The beautiful scenery at Black Bear RV Park
    Kim R.

So, where do I start? The beginning I guess! (It's a very good place to start,,,my sound of music quote,,,ok...) My family and I arrived into the McCall area in the first week of July. I called the Black Bear RV park, as it was my final call of desperation, to find a place for us to stay. Stacy was the ONLY person that I called that would even take the time to hear me out for our long stay request. EVERYOTHER PARK in the area, either didnt even bother to return my call OR they cut me off mid sentence to say they were booked. Stacy may have been booked, but she took the time to make a schedule of sites that we could stay in, even though a bit of moving around was required. It was such a relief to speak to someone who treated me as a person, not just a 'booking'!!! Then once we arrived, it just got better. Everyday, the staff of the park was either out making their rounds for daily trash collection, pumping your septic, cleaning the restrooms, laundry facilities and updating the parks playground area, community fireplace, landscaping, etc. ALL while having a smile on their face. I don't think that we spoke with anyone there, whether it be Jeremy, Stacy, their staff and family when they weren't smiling, laughing and just treating you like you've been friends forever. All summer kids were playing in the park "living their best life" without worry, something as a parent I would tell you made our time there that much more enjoyable. The park's location is close to all the town of McCall has to offer: recreation, shopping, lake, you name it. It was the perfect place for us to stay while getting acclimated to our new surroundings. I really enjoyed the scenery and drinking my morning coffee with the resident Deer who came through the park every morning. We stayed at the park until Sept. and leaving was almost like moving out of a favorite neighborhood you had been in all your life....having to say goodbye to 'old friends'. Sooooo, with all this being said,,, I would tell you that if you would like to stay at a place whether it be long term while you relocate (like us) or just for a quick get-a-way from your daily grind, Black Bear RV Park is the place to go!!! You will be glad you stayed. You may arrive a 'stranger' but you will leave as part of the Black Bear Family.

Stacy, the owner, was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our beautiful site right along the edge of the meadow.

There were groups of kids running and yelling through our camp spot. About 20 adults gathered by a campfire near us and about 10 kids ran wild, yelling and etc. They took over the area and had no respect for other campers. The evening before this happened a group of about 30 rafters came in and surrounded us and were loud. It seems like the big groups have taken over and they do not respect others. Copperfield is no longer the peaceful place that you can just sit in your campspot and enjoy visiting or walking around. Getting hit by kids on scooters and etc is a worry. There is a sign that says no scooters on the walk up to the restroom but kids use this to ride their bikes, scooters you name it. The host drives by and sees and hears it all but doesn't do anything about it. It says quiet time is at 11 pm, but that's a long time to wait for a little peace and quiet and courtesy from others. Sorry for the bad review, it's just very disappointing.

First off the park is beautiful and nice to look at. However, I witnessed some things that would…read moreensure I will never come back. They have a dog on leash policy, which is posted everywhere. On my morning walk I witnessed a gentleman two campsites down walking his dog off a leash down by the boat Storage. The Park host asked him to put the dog up and he did so immediately. While the Park host continued walking her dog around the park, she witnessed somebody else three campsites down from him, exercising his hunting dogs down by the river. She yelled at this older gentleman to lock his dogs up, but I would say it was safe to assume he couldn't hear. The Park host then walked her dog all the way into somebody else's campsite where they had their dog leashed and tied to the fire pit. After a few seconds, the park host little dog snapped at the other dog chained to the fire pit and they got into a fight. Nobody was injured, but the Park host was definitely in the wrong. She screamed at my girlfriend and I while all this was going on and we were five campsites away doing nothing. While this is happening the gentleman three campsites down was putting his dogs in the trailer and the lady screamed at him as well. After everything was said and done the gentleman with the two hunting dogs who had nothing to do with any altercation whatsoever was kicked out of the park that day for something he had nothing to do with. Because the Park host demanded an apology from him for something he had nothing to do with. The lady that owned the other dog involved in the altercation went and told the Park host it had nothing to do with the other gentleman, but because he hurt the Park hose feeling by not apologizing for something he didn't do he was kicked out. This was not fair or just. It has nothing to do with me, but I watched the entire scenario unfold and the park host as well as the park Owner were completely in the wrong!

The RV sites were clean, large, paved with rocks, picnic tables and a fire pit. Everything was in excellent condition. The full hook-ups were amazing! The RV sites are on the river with a perfect view of the mountains, and ranch views of cows and animals. We were able to catch steelhead fish on the river bank. The Landing has a wonderful playground which my kids fully enjoyed around the clock. The restrooms, were fully stocked and cleaned multiple times a day. Along with a great location the Wi-Fi was amazing, we were able to watch college football! We had family with us renting a tiny cabin, which was the perfect size for a family of 4! They are fully equipped with a kitchenette, loft and bunk bed and heated to perfection in November! I would give this place 5 stars! If you don't believe me, come check it out yourself and tell them I sent you.
