We love this resort. It is so gorgeous. The rooms have such a cozy cabin feel to them with a hint of luxury. The staff is so nice and accommodating. We have stayed here a few times and are always satisfied. We love their pool and hot tubs and every night they have s'more's which is so fun! read more

This is a review of my birthday dinner at the Shore Lodge Bar. Arrived around 6 pm. Few customers in bar. Sat at a high table for eating with great view of the lake. Little did we know that was the only "great" of the evening. Water and menu's arrived after 10 minutes. "Server will be with you". Ha! Another 10 minutes. Caught the water guy again and asked for the wine menu. Leaves, see him consult with bar tender. Comes back and says it is in the back of menu he gave us. We say, "No, this only has wine by the glass. We are looking for "bottles". He scurries around looking at menus on other tables and then back for more consultation with bar tender. All the while I see what I think is the wine menu standing up at the end of the bar. Just as I am getting ready to go get what I think is the menu, it appears. And then the long lost server appears. We ask for a glass of rose for me and a bottle of Grgich Merlot for my husband and for dinner. He returns with glass of rose and a glass of red wine. "No, we want a bottle", we say and point to menu. More time elapses, he returns and says, "no Grgich". We had planned a back up and asked for a bottle of Walla Walla Tempernillo. Again point to menu. He disappears again, even more time elapses, and he returns with a bottle of Cabernet from the bar. So, at this point we surrender, deciding he doesn't know where the wine cellar is located, and accept the bottle. Wait. The saga continues: server returns and asks about dinner. We order. He disappears for another 5 minutes. Returns with his order pad and asks again what we would like for dinner. We order again. He appears to write order down. Salad comes. We finish it. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrives with husband's entree. Places it between us. Bad sign. Another long wait. I tell Phil to go ahead and eat. Flag different server and ask about my entree. Original server reappears. He asks surprised. Hurries off. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrived with another of husband's entree not mine! "No, we say we ordered steak and fries." Phil finishes his meal. Time elapsed. Finally, my steak arrives. All this time original server walks by and makes no eye contact. Bar tender comes by to clean table and offer a take away box. We decide against dessert and ask for bill. Husband goes to bar to pay bill, consults with bar tender and he goes and gets the manager. Manager excuses. Goes away and returns with new bill that removes glasses of wine and reduces entrees by 50%. The end of our fine dining experience. Laugh ourselves silly all the way to the car. Recommendations: 1. Don't plan a birthday dinner on Monday during the shoulder season at Shore Lodge 2. Just go to Salmon River Brewing Company. read more

We had a very nice stay here. In a great location with a beautiful view of the lake. It is built in the 40's, with that said, it does have a weird layout for getting to your room. Funky staircases. When we opened our door there was about a 12" piece of floor then a step up into the room. Once in the room it is appointed very nicely. Nice cozy decor and comfortable furniture. The bed was nice and we had no problems sleeping. Our view was not so nice, we tried for a view room but there were none available. We had a view of the roof. Bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and toilet. Laking was a closet. There was none. No place to hang clothes. There was a chest of drawers but we hang everything so that was a problem. We managed. Well stocked with hairdryer, shampoo and conditioner, iron, soaps etc. We ate snacks in the bar one evening and the service was sort of slow and the drinks tasted watered down. Disappointing. The Truffle fries were very good. Also had the Cheese and Charcuterie Platter. While it was good, it is not worth $25.00. We went back a second afternoon for more snacks and drinks. This time the service was very slow. There were 2 servers for the whole bar. We ordered the Bang Bang Cauliflower which was good but skimpy portions. Overall the food is quite expensive for what you get. Just had beer this visit so can't go wrong with that. We woke up one morning to no heat. We had turned it way down the night before but when we got up it was still just 60 in the room. We waited for heat but nothing. Called downstairs after 15 minutes and they said it "takes awhile" to come on. It eventually did. The gift shop is well stocked but like any resort, spendy. Staff was friendly and helpful when we needed them. Would stay again. read more

