Some of my friends never been to a drag show, so they had no idea what to expect. Our table was right in front of the stage. It's been 30 years that Lips Drag Queen show been around. Lots of celebration going around-bachelorette party, bachelor party, wedding anniversary, birthdays and more. The food was very good. We all got the Cesear Salad Some of us went for the Pan Seared Salmon with jasmine rice and vegetables which was really tasty. Couple of the girls went for the Grilled New York Steak Frites and another went for the Chicken Parmesan Crusted Chicken. Drinks were strong, so be prepared to drink lots of water. For dessert we got the cheesecake and flourless chocolate cake. Look at menu there are extra $ added on when it comes to steak, shrimp, and lobster, also with some of the drinks too so check menu. All my friends had such a fabulous time, we are planning to come back soon and bring more friends. OMG!!! The show- You got to come, experience and see for yourself. Who can beat such a deal in NYC. An unforgettable dining experience with a three-course meal with a drink for one set price and you get entertained as well. Tip- Bring lots of dollar bills. No! the Divas are not going to be stripping but as each performer does their number it's nice to give them a bill or two. Even the bartender comes up and does a skit.

The higher the request, the more likely they will play the song. You can also pay for you to sing. People have tried to request without tipping, but they will get called out. Most of the songs requested are broadway hits. Some good oldies songs are sung though. We liked our drinks. Not too bad, not too ecstatic. Just enough to be satisfied. If you get a spot in the back, they do have a TV for you to watch whats going on in the front. They will also offer you a spot in the front if a spot opens up. There are more 2 people spots open vs 4 people spots, meaning you are more likely to sit separated up front than together. Overall, highly recommend for a good time!

We came to support our friends who were doing a show. They really pack people in and I'm good with paying to support the arts. For our friends' show, the cover was $35 each plus a two drink minimum with at least $20 required. We got drinks and two appetizers which were just okay but we weren't expecting gourmet fare. We got out of there for about $200 so a little pricey but it's nice to support artists. It's cash only so make sure you go before or else they send you to the sketchy ATM in the parking lot a couple of doors down and that charges a $4.75 fee. They are very good about notifying you that it's cash only, but bring more than you think you'll need.

The other 3 comics were OK, but not memorable. Was shocked that one mentioned credentials of being a former SNL writer. Venue was fine, but a bit crowded with people bumping into chairs whenever waitstaff passed by. Somewhat annoying.

However, I greatly struggled to meet the two item per person requirement as their drinks are all alcohol-forward with little coverage of other palettes; the food is more interesting, but also significantly limited compared to the menu online. That said, the staff exceeded expectations in quality of service and I commend that aspect. (Beef Sliders: D) - Love the wasabi ketchup, but the rest of the dish reminds me of the unpleasantness of school cafeteria burgers. (Passion and Heat: D) - I was expecting a sweet and slightly spicy palette for this drink, but found this to be acidic-forward, but not from notes of citrus, which was not pleasant. (Pineapple Vodka: D) - This drink tastes like if you mixed a small amount of pineapple juice without added sugar into a lot of vodka. It's mildly pineapple, and mostly vodka-forward, and would've benefitted from sugar. Food: -1 Presentation: E Price: E Atmosphere: +1 Service: +1 Menu: -1 Insta/Yelp/Beli/TikTok: @amei_eats

