Pretty much the only restaurant you need to know out here in Needles. An american restaurant with burgers, sandwiches, steak and eggs, and all types of diner-type breakfast food. I got the meatloaf sandwich on sourdough bread. The meatloaf was seasoned well and was easy to bite through. It came with fries and all at a reasonable price. My co-worker got their burger and said it tasted like a homemade gourmet burger made with a thick patty. Back in Needles after a year and wanted to give this place another chance, plus my son was intrigued by this nostalgic diner. The country fried steak was good, not the best I've had but no issues with it. The hash browns were a hit, nice and crispy. The biscuit and gravy tasted real homemade and delicious. Such a great place to stop! We were on our way back to Illinois from Los Angeles and accidentally ended up staying in Needles unplanned. Desperate for a place to sit and relax before hitting the road again we popped in here. Food was AMAZING! They had plenty of options so everyone was happy. Always wanted to stop in, finally did. The interior is super cute and what you would expect from a cute Route 66 type diner. The service was excellent, Lori H our server was kind and attentive. The food was really good. We tried the cinnamon roll French toast and the pot roast melt with fries. The cinnamon roll French toast was delicious and definitely recommended. The pot roast melt was a solid diner style sandwich. The bread on the sandwich was perfectly toasted, not soggy or greasy. The pot roast was tender, in my opinion the sandwich overall lacked some pizazz but it still was good enough to clear my plate. The French fries were delicious and fried perfectly, nice and warm. This is a popular place on Route 66 and we were seated immediately. They were about half full and you could tell from surrounding conversations mostly locals. Our server was very friendly and very attentive. Our food arrived hot and did not disappoint. The portion sizes were ample and very filling. My chorizo was made to perfection and even the tortillas were homemade. My friend said his skillet with the pot roast was amazing but the biscuit and gravy tasted out of a can. Stopped here while charging my Tesla. They've got a few chargers right in the parking lot, which makes it super convenient. It was lunchtime, so I headed inside, and I'm glad I did! The place is a cute little spot decorated with an old-timey western theme that fits the vibe perfectly. The staff was friendly and quick to greet me. I ordered the jalapeño burger with onion rings (small upcharge, but totally worth it). The burger was delicious and the onion rings were perfectly crispy. Service was fast too -- I'm guessing they're used to people popping in for a quick bite while their car charges. I don't know much about Needles, but this spot makes an excellent lunch stop, especially if you're driving through and need to top off your battery. Would definitely stop here again! read more

Whenever we're on a road trip from Cali to Arizona, Wagon Wheel is a great spot for some honest grub. The latest visit was satisfying, as usual. Service friendly, food came fast and tasted great. There was nothing remotely healthy about this sandwich and that was perfectly fine. - Chicken Fried Steak: Super generous portions! The gravy was definitely flour-heavy, but was very tasty. It was a little too salty for my taste but my husband and teenager both ordered this and absolutely devoured their meals. - Kid's Spaghetti: Super basic but it is a kid's menu item. My child got the meatballs with it, which brought the price up like $4 but they definitely tasted homemade and it was his favorite part, so hey. Needles, Ca. Well this was sure a surprise. Stoped in for lunch while the car was charging. We thought that the place looked old and a bit run down from the outside, so I was forming some projected opinions based on the looked of the exterior. Upon entry and noting the old and divey decor I was ready to skip lunch and just have cheese and crackers out in the car. Stephanie encouraged me to at least see if there might be something on the menu I would like, so we sat. The whole place is full of knick knacks, typically they would be covered in a blanket of dust, but here they are clean. Someone's job is to dust all those things. Our server arrived with waters and menus quickly. We both ordered the brisket omelet. It arrived and just looked gorgeous. The first bite told the story of the delicious creation of the cook (Chef?) that was to be enjoyed. Wonderful tender brisket with smoked chilies accompaniment. A single seared Sorrento lay atop the dish, so I took a little bite and felt the fire, this was the real deal. I could not eat the whole thing. The coffee was good and packed a buzz.