The Manager Justin and Assistant Manager Kieth refuse to help after over charging us over $1200. They refuse to call me back to even discuss the discrepancy and when I call to speak to the manager, the Assistant Manager Kieth intercepted my call, lied to me about Justin being gone for the next week, And told me that "the conversation is over" without ever going through the details. This is a beautiful resort but beware of these people. I booked two rooms with a boat slip, ate all our meals there, bought in their gift shop, yet I'm not worth a return call or an audit of the billing and charges. I will never visit this hotel again. Kieth and Justin should be fired if the hotel values their customers. read more

I get the tradition, the location, and in general, the service but like many such icons, the present reality starts to lose out to nostalgia as the value of the iconic brand is slowly milked over time. When I visit this place, and read others reviews, I get the impression that's what's happening and they have some work to do if they want to keep, or should I say rebuild, their fine reputation. I get all that: faded icon. What I don't get are the rooms. First, to get to your room (mine was on the first floor) you have walk down a long, dark corridor with a low ceiling, so the whole thing is vaguely claustrophobic. Now, the room. When I'm on a lakefront I want a nice, light breezy room. Here my room was dark, dark, dark. Dark walls. Dark carpet. Dark furniture. Worse yet, there was no master on/off switch so I literally had to use the flashlight on my phone to find the light switches. Make no mistake, the room is very nice, with a great view. But it's dark. There are even two chairs in front of a faux gas fireplace that have no lighting whatsoever. You couldn't read a book in them. Worse yet, from both a light and view perspective, the curtains are installed such a way that you cannot actually open them all the way to expose the window all the way on the left (see pictures). That's because there is a heater in the wall and they want to keep the curtains away from it, but the result is you can't open the curtains and one of the two major windows is fully obscured. Finally, while they do offer in-room dining it's basically impossible to find on the website and sourced entirely from The Cutaway. In general, and certainly during a pandemic, they should really offer food from both the informal restaurant (which has a fairly limited dinner menu) and the steakhouse. C'mon guys. read more

Visited this place with family during fall. They can accommodate bigger families by having attached rooms. They have a movie theater that you can rent out and nightly s'mores stuff set out. The food is unfortunately nothing to write home about and that goes about most of the other food in that little town as well. The heated pool and jacuzzi area is nice and the gym was lovely. They have a good number of weights and machines in there all in good shape. They have two pickeball courts but with pretty broken down paddles. Some nice quiet hikes around. The place gets busy on the weekend. Seems like the locals like to hang out there. Staff is nice and pretty helpful. They have valet parking but a lot of times when you pull up there's no one manning it. We ended up preferring to self park. It was a quiet, nice getaway but not sure would want to come here more than once. read more

Loved the shore lodge until we hosted a big event, some key materials and birthday gifts "disappeared" from the presidential suite. Our group spent a lot of money here, and the mgmt doesn't even return our follow up calls. They don't answer the phone at front desk days in a row. Staff is very nice but over worked or under trained. Would like to resolve the missing items, but even after a room block of a dozen rooms and booking the banquet room multiple nights, cannot get a call back from staff - Needs improvement, and guests deserve better. read more

The location is amazing, it's a good thing too, frustration and disappointment are around every corner. The food was way below expectations. The staff seemed new and lacked training. Be prepared for frustrations without solutions and delays without explanation. It was a disappointment in a beautiful place. Accommodations were nice, but the pillows were VERY flat. read more

