Loacal breakfast spot, serving since 1929. I got the eggs Benedict aka Eggs Brit... their take on eggs Benedict, with Swiss cheese bacon and spinach on an English muffin and a side of sausage links. The hash browns were perfectly cooked, everything was actually. It was packed, no social distancing and masks were not enforced. It is a small place, so it would be difficult to social distance and make a profit for the day. I feel for small buis, glad I got the take out. So good! The staff did wear masks and gloves, very clean. I did get odd looks when I walked in with a mask... but that seemed to be the case throughout Utah. read more

We went to Bert's Cafe for the first time on Saturday and to say I was disappointed is a gross understatement. We walked into the restaurant and there was 5 empty tables and we sat down. Within minutes, we had someone walk up and ask us what we wanted. We ordered drinks and our food at the same time. The Drinks were brought to the table about 7 minutes later and then we started our wait. We noticed that there was 6 families sitting without food but had their drinks. An older group had to wave a wait staff down and ask for Coffee Refills (TWICE) because nobody ever comes and communicates what is transpiring within the Kitchen. After an HOUR (YES, you got that right... an HOUR). The food was finally brought out to their table and when it arrived it was COLD. They asked to talk to what I am assuming is the Manager and her comment "SHOCKED" me. The Manager told the table that they take pride in making their food "FRESH" but if that is truly an accurate statement then WHY was it COLD when it came out of the Kitchen "FRESH"? The Manager said that they can remake the food and expedite it. There is a Disconnect between the people preparing the food and the server who should have delivered it once it was prepared. We waited another 15-20 minutes and again... Nobody ever came to say what the delay was and out of the 6 groups who were waiting... Only the Older group received their Cold Food. I got tired of waiting and the other groups were all looking at each other wondering what was going on and I had enough and went to the Cash Register and informed them that I wanted to pay for my Drink and to cancel the food seeing that they have not even started to prepare it. They explained that they were busy and I made a recommendation that maybe someone should share that with the Customer who were waiting. The Young Girl made a smart comment and then got the Manager. I informed her that I wanted to pay for my drink and she said the drink was Free and walked away. The feel of the Restaurant was that there was more seating than the size of the kitchen could manage. All I know is their Patrons were sitting for nearly an hour and not received any food. Not a way to run a restaurant. I have worked in a Country Club and a Fine Dining Restaurant in my younger years and how this business is being run baffles me how they have been in business for nearly 100 years. read more

Nice homely spot to go and grab a bite to eat. We went for breakfast and tried the Eggs Britt (hollandaise, bacon, English muffin, poached eggs, spinach) served with hash browns, also tried a regular breakfast (eggs cooked to order, bacon, hash browns). We each had coffee and water as well. Both dishes hit the spot and had us full- thanks to the large portions. Our waitress/server was Britt and she was amazing. I have never been to Berts but I own a business close by so I figured it was time I finally stopped in and tried the food and coffee! I was hoping for a strong cup of Joe because I need all the caffeine I can get, I was disappointed when I realized how watered down the coffee was! I used one half and half and the coffee turned white instantly. The food however was AWESOME! I tried a skillet- the potatoes are PERFECTION, the mickey pancakes on the kids meal was so cute and my toddler ate nearly all of it! I will most likely be back but I'll make sure to drink coffee from home when I do! read more

One of my favorite go to destinations in Brigham City is this family owned restaurant! Out of every business that has been effected by COVID-19, Bert's Cafe was the number one business that I was concerned about. My normal reviews boost about the food, service, and atmosphere of restaurants. This review is different. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are everything there is to brag about. What I want to mention about Bert's Cafe is if you have dined at Bert's, walked by Bert's (even not noticing), scrolled past Bert's online looking for recommendations on where to eat, or even if you simply exist, you are part of the Bert's Cafe Family. A short time ago I sat in a booth with my darling wife. We eavesdropped (wasn't hard to do with them sitting right next to us) on an elderly gentleman who was obviously a regular. The roads were getting worse with snow and ice melt was not affecting the falling snow on the sidewalks. The elderly gentleman got up to walk out to his car and every employee, patron, and person alike stood up to assist this gentleman to his car. Some offers were gratuitously accepted and other politely turned down as enough individuals had volunteered to ensure the patrons safe return to his car. I have seen multiple acts of kindness and compassion within Bert's Cafe. Arrived at Bert's and was welcomed with a smile. The woman behind the counter said I could be seated anywhere. I chose a booth toward the back. Instantly I felt like I was decades back. It was 1130, so there are a few customers, but got pretty busy closer to noon. The woman who sat me recommend the burgers. She said that's what they are know for and recommended three in particular. I picked the Chipotle Burger and tots. My order was made super fast. The burger was delicious. It Patty was cooked just right. The in cooked jalapenos definitely make it spicy. I really liked the chiotle mayo that came on it. Everything was going great until I started watching the cooks in the back. One gal was cooking and preparing food without gloves... After grabbing some food off the counter her hand went up to her face several times to whipe her nose. Then back to the food. That was it. I was done. FYI. The ranch is fantastic. read more

I'm sure the food must be good but we waited for an hour and ten minutes. The food never showed up. They chose not to refill our drinks. Screaming babies! Too crowded: Poorly run! Management and owners must be irresponsible! It only costs restaurants 3 bucks an hour to hire servers here in Utah. They don't even make minimum wage like 47 other states in the US. So, they can hire an additional server... there are many single moms and even my wife that could work a Saturday morning. Seriously guys... also have a few servers on call. And don't blame it on people that don't want to work. There are enough people out there that wouldn't mind working a Saturday morning to have a side gig. Lastly, there are was a little boy bussing tables and the waitresses were going off on him because he was too slow. Isn't that in violation of federal or state labor laws? Is he even getting paid? I just realized I had not updated my review, so plz note this is about 6 mon in arrears. Maybe something's changed. Loved the prior service but had a different brunette for our Sunday breakfast. Decided to try one of the more adventurous omelets. Couldn't eat it (horrible food combination), and our waitress couldn't have cared if I did or didn't eat it, since she took away almost the whole meal with no question as to whether there was something wrong with my food. The place is casual and comfy, we all got a booth to sit in, the server was very friendly, the customers and staff seemed to know one another well, and it had a good feel to it. The prices are great, the food is even better! I got some eggs, hash browns, toast, and sausage links..and the links were amazing! They served 3 big ones with my food. Very very good! I would definitely go here again next time I come to town. My husband got the Belgian waffle and that looked and tasted great as well. If you want some good food, service, and all for a great low price...you should stop on in! ps- I didn't have this, but I hear they have a massive ham steak and it's really good. The staff didn't seem to be in a good mood as we came in - complaining about someone quitting &/or getting fired. I ordered lemonade and it had a nasty aftertaste so I switched it up for sprite. They serve coke products. My boy ordered a yummy cookie dough shake. I got the create your own omelette. She forgot the salsa I requested and happily brought it upon request. The French fries were very yummy! My omelette was great but the hash browns were bland with no real flavoring. I also ordered some creamy potato soup which was also very bland. Stopped by Brigham City with hungry family and came upon this adorable, 3 generations family owned cafe, where we were greeted and served by the owner who told us her family history of this establishment, which piqued our interest. She also cooked all of our food within 10 minutes and told us about all the farm-fresh ingredients she uses, which you could just taste in the flavorful meals we had (greek salad, steak sandwich, chicken fajita salad). To top it off, we split a peach smoothie, which was sweet and creamy from local orchard peaches down the road. We were SO impressed with the quality and speed of the service, food, and experience.
