We've been to Feathers twice, and both times the food was excellent. I was honestly surprised to see such a low Yelp rating because our meals have been consistently great. I will say the service was much better during our second visit (8/1), and the staff who took care of us that day did a great job. In general, though, I feel the customer service throughout the Avi could be friendlier, and that's really the only reason I'm not giving five stars. The ambiance is just okay. The restaurant feels a bit dull and could use some updates to make it more inviting. Overall, though, we'd definitely return because the food has been consistently delicious. read more

Mediocre food, we both ordered the "epic" burrito, one with chicken and one with carne asada. Let's just say they were anything but epic! The plates lacked any type of garnish. Just a burrito cut in half with two potions cups of different salsa. Look if you have the guts to call something epic you better know the meaning of it. No frills cafe inside the Avi Resort and Casino. It wasn't too busy and we were able to get a booth on a Friday night. The service was friendly. It took a few minutes to get our order in, but once we did the food came out fast. The Country Fried steak was good and crispy. The Fish Fry was a generous portion, but the fries and fish could have been a bit crispier. The side salad was a good size too. It's reasonably priced and good alternative to the pricier steakhouse next door or the food court. read more

Feathers Cafe inside Avi Casino, only bad thing I could say that really upset me was the older lady with her hair in a bun looked at me and my friend that asked her kindly if she could warm up my babies bottle I know they may be rules and all but it's for a BABY she gave us a dirty look and said no. HOSTESSES (morning and evening shifts) lack of enthusiasm and may be snarky/sassy AND genuinely pissed off to be there. Servers are friendly and the food is well prepared and flavorful. Make sure to arrive before their last call/don't get there less than an hour that they close.. They will turn you away if they are too busy or have big groups. Did you want to order To go? SORRY NO, they don't do that. Wanna look at the menu? SORRY NO, you can't do that. Expecting some empathy to feed yourself or loved ones? SORRY NO, go wait in the smokey casino. BTW they closed the Pancho Villa restaurant. So nada there. Management needs to have a pow wow with the restaurant team and find a way to get hungry guests that enjoy the resort but are left in a crappy situation when the only restaurant worth having is denying people. This cafe is within Avi Resort and Casino. I must report that I wasn't impressed from the start of the experience to the finish. We stood there for several minutes waiting to be seated, which was fine. It also took several more minutes to be acknowledged by the server, and that was only her saying to us, " I dont have a runner. I have to drop off these salads". When our order was finally taken, it was done very robotically, and nothing close to a smile or friendliness was received. I ordered what i wanted on my burger (option to order add ons), and the waitress (Diana) simply stated "you only get 3, i have to charge you" to which i stated "ok, charge me". Clearly, if i am ordering it, i want it and i am paying for it right? The burger was not bad. It had flavor as well as the other food. About 2 bites into my burger the waitress (Diana) dropped off the bill and we never saw her again. I guess she decided for us that we didn't want to order anything else. There's nothing special about this place whatsoever. I was thoroughly disappointed, and I don't plan to ever return here. Once again, they never disappoint. We went to Native buffet, but it has closed. So we came here and always got 5 star service and food. It was my first time at breakfast, and it was perfect. Came here for breakfast with some friends while in Laughlin. The service is a little weird. Not very friendly and a little annoyed by you is the sense I felt and that was a little off putting but after the order came it seemed ur server who was a gentlemen started to smile and be kind. The food well that's a whole notha story haha fantastic prime rib dip sandwich! The flavor is fantastic the fries cooked to perfection. My friends breakfast selection she said was cooked perfectly and she enjoyed it as well. We came here to use our comps. The good news if you are a players club member you get 10% off the meal, so make sure you get our card. The other is make sure you use your comps. We ordered the meal. I got the chicken BLTA sandwich with sweet potato fries. My wife got the breakfast which had pancakes, sausage, bacon and hash browns. Very big for $15 dollars for each plate. Service was okay. You pay your bill at the register. So make sure if you are paying with your players card to say you want to use your comps as they had to void my check and do another one as the first one only applied the 10% players club discount. Good thing my wife was persistent on this as even though it took 15 minutes, it came out owing 13 cents. I ended up giving them a bigger tip in cash because of this. I made a direct call to the executive office on day one of a three day stay. No response. I'm told by line staff that they have chosen to ignore and hide from complaints due to the sheer volume of those complaints. This property is a dump. Upper management is cowardly and incompetent. Feathers has a good assortment of choices in food, one of my favorite's is the Prime rib dinner, The Hottie (Prime rib hot beef sandwich}. Deserts not so. Service is good not 100% but good. We've checked into the Avi Resort yesterday afternoon & have made 3 trips to Feathers Cafe located within Avi. During all 3 visits- Sandi & every staff member that was assigned to our table have been very kind. Sandi was the cashier that even mentioned to us- if we signed up for the Avi Advantage rewards card- we can save 10% off our Feathers Cafe bill. Dining room over head music is in sync to the music on the casino floor- and it's all about the 80s- some 70s tunes as well. Heck, I don't mind it at all. 80s music actually takes me back!!! The printed menu has a daily menu- which a specific entree is featured on a certain day- as there is also the appetizer/ starters, breakfast, burgers, salad, side item options. I ordered the Soup of the Moment- Beef Vegetable cup & don't be fooled by the portion. This cup serving kicks in plenty of flavor in that broth. Rich & dark... you can see that oil shine floating on top... perhaps from the cubed cuts of beef w/ tiny specks of fat. I'm sure that's what gives this broth flavor. Lima beans, peas, & onions are here too. Mondays feature Turkey Pot Pie night- and for the price & portion- it was a great serving for one person. That flaky pastry crust was light & golden. Butter brushed. And the cream filling in the turkey pot pie was buttery too! I just wanted to slurrrp the cream of turkey!!! There's a Whole Pie carousel. The Avi has finally re-opened one of it's restaurants and because we gambled quite a bit we accrued a lot of points on our cards. My husban and I decided to have dinner there before gambling on Sunday evening so our meal was comped. To be honest I really wasn't expecting too much but we decided to each order the prime rib dinner. I was blown away! It was the perfect done-ness (med. rare) and it was super delicious. The outside was not overly salted and the au jus was also not overly salty. That alone was great but I didn't expect the meat to taste so good. It almost tasted like A+ or Prime grade. It came with a side of corn and I chose mashed potatoes and my husband had a baked potato. I wasn't a huge fan of the gravy, it tasted kind of fake but I was so engrossed in my prime rib it was like nothing else on my plate even existed hahahah The menu choices are still limited due to covid but I'd eat there again in a heart beat. I would stay at the Avi Resort and Casino just for this place at my next visit to Laughlin. The staff were amazing. The food and coffee tasted better than any Denny's or IHOP I've been to here in Southern California. The rooms were a 6.5-7/10. I kept feeling like I smelled cigarette smoke. One of the beds had ripped sheets in it and housekeeping didn't change the seats the next day and I'm pretty sure they noticed the rip. Luckily, we only needed one bed. Lastly, the shower was leaking the whole night and you could hear the drop echo from the bathroom to the bed. But Feathers, your awesome team and cooks is what will make us returning guests. read more
