Chris Renner-Randy Rhoads Reborn (TikTok @bxcxnz)

What awesome ambiance this place has. My son Chris Renner was lead guitar Ozzy Osbourne "I Don't Know" and "Over the Mountain" at the Tribute Show in November and the sound system was really great here. Great food. The stage backdrop made the show epic. Chris Renner on right. Rockit Academy is a performance focused Music school that provides talented musicians excellent venues to experience professional musicianship. The Cutting Room hosts these performances every year.

Went to The Cutting Room for a Food Network: Food and Wine event, which was themed as Drag Night- hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burkta. We arrived 15minutes before the event started and there was already a long queue. The people hosting and managing the event came out and checked everyone in and gave us our wrist bands while waiting, which I thought was efficient. Once we were let in, we walked into a semi large area with a long bar for free drinks and tables serving jello shots and cake. The ticket included drinks and food. Walking towards the stage, there were three stations set up give out food, which were tacos, taquitos and a seafood polenta dish. Each one was tasty and you could keep going back for more, which was nice. They also gave out penis and vagina shaped cakes, cupcakes and cookies. Right on theme. The drinks were also tasty but there was only one bar area and with hundreds of people standing around it was almost impossible to get a drink. Since it was drag night, there were many drag performers and games to participant in; which were all so fun. Overall it was a great night with lots of fun and decent food. I can see The Cutting Room being a good space to host events.

Had a wonderful time at the cutting room to hear music of Queen on Broadway. The ambience was great to have good food/drinks to listen to fabulous music !!!

Very nice music venue. Great menu and great atmosphere. Will definitely return for another show.

I came here to see the Rocky horror picture show live, and the whole venue is just so wickedly cool. Because I was first online, I had the best seat in the house in my opinion, though I would not have been super keen if I was super close to the stage, like some of the seating was set. The atmosphere is pretty intimate in a definitely felt like such a cool overall music vibe. I don't know what other events I would come to for this spot, but I would love to come back for whatever this venue holds. There is a minimum at least for my show when it came to drinks and food combined, and please forgive me because I forgot what that minimum was ($25 per person I think?). But I would keep in mind that there is a minimum for drinks and food on top of your ticket, depending on the event. Mine was during prime time on a Friday night.

Nice space. Good acoustics. Nice staff. Times tickets and you can't really enjoy bands before your time. Bathroom is a long way's away.

Great music venue , they have great sound . However the bathrooms are out of the way all the way in the basement and the tables upstairs are to close together . We got tickets to see a live band and we got VIP tickets , but the only thing about that was because it had tables , the view of the stage is horrible and if the dance floor is crowded you don't really get to see much .

Ask the Community - The Cutting Room

Is there a coat check?

Hi there. We offer coat check for certain events, based on the number of attendees and the weather. Other times we have a self-check area where you can hang your coats. If you need further assistance please call our office 212-691-1900. Thank you.

Is this first come first served?

Hi - most shows are fist come, first seated. Some shows have premium tickets that are for the front tables closest to the stage.

Can you buy a ticket and just watch the show from a back bar like B.B. King's? Or is the showroom tables only?

Tables and lots of people standing around. Probably not great idea if you're wanting to sit at a bar and watch.

Are DSLR/Professional cameras allowed?

Apparently there is NO camera restriction, and the amateurs running around with newly purchased, knock off longs lenses is completely annoying. Keep in mind if you're an amateur photographer: 1. There are paying customers here that didn't pay to…

Do i have to pay a fee if i buy tickets online?

I think it depends on the type of show. When I went to a comedy show there I pruchased my tickets online.

Can one attend a show without being subject to the $20/table minimum?

I do not think you can and I am not sure that you would want to! It is my understanding that the artists receive a percentage of the revenue created from the food and drink, so the money you are spending is supporting the artists and the…

What is the difference between regular seats and VIP seats?

