This time around, I decided to try one of the toppers and got the Cajun topping with my porterhouse. It was a heavenly surprise. A great tasting topping that took nothing away from the always delicious and perfectly cooked steak. The fiancé got the Chicken Laredo which was surprisingly good for a steakhouse. Although sides are hardly mentioned, I recommend the loaded baked potato. The staff is always great and one staff member always manages to help the other so that service is always top notch. The atmosphere is a perfect steakhouse atmosphere, but also with a great view of the Colorado. So if you're in Laughlin at the Golden Nugget, make a stop at Saltgrass Steakhouse.

Since I knew that the Fish N Chips offered here was no longer All You Can Eat, I opened with an add on: a refreshing Side Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing. It contained several small cubes of tomato, and helped to fill me up, as designed. Our entrees arrived soon afterward. Besides Coleslaw that had a good balance of creaminess and crunchiness, and nicely seasoned elongated French Fries, the battered fish on my plate consisted of three large batons of very heat-hot fish that tasted great dipped in provided Tartar Sauce after application of a little lemon juice and malt vinegar. One of my batons was a little undercooked; the other two were perfect. Diane liked her Fish N Chips as well, plus the Fried Shrimp, but wished that her shrimps had been battered rather than breaded. Our server, Chris G., did a great job of waiting on us, and quickly fulfilled our requests for ketchup, malt vinegar, and in Diane's case Coleslaw removed from her plate. Even though I was pretty full at meal's end, I knew that if we had gone to an AYCE place like Black Bear Diner across the Colorado River, I would have downed at least one more filet of fish. The Fish N Chips offering here was quite reasonably priced, so Diane and I discussed putting in another order to split, and decided to do so. Thus, I called our server over and tried to put in the order. Alas, I was told that no more fish remained--but not to worry about making a belated request, because the cook had informed him that no more fish remained right after receiving our initial order. So we couldn't have had more fish even if we had tried to add a third helping with our original order. Next time I will arrive earlier in the evening!

Even Andy Hersey, a darling C&W guitarist and singer/songwriter, helped announce our progress through the on-line competition to the delightful patrons on March 31st. The venue was perfection as we were in the south covered "dog friendly" patio and the extraordinary kindness that was present from the wait staff, patrons, and the gracious owners allowed us to raise $38,000 in HSSA's First Ever March Muttness Championship Round and $80,000 in total !!!!. This is a milestone we have never reached before--and it happened because of all of our supporters and to the beautiful people we met at "The Ranch Bar and Grill" - they really rallied to support the local pets in the care of the HSSA! The lobster and crab cakes were delicious too! We will definitely be back for future 2027 March Muttness Tournament Watch Parties, nights out, and to enjoy our new friend Andy's music as he is definitely a crowd favorite. We stayed 5.5 miles away, on the River Walk, made the leisurely return drive to Bonito once we saw the colorful frontage on an earlier foray into Bullhead City for necessary provisions once we RECOILED from the sky high prices at the Harrah's Tropicana (ex, $7.49 for a 20oz jar of Diet Pepsi). BG greets its guests with festive, brightly painted dark orange. We began our course with a titanic mango margarita. To their credit, they feature warmed bean dip topped with crumbled queso fresco as an accompaniment to their chips/salsa. Leti, after choosing BG for its seafood heavy menu, threw a curve and opted for a bowl of birria soup. I chose an Asada Chimichanga with a duo of asada tacos dorados. The tortillas are handmade and delicious! Both Leti and I marveled at the quality of the house Mexican rice, super fresh, fluffed and teeming with a light, florid tomato-dense taste complimented by Lima beans. Quite the refreshing departure from the bland rice dispensed by 90% of Mexican restaurants! My wife said that her Caldo de Birria was good...but that it wasn't super plentiful in meat. My chimi arrived golden brown with a heap of melted cheddar jack cheese bullseyed on the top. The interior is studded with asada, bell peppers and onions. First time I've ever seen bell peppers utilized inside burritos! The asada crunchy (dorado) tacos were generously stuffed with asada...but zero accompaniments like onions/cilantro/lettuce or tomato. I hadta redeploy the lettuce/tomato served alongside my chili, inside my tacos! If you're gonna charge $5/Taco at least send them properly attired! Gentle suggestion: Consider offering guests a side serving of fresh lettuce, tomato, diced onions and cilantro to dress up their tacos. Or, serve them with a ramekin of steamy birria broth... The mango marg was not "super sweet" (as our server Daniela had described) and we both thought it was stingy on the tequila, esp for its $16.99 belt, er, tab. Our bill was $86 incl taxes and tip for two entrees, a cocktail and a soda.
