This is a review of my birthday dinner at the Shore Lodge Bar. Arrived around 6 pm. Few customers…read morein bar. Sat at a high table for eating with great view of the lake. Little did we know that was the only "great" of the evening. Water and menu's arrived after 10 minutes. "Server will be with you". Ha! Another 10 minutes. Caught the water guy again and asked for the wine menu. Leaves, see him consult with bar tender. Comes back and says it is in the back of menu he gave us. We say, "No, this only has wine by the glass. We are looking for "bottles". He scurries around looking at menus on other tables and then back for more consultation with bar tender. All the while I see what I think is the wine menu standing up at the end of the bar. Just as I am getting ready to go get what I think is the menu, it appears. And then the long lost server appears. We ask for a glass of rose for me and a bottle of Grgich Merlot for my husband and for dinner. He returns with glass of rose and a glass of red wine. "No, we want a bottle", we say and point to menu. More time elapses, he returns and says, "no Grgich". We had planned a back up and asked for a bottle of Walla Walla Tempernillo. Again point to menu. He disappears again, even more time elapses, and he returns with a bottle of Cabernet from the bar. So, at this point we surrender, deciding he doesn't know where the wine cellar is located, and accept the bottle. Wait. The saga continues: server returns and asks about dinner. We order. He disappears for another 5 minutes. Returns with his order pad and asks again what we would like for dinner. We order again. He appears to write order down. Salad comes. We finish it. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrives with husband's entree. Places it between us. Bad sign. Another long wait. I tell Phil to go ahead and eat. Flag different server and ask about my entree. Original server reappears. He asks surprised. Hurries off. Time elapsed. Kitchen server arrived with another of husband's entree not mine! "No, we say we ordered steak and fries." Phil finishes his meal. Time elapsed. Finally, my steak arrives. All this time original server walks by and makes no eye contact. Bar tender comes by to clean table and offer a take away box. We decide against dessert and ask for bill. Husband goes to bar to pay bill, consults with bar tender and he goes and gets the manager. Manager excuses. Goes away and returns with new bill that removes glasses of wine and reduces entrees by 50%. The end of our fine dining experience. Laugh ourselves silly all the way to the car. Recommendations: 1. Don't plan a birthday dinner on Monday during the shoulder season at Shore Lodge 2. Just go to Salmon River Brewing Company.

The first thing is that this is the only proper to have been to that sales people aren't hounding you and ruining your R&R time. Upon check in the process was very seamless. All the rooms are outside so you will need to carry your bags up to your room if you're on the top floor. Inside while a little dated it was super clean with lots of space. Great small kitchen to use with all the amenities. Also family room is very spacious as well as eating areas. Plus there is a Murphy bed in the living room which sleeps an additional 2 people. They have a heated pool and a jacuzzi which felt great being it was so cold and great place to warm up. In addition a gym located at the backside of the pool. Nice and well equipped for working out and staying in shape while on vacation. This place is also very close to town and an easy bike ride our 1.5 mile walk. We were very happy with our stay and would be coming back again to enjoy this great town.

Fair pricing, clean room, comfy beds, plush pillows, warm and cozy night. One of the best showers (great water pressure) in a hotel in a while. In the AM we had a complimentary breakfast before heading out. Breakfast was satisfying. We liked that they offered hot scrambled eggs, potatoes, and sausage via warming pans ...a la catering style in addition to all the regular breakfast make it yourself options like toast, waffles, yogurt, etc. Nice!

The area also has a nice big hot tub. There is no limit on how many people can use the pool and in the evening it was very crowded. The hotel also has a small gym which was empty most of the time. The breakfast was nice, a lady serves you food. They had cooked oatmeal only once and then they transitioned to packaged oatmeal which was disappointing. The room itself wasn't that clean, I found trash under the bed. Overall, a nice stay.

I want even get into all the ways that she was rude but she just had such a bad attitude and really didn't care if we stayed there next time or not. It seemed that she had a bad day or just hated her job. I recommend the hotel but I do not recommend the staff. I did complain to the manager about His insubordinate employee. He really didn't seem to care and I knew he wouldn't be doing anything about it. I wouldn't stay here since there are so many other choices of hotels. There was a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker. The bed was comfortable and warm on a cold, cold winter night! Overall very happy. Comfortable and reasonably priced!

The smell in the air of the pine and forest are worth every penny. Each room has a private deck with table and chairs overlooking the forest behind the lodge. Inside the main lodge is beautiful and clean, with a pool table and games upstairs. They also have cabins for rent and an entire house for larger groups. The cost is better than the hotels in town, and for the privacy and quiet, this is the only experience worth paying for. But if you need something, town is only a couple minutes drive. My sweety and I spent our evenings during by the pond, listening to the fountain and looking at the stars. The people here have been incredibly polite, friendly, and as helpful as you could ask for. I understand that ownership has changed hands in recent months, so don't give any heed or negative reviews. These people are not the same. Fantastic place! We HIGHLY recommend staying here. This Super 8 was way overpriced…read more I get it. McCall is out there and it's a hot vacation spot, but the stay is absolutely not worth ~$170 per night. If you're only here for a special event, maybe that's not a big deal, but otherwise it seemed unreasonable. The staff members were very friendly, I'll give them that. The room was meh. The bed had four small, square pillows, not ones you'd expect for a bed. The A/C was useless. It's 90 degrees out and you put the A/C on the coldest setting, with high fan speed. What happens? It blows cool air for about 5 minutes, then shuts off for 10 minutes. It went back on for 5 and off again for 10, repeating the cycle. The room never had an opportunity to properly cool down. The hot tub was "out of order" and breakfast in the morning was lackluster. They couldn't manage to put one piece of fruit out? Not even an apple or banana? It was 6:30 AM, so I know for a fact that they did not run out. You're much better off supporting a locally run inn/motel nearby. I travel and stay at a lot of Wyndham properties, including all kinds of Super 8 locations, but this one fell below expectation.