We loved our stay here. The place was built, I believe in the 1940's. We liked the older lodge atmosphere. We didn't expect a modern, bright place and that was fine with us. It's got character! Our room was clean and comfortable. We were woke up in the middle of the night with noisy neighbors but a call down to the office immediately took care of it. Personally, I had a poor experience here. I checked in spontaneously around 2pm with no major expectations other than a clean room and a few amenities. I was not told about any amenities at check in so I had to explore for myself, not the most welcoming feeling but no big deal I thought. Right off the bat, I noticed my room smelled of gasoline and/or wood burning fire. I figured the heater just hadn't been ran in a while and that the smell would fade. It only grew stronger. I got up to open the window and found the window wide open to the parking lot with no window screen, which was concerning as rodents could easily enter the ground level room this way. Eventually I gave into the fact that I could not sleep with my face under the sheet breathing through my mouth, and starting to feel sick. So I went to the front desk. The only remedy the hotel could offer was to move me to a lower floor (below ground level). Since I was already feeling uneasy about what I'd been breathing in, going further down in the building felt suffocating to me. Additionally, the hotel was full with a huge party/event and incredibly loud with party'ers up and down the halls. So I decided to pack up and check out. I drove back to Boise in the middle of the night in a snow storm, if that's any indication of how I felt about the experience. And again, I had no major expectations. Just a clean room and some amenities (none of which could be used with the large party there, spa booked, no access to spa pools w/o appt, pool closed, above ground hot tubs always full). I called the hotel and was offered a refund of the room taxes I paid, -$30, but that's all they were willing. Won't be back or recommend. Not welcoming or comfortable which is what accommodations should be, here it was quite the opposite for me personally. read more

The Shore lodge...where do I even begin. The lodge is beautifully set right on the Lake in McCall. The views are breath taking. Our room was clean, well decorated, and on the dark side but didn't bother me. The views of the lake from the deck were amazing and so peaceful. The staff was all so friendly and helpful during our entire stay. The outdoor pool and hot tub setting is so nice and has ample seating and a great fire pit. They offer s'mores every evening at the fire pit, which is such a nice touch. We didn't book a spa treatment this time. I do wish as a guest of the hotel you could purchase a day pass to the spa. I will definitely be back for another visit to the Shore Lodge!! read more

We have been coming here for ten years and never been in the Shore Lodge. So a few days ago we thought we'd stop in for a drink. We sat in the most beautiful bar over looking the lake and started to read the menu. One woman behind the bar who never acknowledged us. So I walked to the bar and asked if we could have a drink. She said they open at 3:00, it was 2:30. So we wandered into the mercantile gift shop just to look and see if there was anything that bought our eye, the gal there told us there is a bar downstairs that's open and they have food as well. I have been in the same industry my entire life, and in "resort" areas as well. I wish we weren't so invisible upstairs and the bartender had told us she wasn't open but right downstairs the bar is! We will be back no matter what. Just don't assume that we have been before or know the hours of operation. Communicate and make your guests feel welcome. Even if you aren't open read more

Tired Tired Tired. Trust me- the location is stunning, but to be honest- the rooms look great, but once you scratch the surface you find... issues. Bar is great, super service, great drinks - But the room smelled like a Perfumed cigarette bar from the... well, 1940's. The room although was kind of clean (patio furniture cushions were filthy- looked like a serial killer had fun out there :/) shower was mildewy and there were no screens on the windows (?) bugs everywhere. The same guy, it sounds like from previous reviews, checked me out and was condescending- fake nice, but DIDN'T take a NOTE. Anyway- I would avoid the property. Tried to stay at Shore Lodge last weekend. We expected to be able to use the facilities along with our dog as the hotel is listed as dog friendly. Upon arrival we we told by a very rude staff that the dog was resticed to the room and lobby. No dock, no beach or anywhere else. The room was $430.00 off season and was tiny and looked at the dumpsters and parking lot. The staff was so rude and although we left and refused to stay there all we heard was no from the moment we arrived. Overpriced, arrogant and not worth our time or money. read more

