it was ridiculous. The hot tub is more a hot bath tub. No jets in tub that seem to work, just lame. I wouldn't bother with this place. Poorly run and managed. read more

Went for a quick weekend getaway. Tried calling twice to let them know we'd be checking in late, and let the phone ring for at least three minutes both times, no answer. Sent an email, that wasn't received because the clerk doesn't have access to the office for emails. Beau was the clerk who checked us in and was incredibly friendly and thorough with direction to parking that would be closest to our room, hours of the hot tub, and breakfast. He even said if we needed breakfast prior to 6am, he would do what he could to round something up. When I didn't have my husband's Wyndham reward number handy, he said he'd try to look it up. When I told him I'd check back later so someone else could get checked in, he thanked me for being kind and understanding. Later in the evening there was a hand written note under the door that he found the Rewards account and got our nights added. The property was well maintained and clean. Moved the night stand away from the wall to use as a card table and noticed the edge of the carpeting could have been vacuumed, but it truly was probably only a few weeks since it had been done. Our second night was a tad irritating with bad neighbors who didn't adhere to the rule of not leaving pets unattended in the room and we listened to a yappy dog for quite a while (obviously not in the hotel's control), but when my husband called the desk several times and went out to the desk twice, crickets. Then these same neighbors didn't seem to understand that even though the doors slam, they didn't have to let it. It was a lovely 5:30am wake up call and several more times after that. When I checked out, I mentioned these issues to P. She asked what room we stayed in and took a note of our neighbor issues and thanked me for speaking up. Breakfast was par for continental. My only real issue with the hotel itself was the joke they play on everyone with "pillows." We had a king size bed with 4 couch throw size pillows. I regretted forgetting my own pillow. It is apparent no one who actually uses these pillows are the ones who chose them. I'll pay a little more a night for real pillows, Wyndham! read more

This is a really nice and clean super 8. However, many of the guest at this hotel are trashy, but at least respectful. Plus the walls are super thin and you can hear every word your neighbor says next door. I recommend spending the extra money and going to the holiday inn express down the road. Don't stay here unless the holiday inn express is all sold out. read more

This is a dirty bug-ridden pit of a place with rude, uneducated people both managing and clerking. Tim (the manager, who should be fired because of his marginal business practices--and yes, you can read between the lines here) and at least one of his front desk clerks, Jlynna, I swear are running some other type of business. It is impossible getting their attention and that is really a problem when the sheets have other people's fluids still on them, when the toilet rim is filthy and when the bathtub hasn't been cleaned for months. There are MANY many many nice places to stay in McCall. Ever since Tim took over as manager, this has become the very worst place to stay--not only in McCall, but in Idaho or the Pacific Northwest. Go down the road. Even go to Cascade. But DON'T stop at Super 8 unless you don't mind other people's filth in your bed. Better Business Bureau, please pay attention. This Super 8 is the worst I've ever stayed at. We've stayed here for over 12 years and have seen 4 different managers come and go. Tim and help like Jlynna are running this previously-nice place into the ground with their other-business activities. read more

Can you love a Super 8, you bet you can, Loved this place. First experience could be listed as "How to be happy while your stuck in a snow storm", they loved my dog, the staff called him, "the friendly dog," and made a fuss to make him feel welcome too. Nice clean rooms, not full of perfumes and sprays that I appreciated. The night was dark and it was snowing hard, they had a pet walk area to the back and it was not far from the door. Inside the coffee was 24 - 7 and the hot cocoa was yummy quality brand. Experience number 2 was after a trip to the hospital there and they once again with out a reservation found room for us my mom me and my dog. On a recent longer than necessary road trip we needed to stop somewhere that would take in the pugster ... and we ended up so pleasantly surprised. Not only does Super 8 not charge for dogs under 25lbs (yeah us for having the skinniest pug ever!) but we found the establishment quite nice. I think this is actually fairly common in resort towns - for chains that aren't so nice in bigger cities to actually have pretty nice accommodations in resort towns (but the price of course reflects that). If only the towels weren't like small squares of sandpaper and I didn't need to request many more pillows, I'd give it one more star. The staff was also superbly nice. read more

My son and I stayed for 2 nights on our way to Kalispell, Montana. Rooms were clean andup to date. Not sure if the motel is newer but very nice. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The motel had the contiental breakfast which included fruit, waffles, muffins, cereal, juice, coffe, etc. Nice not to have to look for a restaurant in an area that we were not familiar with. Very Poor Customer Service / Dirty Hot Tub My wife and I booked the Suite for our anniversary. We had some questions while booking online so we called the hotel. Once our question was answered we decided to book the room. They wanted to charge us a surcharge for booking by phone after some debate they agreed to book the room at the online rate. When we arrived to check in they had booked us into the smoking suite. The front desk thought the best solution would be to give us a bottle of air freshener. We were told that the non smoking suite was double booked for the second night of our stay so we would have to take another room. After checking around and finding no other available rooms for the holiday weekend we resolved to take a standard room. We were given a $10 total discount on our 2 night stay. Hardly makes up for their mistake in double booking a room. Hot Tub Issue. The main reason we booked the suite in the first place was it has a private hot tub which the replacement room of course did not have. After a day of playing in the snow we decided to use the public hot tub. We found a family with two small kids jumping in and out of the hot tub as if it were a swimming pool, no towels available so we had to use the towels from our room. On the second day when we again tried to use the hot tub we found empty beer cans and food containers. Chewing gum and wet towels on the floor and a coffee cup floating in the tub. Needless to say not the relaxing experience we were expecting. It's a Super 8 not a 5 star resort I understand that, but that is no excuse for rude treatment from front desk staff and a hot tub that is unusable. read more

Very disappointed. The rooms are not bad at all. Decent rooms for the price in McCall. The bad review is because of the lack of customer service. If there were any issues the staff would blame each other instead of just simply apologizing to the customer and fixing the issue. Not very good management practices. Refrigerator did not work and there was no offer to fix it right away or even mention that they would fix the problem before the next night. We ended up getting checked out of our rooms early because of a fault of the staff not communicating. Had to recheck in which took an unusually long time because there "computer system" was not working properly. Never once while having issues did I feel like the staff wanted to fix the problem. Most Hotels I have stayed at offer points or some sort of compensation for issues. I do not recommend this hotel at all. Best Western by far had the best customer service and made the customer feel very welcomed. read more

The location is near the edge of of a very nice town with a beautiful lake. The hotel was generally clean, but is showing signs of its age. That is why the hotel got two stars. The staff was courteous when we could find them. Otherwise, not a very comfortable stay. The hallways had a very strong cigarette smoke smell. Even near the rooms that are designated non-smoking. The walls and floors are paper thin so all sounds outside the hotel or in adjacent rooms were easily heard in our room. Even the two lane, 25 mph road outside the hotel sounded like a highway. The AC and fridge in the room were also loud. The front desk only has a clerk if you all on their black phone. Otherwise you can seen back into the hotel laundry/maintenance room. Not a very pleasant sight to first come into when entering the hotel. They do have what might have been a nice spa, but it was scolding hot. The instructions state to verify that the temperature is between 102 and 104 degrees, but there was no thermometer available. There are many other very nice hotels in McCall, why settle for this one. read more

We've stayed in this motel several times. The manager is great, friendly and the rest of the staff are awesome as well. They accepted our lab-mix dog and didn't bat an eye. The price was really good. The place was clean. Fresh coffee at the lobby 24 hrs a day. Fresh cookies baked for the customers. A decent breakfast in the a.m. They have a coin-operated laundry. We had very pleasant stays there. read more
