The managers are trying their best to give you a memorable experience they have been upgrading the motel. Just a few more tweaks and this location will be worth your experience. Be sure to communicate with the management as they listen to your suggestions. They have ordered mini refrigerators so those should be available soon. The smell in the air of the pine and forest are worth every penny. Each room has a private deck with table and chairs overlooking the forest behind the lodge. Inside the main lodge is beautiful and clean, with a pool table and games upstairs. They also have cabins for rent and an entire house for larger groups. The cost is better than the hotels in town, and for the privacy and quiet, this is the only experience worth paying for. But if you need something, town is only a couple minutes drive. My sweety and I spent our evenings during by the pond, listening to the fountain and looking at the stars. The people here have been incredibly polite, friendly, and as helpful as you could ask for. I understand that ownership has changed hands in recent months, so don't give any heed or negative reviews. These people are not the same. Fantastic place! We HIGHLY recommend staying here. The only times we've experienced crowds is on a holiday weekend Saturday. Otherwise for skiing it's pretty tame, much more so than Bogus Basin which we avoid now. My kids have had great private and group ski lessons here. The food options are limited and we generally bring our own snacks and drinks and eat at the truck on a ski day but they do offer tasty ice cream which my kids love as a treat after a long day. We usually stop at the coffee shop every time which is pretty good but nothing to rave about. It really depends on the staff. Pizza is a good deal as a large pizza can feed our whole family lunch. We've also been in the summer and it's even more low key. You almost wonder how they stay open but man, the beauty here is just gorgeous. Renting boats through their marina has always been easy and the teens who work there are always polite. Tamarack is a resort that we will continue to support for years to come.

After getting this news, we scheduled our free weekend for our wedding since we were getting married in McCall. We stayed at Tamarack for the night of the rehearsal dinner and for the wedding night. Staff collects trash every morning and also will refill propane tanks for you if you leave the tank out, you just have to pay for the propane! We chose to get a group site as there were 3 groups in our party. The group site consisted of 4 sites forming a box around shared grass (shown in photo). Full hookups including a direct dump spot on your site! There are plenty of solo sites which each have their own grass patch (pro tip - sites around spot 77 offer a view of the river!). super dog friendly with stations throughout the park for bags and waste trash cans. The main lobby has free popcorn available for self serve. Very nice pool, hot tub and sauna, as well as a mini fitness area and showers located to the left of the lobby. 8pm-10pm is reserved for adults only. Bathrooms were literally the nicest i have ever seen (super clean!) with each private stall having a shower, sink, toilet and complimentary bathmats. bathmats only ran out once in the 4 times i used the shower. There is also access to the river from the campsites and areas for fly fishing! Full time residents stay here as well :) Overall we really enjoyed staying here and would definitely stay again!

The staff makes sure you are okay to set up and stay to answer any questions. The spaces are spread out enough to give you enough space between sites and we loved the group site of four! The common grass area in the middle was ideal to gather around and let our dogs hang out (on leashes). It was like our own little camping area. The bathrooms were the best I've ever seen camping! Individual bathrooms with showers equipped with bath mats! Very clean and the water pressure was excellent! 6 bathrooms in our area with the laundry room. A short walk from our camp site. The main check-in area had a club house with a pool/spa (adults only 18 and up from 8-10pm) with a lounge. They had some entertainment at nights (scheduled). Free popped popcorn all day, help yourself which was just like what you get at the movies - yum! RV Park is dog friendly and has a dog park and has dog areas and poop bags/dispensers thought out the park. It is close to the river so some spots have a river view and you are able to walk to the river and fish. Really loved our stay and will be back next year! Highly recommended!

However - be aware the owner is very rude/strict about noise level. The common area is fairly small for a cabin that sleeps 22 but if you spill-over from the living room & dining room to the deck area then there is enough room. The Owner doesn't want you to move any of the furniture or there is a $20 charge per piece if slightly out of place. I made a reservation for July 3 & 4 (my 30th birthday), letting the Owner know that there will be 22 of us. We had 3 very negative interactions with the owner so just be aware - I say this to give other potential renters a heads up. I'm extremely upset, I have so much anxiety still thinking about this weekend and my memories of my 30th birthday are now 100% tainted by these negative interactions.

She was screaming and I was desperately trying to lift this 400 pound machine off of my daughter while screaming for help. Thank god my 6 foot 4 brother in law ran and tip it up so we could pull her out. Her leg was bruised but thank god not broken. The guid's response? "Oh, that happens all the time. They're built to tip over." WHAT?? Stunned at her cavalier attitude I'm like, "so this is a normal experience on your trips? Do you think you should do anything differently so this doesn't happen?" She's like "I feel like you're attacking me - we did everything right." No, Perry, you didn't. The safety prep was so inadequate - you never told my daughter to keep her legs on the metal footrests (I didn't know to tell her!) nor did you explain how often they tip and what to do. And this is what haunts me - after we'd been riding 30 mins I HAPPENED TO ASK if I should pin the kill switch to my jumper. Court, the male guide (who was super kind) said "oh yeah! That's important so if you fall off the vehicle stops." Friends, had I not had that on, my daughter might not have her leg. What a different experience that would have been if they had adequate safety training. "Hey these tip a lot - so here is how to safely fall so you don't get pinned. Oh if someone tips other people need to rush and help them tip back up. And here's the kill switch you must attach to your person so the vehicle stops when you fall. And kids, keep your feet on the metal footrests because if you dangle your legs bellow them your leg will get pinned." I will say I spoke to guest relations and they were very kind. Just empathy - they still charged us the 1k for the trauma, but I did feel like they really listened and took my suggestion of giving the guides a physical checklist to go over like pilots do before flights. Like I totally get that mistakes happen, but own them. Do better next time. Care if your families have a good time or a terrible time.

We went on the Thursday evening cruise with live piano, and it was absolutely beautiful. Between the music, the mountain views, and watching the sun set over the water, it was such a relaxing and memorable experience. The staff was friendly, organized, and made everyone feel welcome from the moment we boarded. If you're visiting McCall, I highly recommend adding a cruise to your itinerary. Whether it's your first visit or you're returning after years away like I was, seeing the lake from the water gives you a whole new appreciation for how beautiful the area is.