We have been to Shore Lodge multiple times. My husband has been coming here for over 20 years. We picked this location for a quiet, long weekend after our wedding which was a wonderful experience; three day weekend spent with close friends and family in Stanley and Hailey, ID. Couldn't have been more perfect. To begin with, our weekend at Shore Lodge for our 'honeymoon' was spent in a lower floor 'handicapped' room with two queen size beds and a bathroom equipped for those that are physically challenged, which we are not, and it had all the romance of a convalescent hospital. We asked to be moved, and there were no options available. At all. Manager said they could move us first night, (Thursday) but the rest of the weekend there were no other options. Needless to say, we weren't interested in spending our weekend moving rooms. When I complained in person, he apologized and said, "I'm really sorry, I know it's a special weekend, we just had something sent to your room'. I thought, Awwww, how nice! I went to the room and there was a lovely bottle of champagne and a beautiful Charcuterie board... FROM MY HUSBANDS ADMIN ASSISTANT. The guy made it sound like it was from the resort. What a schmuck. Two nights in a row we attempted to get reservations in the restaurant for dinner. Hostess told us they were taking no reservations, might be able to seat us at a table around 8:30 or 8:45, but could make no promises. When I asked about options, she suggested to go order or room service, but couldn't guarantee timing. Last night, Saturday, we went to a local restaurant and my husband got food poisoning. He was up all night long. Early Sunday morning, I asked if we could get a late check out so he could get some rest. The desk told me they could give me until 11:30 vs. 11:00. WOW! So accommodating. Prior to our visit I reached out to the spa regarding a massage, facials, etc. They put us on a waitlist. We received a call back... Four hours after we checked out. To give credit where it's due the service staff was great. The housekeeping service, waitresses, and other staff are very accommodating. But, the other changes to the hotel seem to spoil the ambiance and overall vibe we have always loved about the place. Needless to say, we were very disappointed in our stay. And for a sub level H/C room we were charged the full rack rate. Shore Lodge has always held so many wonderful memories for us. We love McCall. Next time we may try the cute boutique hotel down the street. read more

Went for a massage with Samantha what a INCREDIBLE kind soul. She took the time to help me with my shoulder that I have not been able to move for months. Well this lovely young lady got it working again! Can't believe that in one setting I can move it again! I couldn't stop hugging her with such joy!!! I was very impressed with this hotel. A group of friends and I made a trip to McCall for a much needed girls weekend. The rooms were nice , clean and offered a complementary turn down service each night. The pools were gorgeous and offered amazing views. The staff was friendly and the shuttle service was prompt and clean. I very much enjoyed my time here and would love to Book a return stay in the near future. read more

I have been going to the Shore Lodge for most of my life and it is always one of my favorite places. With that being said this past weekend we spent the weekend there and had a good time but I noticed for an upscale location a lot of small details were missed. Our room was dirty we had someone else's garbage in our garbage can. The bathroom was dirty as well. I didn't notice at first because we just kinda went and changed and went out, but the next morning as I was getting ready I noticed the bathroom was dirty and all the soaps and lotions had been opened and partially used. Our stir stick for the coffee had been previously used and that was just gross. Other than those few things we had a wonderful time in McCall. read more

Words cannot truly describe how amazing the Shore Lodge is. The views are spectacular! The staff were all so friendly and the on-site restaurants were fantastic! This was one of the best vacations we have had mostly due to the amazing experience at the Shore Lodge! This is a room service review. We ordered a very basic breakfast, sausage n eggs over easy for me, scrambled with hash browns for my wife, sour dough and wheat toast. They said 15-20 minutes. (I get staffing problems, but just say that, no need to start off with disappointment...) 1 No cutlery at all. (Over easy eggs...) 40 minutes later 2 No scrambled eggs. 3 No wheat toast. We call, they say we'll get that right up to you. 4 Twenty one minutes later we get the cutlery and the order. 5 We tell the front desk about this and he will not compensate us in ANY WAY. Nicest hotel in McCall. Lake is beautiful like many places they lack the help they need. Expensive stay lots of amenities they have recently made improvements to room, which was greatly needed. Our room looked out on to the lake Two issues. Shower is awful. Did not drain and the lack of grab bars is a huge liability. The room had only one chair to sit and enjoy the view. We were told by the front desk another chair would be sent in. Of course that never happened and we had to use the desk chair to enjoy the view. We have stayed here many times over the years and seem to have the same issues. Bar is always a delight read more

