Once inside, the atmosphere was classy, intimate, and really well done. The pianist was fantastic and played a mix of modern songs, which was a fun twist and added a lot to the vibe. The bartenders were also wonderful, very attentive and genuinely helpful when we were deciding what to order. They asked about our preferences and helped each of us find a cocktail that suited our tastes perfectly. The drinks were delicious, smooth, and clearly well made. We had such a nice time here and would absolutely come back the next time we're in town. Definitely a great spot if you're looking for creative cocktails and a fun, upscale speakeasy experience.

My Wife and I have been visiting Cosmo's for many years. It's always been a place you can go to and…read morefeel comfortable. It can be hit or miss depending on what you order however, we have been enough to know and share with others what to order and what to stay away from. The following is from our most recent visit. We began the meal with a Cosmo and a Fairhope Brewery Blue Steel Sour. Both were very good. The Blue Steel sour has notes of blueberry. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese dip. It consist of three cheeses, including Gruyere, which is one of our favorites. The cheese also comes with feta cheese and a tomato relish over the top, which we find very good. It makes the cheese dip a little different than others. The tomatoes are very soft and the relish is on the sweeter side. My Wife got the chicken roulade. It was okay. The chicken was good however, it is wrapped in bacon and flash fried. In our opinion the flash fry isn't needed and it adds the risk of the bacon being overdone or burnt, which is what happened. The Parmesan risotto was a little gummy but had good flavor. The cream sauce that accompanied the dish was probably the best part. I got the fish sandwich and upgraded from sheepshead to grouper. You can get it fried, blackened or grilled. I chose grilled and it was really good. It was not the first time I have gotten the fish sandwich. The bun is a sourdough/Hawaiian roll hybrid. I got an order of fries to go with the fish sandwich. Their fries are really really. They're slightly battered and crunchy. Very good with ketchup or tartar sauce or both! If you visit I would suggest sticking to the fish sandwich, burger or fish dish (grilled/blackened) that comes with a cream based sauce. Their drinks and beer is selection really good as well. Most of the time on weekends they have live music if that's your kind of thing.

We saw flying adverts for this place while at the beach, so we figured why not?…read more We found it pretty easily and it gives a very comfortable vibe, so dress up or down they will welcome you in. Our server, Michael was absolutely wonderful. (Plus he has amazing hair!) Anyway, we started with my Smoked Old Fashioned (It was ok, bartender went a little heavy on the bitters, and I should've asked for Bulleit Rye but that was my bad.) Anyway, Honey got a Black and Blue. Both came out super quick and we were instantly refreshed. We chose to sit in the patio bc the weather was nice and not too hot or cold. It was just right. We started with the ColCannon Boxty Appetizer. It is small balls of shredded potatoes that are fried, and come with a delish aioli dipping sauce. We chose to split the Shepherds pie for our main course. The meat gave me meat loaf vibes but with a ground beef texture and a unique aftertaste.. It was good, just the texture is unique! It came with a small portion of the Brown Bread with Garlic butter. It was good! We asked for more Garlic butter. It was delicious! We would've ordered a Creme Brûlée but we were both stuffed. It was overall a great place and we will visit it again. A must visit if you are in Orange Beach!

Quick summary:…read more Reuben: Below expectations Fish & chips: Met expectations Chicken pot pie: Below expectations Wings: Below expectations Old Fashioned: Below expectations Guinness: Met expectations French 75: Met expectations I had heard great things about this place, so my expectations were high. The inside bar area is very cool, but it was extremely loud at night. If you're eating dinner, don't expect to have much of a conversation. We ordered several of the things they're supposedly exceptional at, and most of it was just "meh." The Reuben was the biggest disappointment. It was supposed to be one of the best Reubens around, but honestly, Arby's is just as good. If you want a truly exceptional Reuben, go to Napoleon House in New Orleans. The fish and chips were fine. The wings were also okay, but nothing memorable. The chicken pot pie was unique and clearly made fresh. It contained shredded chicken, which was a little different, and had a strong spice flavor that I couldn't identify (tarragon). I didn't dislike it, but I wouldn't reorder. The Old Fashioned was disappointing. The Guinness and French 75 were both good and met expectations. None of the food was actually bad. We simply had much higher expectations based on the restaurant's reputation and what we were told they do exceptionally well. Service was good, and the atmosphere was cool. Overall, it's an interesting place, but the food didn't live up to the hype. Clearly, I'm in the minority because this place has excellent reviews--especially on Yelp, where reviewers can be pretty tough. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews because food is subjective, and this may simply be a "tomayto, tomahto" situation. Everything I found average could be amazing to someone else. This was just my experience.

My wife, who doesn't even eat seafood, and loved it. That alone says a lot about the quality of the kitchen. Very friendly people here. Our view was the kitchen, they seem to accomplish quite a alot for the kitchen size. I started out with gumbo, very interesting mix of contents, sausage, shrimp, short rib (menu says chicken), a dark roux and a scoop of potato salad in the middle, very tasty and different. Next she had the pork chop with peach and bacon chutney over pimento cheese grits. The Pork chop was perfect. The chutney, one bite was very heavy on the vinegar. I had the fried chicken tasso gravy, hot honey, marinated sweet potato. This was an exceptional dish and was full when I finished. It was a good experience. Given it was a Friday night at 6ish.