Love coming to support my favorite content creators like TheKempire, TheBrookeAshley and WeigoPodcast doing their thing! However, the waiting service when ordering food is abysmal. Two days ago was my third visit to this venue in a span of six months. The waiters are very pushy, pressuring you to order water (which is not free btw) or anything else for the sort. The menu at this venue is pretty limited and the updated/correct menu doesn't seem to be found anywhere on the site/online. The menu has like 10 options and does cater to all diets: vegetarian, pescatarian, pollotarian, meat lover, and I think vegan, there's a salad. When approached by my waiter, I ordered the only pasta dish on the menu. And I was quite surprised! It was really good! I ordered a risotto dish my first time coming here in March and it was just OK and underwhelming. Eventually I ordered a mocktail on my phone using the QR code on my table, because I couldn't seem to get attention of my waiter and the program was about to start. 10 mins later my mocktail comes from a waitress. The mocktail was good but wayy too sweet it was doused in sugar! My waiter realizes after I finished my mocktail that I didn't order it directly from his "tab" so he did seem upset about it. Didn't think it was a big deal then but maybe it's commissioned based? Then, my waiter repeatedly came back what felt like every two minutes, assuming that I was not satisfied or something, it was really annoying and started to take away from me enjoying the live show I paid for. Additionally, the waiter automatically added a 22% tip which I felt like he didn't deserve. I could've changed it to a lower percentage but it was awkward in the moment. All in all, everyone is nice at The Green Room 42 but all the waiters are questionable. Very pushy tactics to get you to buy something to drink and eat. Repeatedly coming back even if you show strong disdain. It's like a sales rep who comes to your door trying to convince you to buy knives or something. Like a fly that doesn't go away. Definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I get that it's Time Square area but I've been to places around the area and there are not like this.

Date of visit: 7/18/26 Of all the times that I've been in…read moreNew York City, I've never seen a nicer nightclub venue that actually served decent food! Doors opened at 6pm, showtime was 7pm. Table seating is first come, first served. My husband, my friend, and I got there just before 6 PM so we had our choice of table. We picked one that was about 15 feet away from the stage. The band consisted of a lead guitar, bass guitar, drums and a WALL OF SOUND AMP (or maybe even 2?) No, that's NOT the brand name of the amp, I will explain. As soon as the lead guitarist strummed his first chord, my fingers IMMEDIATELY entered my ear canals. My husband (who has a mild case of permanent hearing loss) followed suit. On his phone he has an app that measures noise levels in decibels. The reading he measured while sitting at our table was between 95 and 103 dB. By 7:30, he left our table and retreated to the bar area near the front doors of the establishment (which was approx 100 ft from the stage). I texted him and asked what the decibel reading was from his new location. It was between 80-85 dB. The only time I could take the fingers out of my ears was after the songs ended and people applauded. The main guitarist introduced the band around 7:40 PM. Then he made a comment having to do with the volume of the music. Something like asking us (the crowd) if the volume was loud enough and how great he thought it was. I shouted back - it's too loud! The people at the table next to me looked at me, and I told them straight up that permanent hearing loss happens at 90dB and he was putting out much over that. The woman sitting next to me took a picture of the app from my phone that we were using to measure the sound levels. By 7:45, my friend and I got up from our table and retreated to where my husband was. And it was between 80 and 85 dB. The session was not over yet, but we just had enough and we left at 8 PM. When I got home, I wrote to the lead guitarist on his social media and shared with him what I just explained here. I also told him that my husband and I both work in an industrial environment and we know a lot about hearing conservation because it's part of our on site training. When I went online this morning to see if he commented back on it, my comments were gone. I was very nice, and I complimented him on his talent, but also faced him with some facts that he probably did not like to hear. Who knows how much hearing he has left? And it's not just him that is suffering from the damaging levels of sound. It's his bandmates and the staff at the venue! I know that there's such a thing as earplugs, but the point of attending a live concert is to be able to enjoy the music. Wearing earplugs just to tamp down the music volume is counterintuitive and unnecessary. So those of you who are in a band, or who love to listen to live music, be more conscious of your precious gift of hearing and be mindful of your sound levels. Do your sound checks and download a sound measurement app (mine is called Decibel X:dB Sound Level Meter). Once your hearing is lost, it does NOT return!

But the sound was so loud, what they sang was garbled, making it difficult to understand and follow. "Do you get this?" I asked my friend. "I can't make out what they're saying!" she responded. So -- very unlike me -- we left during intermission. I don't want to malign the show. The script (from what I gathered) was clever and the performers, talented. The theater itself is a nice, informal off-Broadway venue: a bar in the lobby, comfortable seating with good views throughout. I'll give Asylum another try. I've noticed they feature some interesting productions. (I'm sorry I missed "Naked Magicians.") But for last night's experience, a regrettable three stars.