The only negative I experienced here was the older gentleman at the front desk check in was condescendingly nice, he just came across as very insincere and that made me uncomfortable. Everyone else was very nice and incredibly genuine. Two people really stood out, the woman at the gift shop who had the best advice on where to go and who to see and the bartender across from the Starbucks. Anyone can pour a mixed drink but not all can hit that perfect balance. We will definitely be back next year! read more

Guess how old Pat Benatar is? I almost choked on my gum when I found out this hard rocking lady is sixty years old. Of coarse, this may explain a lot when I get later on in my story... We stopped at Shore Lodge on our way to a Pat Benatar concert (at an ice rink of all places, which had terrible, terrible accoustics.) We stopped into the beautiful bar at Shore Lodge, which serves $15 hamburgers and boasts one of the best waterfront views in all of McCall, Idaho. A stunning, stunning view. A five star view. We arrived for a quick bite before the concert somewhere around 7 pm, and ordered a round of appetizers that included some truffle tater tots. Yes, these are as greasy as they sound, but darned if almost anything that involves black truffle or even truffle oil doesn't still get me to order it out of hopeful curiosity. Anyway, the burgers all arrived medium well, with almost zero pink to be found, and that's when I just had to be honest and request a do-over with our waiter. I just can't stomach a too well done burger. Even in a time crunch, some things are sacred. Clock is ticking on the concert, although its not even nine PM yet, so we should have time till the headliner. Right? After waiting far, far too long, new burgers arrive, its now 9:30 and the view is starting to dim . Next thing we are biting into what we realize are basically raw hamburger, just medium rare on the extreme outside of the patty, and then 2/3 of the patty is raw. It felt to us like a big "FU" from the kitchen. As in, "Fine lady. You wanna medium rare burger? You send my burger back? I'll show you!" Just guessing, but with the clock ticking, we opted to nibble around the edges on the barely cooked meat, leave the mostly raw patties and cut our losses. We did complain to the waiter, who made a bunch of excuses, sent the manager over, but there was never any offer to comp the drastically undercooked burgers, so we still paid for several expensive 1/4 consumed raw burgers in full, and ran out the door in time to... Catch the last two songs on the Pat Benatar line up. At sixty, it turns out that headliners really like to be in bed by 10 pm, and so all three acts that started at 7:30 pm, were done and ready to tuck into bed by 10 pm. Bad burgers, an expensive bill for food we barely ate, and barely two songs left in the set. My sister-in-law, who championed the concert, was crushed. Although I went to the concert to support her, I have to say I was looking forward to some musical time travel, and when Pat belted out "Heartbreaker" in her encore, one of only two songs we heard that entire night. Well. It seemed like she was singing just to us --the perfect song to recap our night. read more

Loved loved loved staying here with my husband for a business trip! Not only was the view picturesque but the hospitality was above and beyond! Matt at the front desk was SO extremely accommodating and sealed the deal for a 5 start review! The Cove Spa there was perfect to relax and rejuvenate. We rented a tandem kayak one day and anywhere we needed to go we could take the complimentary cruiser bikes or a free shouffer. I didn't think visiting McCall would be this great but The Shore Lodge was a definite jewel of Idaho! P.s they left cookies in our room every night for turn down service and the Snicker doodle was succulent! read more

Had the Sunday brunch this weekend. The food selection wasn't huge, but it was nice. They have a crepe station, omelet station, carving station and a shrimp canoe. Service was attentive. Only real complaint was that coffee and tea were not included in the $38 per price tag. Really? I expect to pay extra for a bloody Mary, but nickel and diming your customers is pretty sad. Water was included, so you've got that going for you. read more

A "MUST" place to stop in every time I'm in McCall. The lake view is magnificent, and the food is wonderful. I've stayed here a few times in the past. Every time, I was impressed with their excellent customer service. The rooms look somewhat outdated, but the beds are comfortable which is important!! The place is very welcoming and clean. I also enjoy making s'more over the fire pit that sits right on the beach at night. It's a little pricey, but I think it's worth it, and would definitely stay here again. read more

