We live in Ogden about 25 mins away. But we love love the breakfast here. Now let be straight with ya. When we go out for food especially for breakfast. Calories do not count! Now we have that settled. The crunchy French toast is a must. Sooooo good, you won't regret it. This is really a decent little place to eat. Nothing I've eaten there was absolutely remarkable but in all fairness, I have never had a bad meal there either. Prices are fair, staff is very friendly, atmosphere is nice. Well worth your time. This restaurant is a solid four star establishment in my book but your tastes may vary. Went there this morning for an early Mother's Day breakfast with my daughter and granddaughter. Cute place . . . had to wait about 10 minutes for a table (no big deal). Ordered our breakfast (biscuits and gravy for me & two egg breakfast for my daughter) . . . waited over 30 minutes to get our food (it wasn't super busy). Food finally came & it was all cold. My breakfast had absolutely no taste at all! We both ordered our eggs over medium . . . they came out barely, just barely over easy. My breakfast had absolutely no flavor at all. Put salt & pepper on everything and still tasted like wall paper. So disappointed. read more

The food was just like a home-cooked meal with generous portions. I order the deep-fried hand breaded cod, which was very tasty. It came with your choice of potatoes, so instead of the usual fries, I had mashed potatoes with country gravy. The side of carrots was fabulous: the best I've ever had in a restaurant. My server was very attentive. Oh, did I mention the dinner roll? It's definitely worth mentioning! The restaurant is smallish and looks pretty worn from the outside, but the inside is clean. The only thing preventing a 1-star review, besides the fact that I just won't waste my time writing one, is the menu has 4 pages. Unfortunately, we ordered off the dinner page on a Sunday afternoon and now won't be trying the other 3 pages. :( With a name like The Rusted Spoon, I really expected some great down home cooking. I was FAMISHED, but there were no appetizers to order, so we went straight for the meal - husband had the pork chop dinner w/mashed potatoes and a salad, I had the ribeye (rare) with French fries and a cup of the New England clam chowder. Both meals came with a "vegetable." I LOVE clam chowder, however I couldn't get past the fishy smell of this one, nor the fact my spoon could stand upright in it, so I was still famished when my meal arrived. Ribeye was boneless, thin and not flavorful. In spite of my best efforts to cut around the marbling (that's just part of eating a ribeye) I still ended up pulling a lot of fat out of my mouth - a disgusting thing to do at the dinner table - so I gave up about 1/5 of the way into it. French fries needed salt/seasoning and had come right out of a bag; nothing special. Husband said pork chops lacked flavor but mashed potatoes were good. The "vegetable" was shredded/chipped carrots in seasoned butter; I was hoping for something green, not another starch. We got a to go box for the steak and one of the pork chops so we could feed it to our dogs & piled the rest of the uneaten fries, carrots and soup to the end of the table. The waitress made no inquiry about all of the leftover food; come to think of it, we didn't see her from the time the soup was dropped until she brought the box and the check. Disappointing. Our server was amazing. Happy, bubbly and helpful. We sat at a booth next to the kitchen and had to listen to the manager/owner gripe and complain about his staff and workload. We showed up at the Rusted Spoon, a place we have visited before and had a good experience, at 1015. We left at 1130 with no food. It took us about 15 minutes to get sat (no big deal). Then someone came to get our drinks, then we waited to 15 minutes before anyone took our order (after a member of our party had to go find a server). We ordered and never received our food. A member of our party asked someone to find out how long it would be before we got our food and she never came back to the table (5 minutes). Two of the servers were kind and smiling but that does not always make up for lack of communication. If the kitchen is so backed up, someone needs to communicate with the customers. We have two hypoglycemic members of our family plus one member who has to eat every 2 hours for medical reasons. This was one of my worst experiences in any restaurant. read more

A cute little cafe. Service is good and food is usual truck stop style, though The lot is not large enough to allow parking for truckers.The place has a vintage feel to it. We found this little out of the way spot after a last minute stop in Brigham City over night. The staff were super kind and very helpful. The food was delicious and homemade. We will be sure to stop again on future trips through Utah. Our family enjoyed the homemade Mac and cheese, the steaks were cooked perfectly and the Navajo Taco scone was perfect. The homemade chili was a little on the sweet side for me, but that is more personal preference than anything. read more

I've been dying to try this place for over a year now and when a family dinner fell through we decided to stop here on the way home. The parking lot was quite full and there were great smells coming from the restaurant. It's a home converted into a restaurant and the decoration is simple and nice. Restaurant looks nice and clean. Upon entering we were immediately seated and given the menu. Our server was great I wish I would have remembered her name. I asked her what she recommended since it was our first time. I decided to go with her recommendation the crunchy French toast. I personally loved it and would order it again. I've been trying to think of ways to make it at home. My only complaint with my meal was the bacon that came with it. It was more steamed then fried. It was really flimsy and there was no Crunch at all. My wife ordered the chicken avocado sandwich and she thought it was just okay. One of my daughters ordered breakfast as well and she loved it. The last thing we got was the Navajo taco and it was the worst of everything we ordered. The chili on it had a really weird taste. None of us could eat it. The fried bread on the Navajo taco was really good but we could not get past the taco meat or chili that was on top. I felt the food here was hit and miss and if you wanted to be safe I would recommend breakfast but maybe try the sausage instead of bacon. Definitely do not order the Navajo taco. Our server was really great and she was helpful throughout. I'd come again and have breakfast here. read more

Not so much. We arrived towards the end of their evening, but no means right at closing time. Service was "forced polite" -- they all had the script for how to speak to customers, but it was rushed and insincere at best. The food was OK. Salad was a bag of ice berg lettuce mix dumped on a plate. The soup was so hot that I couldn't even eat it until we were almost ready to leave. One of my party had a fish dish that he said was almost inedible, but the rice it was served on was pretty good. I see that the reviews for breakfast and dessert are pretty good, neither of which we had, and we might try those, but dinner will be a no go for us again. read more

It is my first time visiting with my husband and son and WE ARE AMAZED. The hostess was welcoming and working harder than any waitress I've seen! She cares for her guests! It was a busy Sunday afternoon and they seated us within 10 minutes of arriving! This place is a cute little restaurant with about 30 tables. Our waitress was super attentive and kind. We decided with the crunchy french toast, chicken bacon and avocado sandwich, and the breakfast burrito. We wanted a little of everything... the pictures speak for itself, but if you need me to tell you, it was all SO DELICIOUS! I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants great, quick service and finger licking good food!
