Grilled shrimp salad, more than I could eat, so I got a "doggie box" for another lunch. Take the short side-drive off off IH10.

Once more, the Regatta gives great value, and is worth a drive. Went for Memorial Sunday lunch, over on IH10, back home on back roads. Great foods, good if amateurish service, super digs & view. This place is an absolute "Don't miss!". Caveat, little precious shade in off-street parking lot. Plenty big trees in the nice lakefront park across the little boulevard.

Wonderful restaurant with great views of the lake. Service is always good and the food delicious. I had the all you can eat fried catfish special (til 3:00 on Fridays), and the fish were hot, tender and crispy. Best catfish I've had in ages.

We accidentally came during the towns Mardi Gras festivities but the service was still great! The views alone are worth coming for but the food was delicious!

This is some of the best food I've had in a long time. From the appetizers to the main course, absolute perfection. Beautiful place, large outdoor seating area with a beautiful view, friendly service. Large menu with many great options to choose from. Nice big parking area. Nothing too salty or too spicy. The broccoli bombs were out of this world. Soft shell crab over pasta was amazing. First time here and certainly won't be my last!

Excellent food and atmosphere! Loved sitting on the deck with breeze blowing and great friends in company. WORTH THE DRIVE! We had friend mushrooms app, flounder and prime rib. Everything was tasty and cooked perfectly..

As a kid I've always only passed this restaurant in the river while in the boat. You'd think with all the talk it would be a lot better than what it was! The food had little to no taste which is odd because like.. South Louisiana right? Idk. The menu was very disappointing. There wasn't much to choose from at all. I enjoyed the coffee but.. that's about it. We did have a big table so I'll give our server some credit for handling us well.. but it took her about 35 minutes to cash us all out. I'm a server so I understand the hassle of a big table but.. it doesn't take that long lol. Oh well, fun experience I guess hanging out with my family and walking on the river, I just won't be coming here again. You should stick to your sandwich's on the boat

The food is delicious. It was served piping hot and was seasoned well. The seafood enchiladas are the best I've eaten. The only bad item was the potato salad. It was dry and unseasoned. The service was not so good. Once we got our food we didn't see our server until she brought the check. No offer for refills or dessert.

I love being on the water. The servers are friendly and they are always busy it's best to call ahead. The jambalaya is the best I've had.

We had chicken and sausage gumbo, Pepper Jack boudin balls, bam bam gator bites and the blackened chicken pasta. The waiter this time was better than the waitress we had last time. He was very attentive and made sure we never had to ask for refills. The appetizers came out fairly normal time-wise I would say. The main portion took a little bit longer than what you're used to at a franchise restaurant but here that's perfectly fine as it's worth the couple extra minutes. The gumbo is perfect(I love when gumbo is not over complicated) I like to add a lil hot sauce to it and it's delicious... only thing is, while they already give generous portions... the cup and the bowl looked exactly the same except I think in the bowl they give you one extra scoop of rice... which would be just fine if it wasn't like $6 more. But still delicious nonetheless. The bam bam gator bites were really good and I highly recommend them. If you like bam bam shrimp you'll love these. The pepper jack boudin balls were good, nothing special but they were definitely worth the try. My co-worker had the blackened chicken pasta and when I asked him how it was he said "dude, it's really good!" lol. The building is pretty unique and they have some outside seating with a massive beautiful tree that over looks the restaurant and takes claim to some of the asphalt in the parking lot lol. But it's a great spot for birthdays, good lunch menu deals, casual date night or if you wanna blow some steam off, they have a little bar in the restaurant as well. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend. I'm from East Texas, so I'm no Cajun/Louisianan but they truly got some good grub here. I'll definitely be coming back several more times when I get the chances. I will warn you, I believe the food is freshly made so when it gets to the table, give it some time to cool off because it comes out HOT.

Babineaux's Cafe definitely met the criteria, it's definitely a part of the local history and culture. The exterior looks a little worn and the parking well it's random to say the least I think the locals here park wherever they feel comfortable and that's okay there's plenty of options. We were greeted by the friendly staff as soon as we walked in and found a seat without a wait although the place had already began to fill for lunch service. There's a lot of standard fare on the printed menus but my eyes went directly to the daily specials handwritten on the chalkboard which changes daily. The staff here is so efficient and quick to describe the specials and grab your drink order and of course they have freshly brewed sweet tea. After looking over the board I could not resist the home cooking option, a perfectly fried pork-chop, green beans, corn and of course a healthy portion of rice and gravy, it was outstanding so much like my momma made, we also ordered a club sandwich on toast, no frills just down home deliciousness. This is definitely a gem in the community and a must try if you want a taste of the local culture and to experience the unmatched hospitality from the people in southwest Louisiana, this is what I miss and always look forward to when returning to the state I was born and raised in...

It's not huge inside but we had no trouble getting a comfortable seat at lunchtime. There's a menu and there's a board of lunch specials. The friendly and attentive service couldn't be beat. If you see the grilled pork ribeye on the specials board you need to get it. The tastiest and most moist pork you may ever eat. The home cooked style vegetables will just make your meal a home run. We are already hoping that the timing on our next trip west coincides with lunchtime here and hopefully the grilled pork ribeye will be on the specials board.