When we stay in McCall, we spend the bucks and stay at Shore Lodge. The amenities are top notch, the views (no matter which side of the hotel you're on) are great, and I think it's worth spending a little bit extra for the upscale experience. Rooms: With a recent remodel, all the rooms have undergone several upgrades are are very nice and classy. The only downside is the walls are pretty thin, so if you're neighboring next to a noisy room (we were next to a barking dog one night and partiers the next), you're likely to hear everything that happens. While I recommend the lake view rooms, the garden rooms aren't a disappointment. Plus, you can go hang out in The Narrows any time you're looking for a lake view! Amenities: VISIT THE COVE SPA. Spend the extra dough and go pamper yourself with a treatment. The benefit is that you get to spend as much time as you want in the hot indoor/outdoor immersion pools. It's so worth it. The pool is very nice and the hot tub is great in the winter time. The gym is also perfect for anything you might need. Wander the hotel and check out the library, the entertaining space, and take advantage of the weekly movie nights on the big screen in the theater. Also, they leave cookies on your bedside table at night! Woohoo! Service: This is the only area where I feel Shore Lodge struggles. While the service at the front is top notch (especially the valets!), my husband and I, on two different occasions, have had experiences where we've stayed there in the off-season and have been roomed right next to other occupied rooms when we were the only two booked rooms in the whole place. We did take it up with the management that we were kept up all night by a couple of partiers next door, and while no attempt to amend the situation was made, it was very disappointing. However, we still go back and love it because the experience while you're there is just great. Don't let one poor experience taint it all! Tips: If you go during the off-season, ask to NOT BE roomed next to anyone if they can manage! Visit the spa! read more

One of the rudest waitress I've experienced. I had the turkey cob salad, awful, avocados where rock hard and brown lettuce. One the waitress came to clear tables she asked if I was done and I nodded yes, she stood across the table waiting for me to hand her the plate. Expense, bad experience, won't go back. I just had lunch at The Cutwater at Shore Lodge. This is a beautiful facility but I was extremely disappointed with the very slow service, extremely mediocre meal and warm beer. The manager-at least who I was lead to believe was the manager-spent most of his time chatting with the hostesses when he should have been making sure service was going smoothly and the expensive meals met the standards one would expect for a $40 lunch. Great place for a get away but the only negative was the out of control kids every night in the pool and hot tubs. This went on way past 9:pm. There should either be a designated time for adult hours after 8 or a mandate that parents need to be in control. Kids were cannon balling into the hot tubs running and diving and not a single parent to be found. Staff was incredible and the dining options were great. read more

I used this hotel for an event for about 80 people and they were very accommodating. They have a nice parking lot they let us use, the dock area in back was beautiful and the rooms are very elegantly furnished. They have a large rec room with a pool table and shuffle board. They used to have ping pong, but they took that away because of all the pinging. The thing I didn't like was that their chef left a week before our event and they didn't tell us. The food at our sit-down dinner was terrible, and not even edible. The lunch buffet they served with actual food stations and chefs was really good, so I don't know why the huge discrepancy. Food in the restaurant otherwise was fine. They had a Baked Idaho, their version of a Baked Alaska, which was awesome and the casual lunch place downstairs was good, too. Beautiful place for a vacation. They say snowmobiling and snowshoeing is big there in the winter. And there are a lot of good restaurants just down the street from them in "town." read more

