Riverview Cafe - Disappointing Breakfast for the Price We were hungry for an early-morning breakfast and decided to stop at the Riverview Cafe. The restaurant is currently going through quite a bit of renovation, but there was still plenty of seating available. Unfortunately, the food was a real disappointment, especially considering the price. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, and the eggs were way overcooked. They weren't even remotely runny, which is kind of the whole point of an Eggs Benedict. The dish just didn't live up to what we expected. We also ordered a sausage, eggs-over-easy and hash browns breakfast. The eggs were fine, but the sausage was overcooked and reminded me of the basic brown-and-serve sausage you can buy at the grocery store. There was nothing particularly special about the breakfast. Our bill came to about $41, which honestly felt pretty high for what we received. With so many other breakfast options around Laughlin, we could have easily gone somewhere else and probably spent about half as much. I really wanted to like this place, but based on this experience, I don't think we'd come back. There are simply too many other choices nearby that offer better food and, in my opinion, a better value. Bottom line: The service may be fine and there was plenty of seating, but the food and price just didn't add up for us. This was one breakfast we probably should have skipped. read more

We were very hesitant to come here based on the other reviews and our experience with the resort and Casino, but the restaurant did not disappoint. Full disclosure: There is no River View. At least not when we went. You could see a parking lot and some black trash bags (tarp?) on the walls. That's truly my only complaint. We were seated right away, waitress was nice, polite, friendly, and quickly supplied us with alcohol (which is what you want on a Saturday morning in Laughlin)! The plates were not a crazy large portion of food, but the perfect amount to fill us up. Flavor was there and everything was cooked well. Drinks stayed full and the price was not something I'd complain about lol. We won't be staying at the Don Laughlin resort again but if you made the same mistake we did, don't be afraid to pop into this place for breakfast. read more

Tina, Karen and Leeann all took care of us while we had our first meal in Laughlin at the Dan Laughlin Rivers edge Casino. We stopped in to the Riverview Café for lunch. I ordered a Reuben sandwich and my husband had a hamburger. My sandwich was delicious. The meat was moist and the rye bread had a nice crunch to it. I have to say I was super impressed with the staff. Everyone was so very friendly and there wasn't a request that couldn't be met. We really enjoyed the view of the river. The floor to ceiling windows truly made the restaurant bright and inviting. There wasn't a bad seat in the restaurant. I love how they had the seats closer to the entrance elevated and the seat seats closest to the window were lower so that everyone in the restaurant had a beautiful view. read more

Came to Riverside to bring the family to the movies inside and stopped in here for a late lunch before our movie started. Was pleased to find out they were still serving breakfast. I ordered the hungry man breakfast burrito off the 7.77 specials menu which was a great deal as my burrito was a good size and came with a cup a coffee. My kids also got breakfast and enjoyed their meals. I will say my youngest daughter's pancakes were a little hard but at her age she didn't mind once there was syrup and butter in them.My wife enjoyed a nice soup and salad combo. Our servers were very nice and checked on us through out our meal to make sure we had everything we needed. This is a casual spot so the food wasn't out of this world but for the price we were happy! It also has big windows that are open to a beautiful view of the river. If I was staying g at Riverside I would definitely recommend getting some breakfast or lunch here! read more

This restaurant is in the Riverside casino. We ate there two nights. The food was good and when you left you was full. The waiters were nice and helpful. Always good to be able to ask for suggestions and have a good meal. Most seating is booths. Several are situated so you can look out at the river. read more

Well this was kind of a bump in the road experience. Was looking for a protein heavy meal and ordered a ham and cheese omelette with a side of sourdough bread and some hash browns. The eggs were dry and the cheese look like it was microwaved on to the egg. The ham was diced like you would buy it in a store and was very salty. The hash browns were greasy and the toast was skinny and over-buttered. The Riverside Restaurant is a dumpy little restaurant in a dumpy casino. The food is about as bland as possible and served in as monotone fashion as possible. The only color was the orange slice. The hash browns are straight from the freezer to the grill to the plate. The gravy tastes like plain canned gravy. The eggs were at least cooked correctly. Fortunately they have Tabasco sauce. But they couldn't be bothered to remove the clear plastic seal from a new bottle. One of the staff decided that they would clear an adjacent table and separate out trash, food, and silverware from the plates on the cart in front of our table. That should be a back of house operation. Take the plates as they are to the back and sort it out there. read more

Ate here several times while staying at the Riverside Hotel and Casino. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Generally, the wait for a table was nonexistent to fairly short. Most often, I got a table with a fantastic view of the river. The restaurant was very clean. The food was fairly good. We enjoyed their breakfasts. The Riverside Burger was big, juicy, beefy and delicious. This was accompanied by a generous portion of delicious fries. The French Dip was really good. Their potato salad had way too much mayo. They have good soups. We enjoyed their clam chowder and the navy bean soup. The chicken and rice soup was also good. The shrimp cocktail was a miss for me. They chopped up jumbo shrimp and mixed it in the cocktail sauce. It did not taste bad but I prefer the more traditional version. The seafood platter was also a miss. It seemed like frozen breaded fish, shrimp and calamari rings. It was all rather mushy. The squash, carrots and green bean medley was flavorless. The mashed potatoes were good. Beef gravy accompanied the potatoes. I think cream gravy would have been a better match. The New York Steak and baked potato were good. My biggest gripe was the cigarette smell. The smoking area of the casino was just outside the restaurant. You had to walk through the wall of smoke to get to the restaurant. The smell of the smoke was very noticeable no matter where you sit. Really poor planning. This place had awesome service and a great view with okay food. The big downside is the cigarette smell. read more

