For some reason, I thought this spot was all vegan, or at least vegetarian. Maybe there used to be a different business at this location? I almost accidentally ordered the Reuben--that would have been an uneasy situation when it arrived. They only have a few plant-based offerings now. Anyway, my friendly waitress Jen got me back on track and recommended the falafel burger and fries, which were both excellent. Nice looking salads too, I'll come back when I need a break from all-vegan Plumeria next door. Note that the falafel sandwich is slightly dry if you leave off the mozzarella cheese, so I highly recommend adding avocado! read more

Had dinner her Friday evening around 7 pm. Was able to find parking fairly easy. The menus was simple and there were a lot of unique dishes at a fair price. The facility was clean, open and modern. There was live music which was nice but a little loud to communicate over dinner because the place is not very large. I had the artichoke sandwich and it was delicious. Seeing the surrounding guests dishes also all looked really good. The presentation was nice. Service was pleasant and prompt even tho they were very busy. Food came timely as well. Chanced upon this place walking around Encinitas last weekend. The vibe is old timely, bluesy. I'm sure at night when it's all lit up it's pretty cool. there is a stage for live musicians. They have schedules on the table as to who plays when. The musician who was there was good that day, and she obviously had her fans and friends in the audience. The food itself was just ok. We had such a crazy experience here I feel inclined to warn the community about this establishment. We were a party of eight in for brunch on a Saturday. The food was okay, they had a singer which was cool, but they were not busy. The waiter let us know he autogratted us which was fine given the size of the party so I gave him my credit card when the bill came and figured we were done. The card was charged, but then when we asked our waiter if he was bringing the check back, he let us know he couldn't find it or the check. I left to get our kids home and my wife waited and waited while they searched. Somehow they lost our card. They were apologetic, but that's a pretty big mistake and now we had to order new cards and update all the accounts that card was tied to which was a big headache. We will not be back... read more

This place is open and protesting! We happily joined in on the protest by sampling some of the best wings and Brussels sprout appetizers! Cooked perfectly. Paired with a great been and wine selection, the burgers were great as well cooked perfectly, Juicy and delicious. We had great service and seating felt completely safe from any airborne illnesses. Love the food and the vibe at the roxy! My favorite menu items are the garlic fries and the pork adobo, but so far none of the food has dissapointed me. The live music is hit or miss, and usually quite loud, but you can always sit on the patio if you are not feeling the music. I have always had kind and professional service here as well. read more

Second time here. First time was a success minus the slow service. I mean 20 mins to get a Bloody Mary is crazy. Second time was yesterday during the Encinitas street fair. We were seated fairly quickly, since it was around 10:15. The hostess was a little ditzy and spent most of her time doodling on a paper at the hostess stand. I asked her if she could turn the heater on (she offered so I said yes please) . 10 mins go by and it wasn't on. So I went to ask again and she said she'd tell someone to come do it. Someone came by 30 mins in and was kind of annoyed he had to do it. Also, this time it took 25 mins to get one bloody. That would have been fine had someone come to tell us they had to cook more bacon. The serve was 18 and also a little frazzled. He didn't come back once to check on us until we were done with our food. The manager took our drinks off the bill which was super nice but why is the service always so crappy? Crowded Friday night. Wasn't sure what we wanted and decided to try it again. I used to love this place before it was remodeled. Got seated around 8pm and it was busy. Small 3 piece band started playing. There was so much noise it was hard to hear them. The acoustics need some help. The giant windows in the front are a nice touch but I think they reverberate all the sound and make it even louder. They should consider something on the ceiling to reduce the noise. The menu looked good. We both decided on salad. Waiter said they are big. Well, they were delicious. They were really tasty but for $20 with salmon we both left hungry. The piece of salmon was very nice. The fruit was nice but a bit scarce. I could count the number of strawberry slices and the 3 pecans. It could have used much more greens and a little more of everything. I should have taken a photo, if I didn't get it with salmon it would have been more like a side salad not a $13 salad as a meal. The cocktails were good and the prices on those were fair. My biggest critique are for the chairs. Most uncomfortable wooden chairs with no padding or cushion ever in a restaurant. The chairs have a wooden ring around the seat which digs into the hamstrings while leaning forward to talk or listen to another person at the table. Since it was so noisy I constantly found myself leaning in. I realized I was squirming in the chair trying to get comfortable. I think the wooden ring is designed to hold in a cushion which was absent. The service. Our waiter was nice enough I guess. I tried to make a few jokes while we ordered but he just seemed busy. He recommended the salad and said they are big but he never came over to ask how everything was. Nothing special about the service. Lastly the Bill. Two smallish salads and two cocktails, almost $60.00. Which, honestly isn't terrible. But, then, on the bill, under the tip line, there's another line for ... "Band Tip". I would get there fairly early as it was pretty packed by 630pm. You can make reservations via yelp. They have live music but unless you are in the outside seating in the back, you can't hear it. But that was ok. Atmosphere is nice and so was the service. Very friendly. Food was good. I would say a little on the pricey side for what you are getting but it's a nice night out. The cheese curds are straight from heaven or perhaps from a deep fryer filled with butter, either way I will buy them every time. Had the Turkey club and it was fantastic. All the ingredients are always fresh which makes such a huge difference. We sat outside and enjoyed lunch with a couple cocktails - hell of a good Friday. Chicken in chicken sandwich was a bit undercooked, and was brought to the attention of the waitress and they were able to resolve the issue by making sure it was cooked to its right temperature. We dined outside and had a great experience! We were impressed by the variety and delicious of the cheese board. The French onion soup was hot and perfectly salty. My partner got the burger and that too was amazing. We also appreciated the Rabble wine they offered by he bottle, it's one of our favorite wineries in Paso Robles and not commonly see on menus. Nancy S. is spot on. My family was next to Ryan's table and... to be honest they were the problem, not the restaurant. His mom/friend walked around complaining to the other guests asking them to move or deal with issues rather than just...act like adults. They had their dog inside on the bench (a no no). The mgmt hung Packers banners to block the sun at their request. There are other TVs all around the restaurant that were perfectly clear (and my family was watching the TV Ryan complained about without issue). The Roxy is THE Packers spot in San Diego (I am a life long Packers fan and a 25 year SoCal transplant, so I know). I wanted to comment directly on Ryan's post as a fellow patron sitting in the exact same spot to call BS. YELP doesn't let me.