This review is based off our 3 different stays over the course of this summer and also multiple other times we've stayed here over a 3 year span. We stay here when we visit McCall because we like upscale hotels with a view and this is the best McCall has to offer. However, I don't consider this an upscale hotel. Service: Lackluster. Often the women at the front desk don't greet me with a smile. Upon check in they offer wine that you clearly see sitting there, but you have to ask for it. Special requests for rooms (like specific room location) are never granted. The restaurant and bar service is even worse. At Cutwater you wait forever to be greeted , to order and be served. There really isn't any pool side service at the pool. At the bar if you ask for dessert and it's 10:04, they say the kitchen is closed, when clearly the restaurant is still serving food. If you attempt to go for s'mores later in the evening, all s'mores supplies will be gone. I also wish that there was more help out on the docks from Marina guys. We pay to use the slip there so it would be nice to have some extra help. The Concierge though is great. Those ladies are helpful, friendly and great babysitters. Food: The menu truly does change seasonally. As in if you go May 30th, the menus will be exactally the same August 30th. It has changed only slightly over the course of 2 1/2 years (the length both of the remodeled restaurants have been open). The food isn't good. If you want a more detailed description of the food, go to Open Table and read the 2 or 3 star reviews. However I do give Narrows 3 stars because they do have a good wine list. Rooms: Gloomy. They make me feel tired and dirty. The bathroom is dark green and has no light. Who designed this? The closets have no light. I can't see what I've even brought to wear! I've never been in a darker place than in this hotel. And I haven't stayed in a noisier hotel than this one before. The sliding door that separates the living room from the bedroom is the loudest thing I've ever encountered in a hotel. You can hear the neighbors slide that damn door above you, below you and on both sides of you. It's great when you've got 2 babies that you want to continue sleeping. And yes, the walls are thin. The only reason we come back is because the balcony or beach access is wonderful. The views can't be beat and I will sacrifice my need of light and the ability to see what I actually look like for the beauty and tranquility of this place. read more

The Shore Lodge was recommended to us by a local - said make reservations and asked to be seated on the deck/dock - we did and we were! Parking was a problem - though that might have been due to a 300 person wedding reception going on that evening. But they do have valet service and, even though I hate paying to park, it was worth it. We had a ten minute wait while they set up our table (5 of us so needed two tables). As promised, were seated next to the water with an excellent view of the lake. Servers were prompt and attentive, though some thought they rushed us. Our orders included flank steak, salmon, mac & cheese, watermelon salad and creamy yellow grits. Reviews were mixed - the six year old gave a thumbs up to the m&c, the salmon was rated as very good, the flank steak was "okay", the watermelon salad was not enjoyed, but the creamy yellow (my order of course) was excellent. I'll describe it - creamy grits, topped with foraged mushrooms, truffle gouda and surrounded by sauce romesco. I know that sounds rather snobbish but whatever you want to call it, it was excellent and I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. We order a bottle of overpriced wine, but wine is always overpriced, and a "Huckletini" (the name alone should have been a tip off) - wine was pretty much what you'd expect for $32 - so/so but the mixed drink was awful (I tasted it and I swear it tasted like NyQuil!) - the person who ordered it took on sip and pushed it aside. Much to the credit of the server, she removed the drink charge from the bill. Final assessment- nice place, great view, good service and some really good food - expensive but that's kind if what you get when you do lakeside dining. read more

I come here at least once a summer and it is always an incredible experience! There is something for everyone and the scenery is over the top. Great staff! Wish the Lakefront rooms were a little quieter. Highly recommend stargazing out on the docks! read more

The location and lodge in general are gorgeous and rooms were comfortable but we had a MAJOR issue with a wedding that was being hosted at the lodge. We were unlucky placed in a lake front room right off of the reception hall. We were in town celebrating an anniversary and we're kept up until 12:30 Saturday night with drunk guests roaming the halls and pounding music vibrating our room. I understand people have weddings but to inconvenience other guests paying $400/ night is wrong. We were looking for a relaxing retreat and this one missed the ball. read more

I am in live with this hotel. It rests on the shores of the Payette Lake and it has beautiful fews of the mountains as well as the lake. This iconic hotel is a big part of McCall's history. The hotel has onsite dining, spa services, and so much more. Weddings and events this hotel is ideal. The staff is delightful and you won't be disappointed. read more