Hi Nate. I have been to The Cutting Room many, many times to see our friend, Jim Dawson play there. In my experience, VIP just means that certain tables were reserved in the prime, front stage area. The place is not that big and if you arrive around…

We reserved for a quick bite at Redeye Grill before catching Dog Day Afternoon on Broadway, but as soon as we walked up, some bouncer told us they were closed for a private wedding reception. We were dazed and confused because how was I able to reserve online? But the real plot twist was that it ended up being the best thing that happened. We actually stumbled into Tanner Smith's thinking it'd be the typical, boring bar-food spot. Nope. They first sat us at a hi-top by the door, but that wasn't our vibe, so we grabbed seats at the bar instead. Best decision. Our bartender, Josiah, was absolutely killing it. My cocktail had passion fruit, so of course I asked my usual question: "But is it real passion fruit?" He just nodded in agreement and that told me everything I needed to know. That drink was legit and had nice strength. The food was great too. My fish tacos were packed with fresh fish, the guacamole and salsa were chunky and full of flavor and hubs enjoyed his pastrami sandwich. I have no clue when we'll be back in Midtown, but one thing's for sure- we're sitting with Josiah again.

For those who like a little drink with their food, during brunch they offered a number of brunch cocktails (bottomless) for $35 Food of Choice: I had the Truffle Mac and Cheese and a side of the za'tar cauliflower. Both dishes were great and filling. The cauliflower had a lot of bold flavors! The onion ring on top of the Mac and cheese was a nice touch. I couldn't really taste the truffle but I would still order the dish again.

I LOVE a good Irish pub and this one felt like the perfect puzzle piece for me that day. When you walk in it's a narrow long pub with dim lighting which was so chill and easy on the eyes. Gave us a nice break. Plenty of bar seating and toward the back they have tables. Some TV's behind the bar but nothing gleaming in your face. The bartenders were awesome. Attentive, chill, converse and just generally nice folks. The menu was small-ish but had the most amazing options. My bf got some type of Philly cheesesteak egg rolls and wouldn't stfu about how good they were lmao. I got the pub burger which was a mix of brisket and short rib and let me telllll you...gimmie fawteen of em right now!! 100/100 burger. Something so simple but these people have perfected it. Two-part, proper settle, tight dome, no rushing it. That's rarer than it should be in Midtown where half the bars treat a stout like a lager. Whoever's behind the bar here has been trained or grew up around it. Food's better than a second-floor pub between 5th and 6th has any right to be. The JRB burger comes on a house-ground patty (they grind in-house, and you can tell, loose texture, actual seasoning), caramelized onions cooked down all the way, not just softened, good cheese pull. Fried pickles on the side had a crisp cornmeal shell and stayed crunchy under the burger juices, which never happens. Buttermilk chicken salad was the surprise. Chicken actually brined, crust stayed on, greens weren't an afterthought. Only real knock: music was loud. Not sports-bar loud, more like the bartender's playlist got away from him. Fine at the bar, harder at a table if you want to talk. Room's got real bones. Reclaimed barn wood, old rail track as a foot rest, that big 45-star flag on the wall. Been here almost 20 years and it's aged into itself. For the neighborhood the pricing's fair. Beats P.J. Clarke's on the burger, loses on quiet. Go for a beer and a burger, not a date.

And you find out the purpose when you don't properly load your fork/spoon with a little bit of everything. We went with the impressions menu (the basic one? the menu changes with season so...ya) and I know people go nuts over the 'eggs on eggs on eggs' but i I have had the signature dish (The Garden of the Goose that Laid the Golden Egg) from Chef Jose Avillez's Belcanto in Lisbon and it's just not my cup of tea! The hostess was really friendly and quicky sat us at a two seater near the bar, which we appreciated. The ambiance was light and friendly and they even had a DJ playing all the good jams! I think I danced a bit, (definitely liquid courage). The DJ read the room and created a fun ambiance. The waitress came over a few minutes later and quickly took our drink and meal order.