The staff here were friendly enough, but unfortunately, the highlight of this place is right there in the name: *the view*. The food, on the other hand, seems to have been inspired by the culinary stylings of a middle-school cafeteria. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad, my wife the chicken sandwich on sourdough, both arrived looking so plain they could have been auditioning for a role at Hometown Buffet. The salad dressing had all the sophistication of a Kraft bargain-bin bottle, and the sandwich somehow managed to make both chicken and sourdough taste like cardboard. It's the kind of food that makes you nostalgic for airport hotel restaurants, the ones that used to be decent, but are now run by a chef and management team who clearly gave up years ago. For the price, it felt like a parody: gourmet pricing for generic food. So yes, the "Riverview" part is accurate, you'll get a nice view. I was looking forward to a great ambient with waterfront view, I asked the waiter as soon as she approached us,at line, she said ok, but at tge end she sat us st the worst corner with absolutely NO view, when questioned she madly said " everything is full , if I gad anything I would of sat you there, " the more I thought about it. Update 3-29-23 We visited this restaurant again. My wife had the Denver Omelettte ($13.95) and I had the Cobb Salad ($13.50). The omellete is big with no shortage of diced ham, cheese, bell peppers and onion. Served with crispy hash browns and my wife's favorite marble rye toast. The salad had a plentiful amount of diced turkey, bacon, tomato, avocado, black olives, bleu cheese and hard boiled eggs, sitting atop a bed of crispy greens. I opted for a flavorful Italian dressing, served on the side. Two people could easily share both of these dishes. read more

If it wasn't for the great view of the river I would have given no stars. The service was deplorable, my meatloaf came with a salad that never arrived ( I would have asked my server but he was as non existent as salad). My wife's chicken sandwich was (as she put it) dryer than dry and just as tasty. My meatloaf was just above body temperature. The only hot thing on my plate was the mashed potatoes and gravy which were also the best tasting thing on the plate. I came with some coworkers. We're on travel assignment, in Needles, giving vaccines. We decided to have a coworker outing and we came to Laughlin for a drinky-poo, laser tag and dinner. After all the fun, we were hunnnggryy. The Riverview Restaurant was the only open place, in the casino after 9:30. I ordered the Ruben with mashed potatoes abs gravy. Our waitress (I believe her name is Sharon) was SUCH a sweetheart. I was happy with my Ruben! I think they may have used American cheese instead of swill, it tasted like (I'm not ). It wasn't the BEST Ruben I've ever had but it was pretty tasty. The rye bread had a swirl design on It that made it fun. The mashed potatoes and gravy were good too! I even got a little gravy to go for my leftovers. The gravy isn't homemade or anything. I've read lots of bad reviews on this restaurant and I'm glad I got lucky with my dish. read more

Went here for breakfast after staying the weekend at Riverside Casino. Didn't want to drive out, so picked this place even though the reviews were not that good. Well anyway, we walked in, and there was no line. Stood at the front near the cashier so we could get seated. The cashier ignored us, so we waited. Eventually, a young lady came and sat us. She wasn't very pleasant. The busser eventually took out beverage order, he seemed very awkward. Then the server came to take our order, he too seemed very awkward. It was a nice day to sit with a view of the river, which is the main selling point of this restaurant. From the start to finish our service was good. Our server "Jimmy" was very attentive to our needs and was pleasant and professional. We were also enjoying some day drinking, which if you are gambling this factor is taken care of, but not while dining. Hence the large amount of drinks on our bill. I won't critique the booze, but stick to beer, the mixed drinks are not worth the money. We ordered a little bit of everything, soup, eh, not much to say about and I love Navy Bean. The shrimp cocktail was for an infant, but hey we had to try it. Our meals, a Rueben (I try Reubens everywhere I travel) was decent. The adult grilled ham & cheese was yummy, a tad over board on the sodium, but it could have been in the cooking process? And a chicken Caesar, this was by far the best of the three. Not giant, but fresh and fair amount of chicken with good flavor. Hey folks, Don Laughlin built this town, and his casino still delivers for the most part. Good service, clean and a decent lunch. With the bed and breakfast package, you get $20 credit each morning in two restaurants. Most of the folks here were older and seemed like regulars. Unfortunately most of the food was below average. I went to have breakfast. Which was horrible. The coffee was watered down and flavorless even with creamer and sugar. They don't season their food. The sourdough bread didn't taste like sourdough also the eggs you have to add lots of salt and pepper. The views were nice. read more

This restaurant is located on the casino floor of the Riverside. They have huge floor to ceiling windows with awesome views of the Colorado River. Posted at the entrance is a sign stating they are short staffed so I expected a bit of a wait but was pleasantly surprised, the wait was very minimal. They were working hard to seat everyone as quickly as possible. Seating options include booths or tables. Food was served lukewarm, gravy was on the salty side. Christian, my server was very polite and checked on me a couple of times to ensure I had everything I needed and that my order was to my liking. I did have to request a drink refill and if you want water you'll need to ask for it. They are no longer open 24 hours but do open at 6:30AM seven days a week. I'll be back! read more

Not sure why people eat here, this is my second time coming here and I regret it. The staff here isn't that cordial, and despite the nice view, there is zero reason to come here when there are several other restaurants located near the river. In addition to bad customer service, the food is gross. We ordered appetizers and they were bad tasting. After having appetizers, we decided not to get dinner here. This place has potential to do well due to its location, however this place needs to retrain staff and replace the cook. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more
