We were traveling w/small dog and he sat under INSIDE table w/us Salad we had was large and more than enough for 2 adults Zucchini sticks were fantastic! Hand sliced and breading not heavy. Asked if air fried and I must have offended waitress but they were not greasy or overly thick w/breading. Zucchini was crisp and delicious! A little gift shop when u first enter so staff may not notice your there for test-- just keep walking towards restaurant area and they'll see you. Lighting was good. Comfy booths/tables. Traveling through Needles California on a long road trip on April 26, 2025. Decided to break up my road time by visiting a local restaurant. This was an excellent choice. It's a very fun place. Staff is accommodating, lots of interesting decor. I had a Lunch special, which was a half sandwich with fries, and soup. The soup with cheddar with jalapeño and it was absolutely terrific! The jalapeño was just the right amount, a little bit of zing but not overwhelming. Grilled cheese sandwich and fries, is a nice way to get off the road for a while but not go back out there bloated and tired. It may seem a little bit high to give this five star rating, but it's unique, fun, and a long way from anything else. This is classic diner food with a classic diner / truck stop ambiance. Service was a little slow, but the place was slammed for breakfast on a Sunday. Hubby had a chicken fried steak with eggs and home fries and I had a single biscuit with gravy and home fries. Food was good, but could use a little up tick in flavor, specifically the steak and the gravy could use a bit of salt. Both came out a little bland in our opinion. We prefer our home fries a bit more crispy, but these had great flavor and you can add peppers and onions if you like. They have some of the fluffiest biscuits and eggs were perfectly cooked. Actually, 4.5 stars. The Wagon Wheel is a delightful, fun filled stop in a tiny, hot desert town whose main attraction is being near the California-Arizona border alongside the Colorado River. The servers are delightful, the food was great, the prices were quite reasonable. The locals love it, and so do the tourists who are lucky enough to discover this gem, for its quirky, humorous Old West ambiance, much as if it had been kidnapped from Knotts' Berry Farm. A quaint gift shop and an old Prospector sitting on a wooden bench (apparantly fondly known as Pappy) are the first things to catch your eye as you walk in. The decor is adorable. The kids' burger was actually the star of the show. It had everyone at our table drooling and begging for a taste. It came with a freshly baked, beautiful bun and a "superb" (to quote the 12 year old grandson) 1/3 lb patty with beautiful grill marks and excellent flavor. This came with a large plateful of fries. The burger was such a hit that we ordered a second one to go. In reality, it never made it out the door. Three merciless adults shamefully vacuumed that baby down before it got a chance to cool. MUST HAVE THIS AGAIN! Fresh cheddar biscuits, hot out of the oven. Haven't had such light, beautiful biscuits in decades. We had to wait an extra 15 minutes for them to come out of the oven, but it was worth the wait. Clam chowder. After all, it WAS Friday. The chowder was OK, not great. Creamy and plenty of clams. Chicken Fried Steak. A nice sized, pounded steak with a crisp coating and a creamy bacon flavored gravy. It came with lumpy (!) mashed potatoes and fresh green beans. Very respectable, better than most. There was enough for 2 to share. Meatloaf dinner. Did not meet Mr. B's expectations, which are pretty high, but I could not drag out of him the reason why. Bland? Apple pie. I suspect they must bake their own. The crust was excellent, very delicate, and crumbled in your mouth. The apples were tart and slightly firm. I really enjoyed the lightly sweetened filling with a hint of cinnamon. If you are looking for a solid diner that serves food mostly made from scratch, this is the place! Their very extensive menu is torturously filled with All-American, comfort-food. This was a near-perfect meal that makes us want to return to try more. read more

We have been several times. Some food items were good but some are just nasty. spaghetti and hamburgers kids meals were bad tasting and the hamburger was pretty raw inside. the place is hot, the ac does not work and the bathrooms were pretty disgusting. read more

I am a local, Mohave Valley resident, and have never tried this place before and I am glad I did. I ordered an omelet and it was quite tasty and cooked perfectly. I've been in here twice now to eat & their food is sooo yummy! My last visit was on 07/29/2024 around noon while on my way back to Vegas with my friend after we spent 3 nights in Lake Havasu. It's on your way back to Vegas. From my past photos it looks like we both ordered the same breakfast dishes...lol I've had their breakfast sandwich on a croissant with ham, egg & cheese. It's soooo tasty! My friend got the Wagon Wheel Chili omelet that he enjoyed. This past visit he got the biscuits & gray & he didn't like it. He said the biscuit was very dry & it sure looked like it was. First visit I got toast with "fake" butter but that was tasty. I wanted a grilled bagel but they don't serve them there. I wanted a soda water but the waitress said they were out of C02 but offered me Pepsi soda products. I was a little confused on how they're out of C02 but have it for soda? We both just went with water & we both thought it tasted gross. Our food came out super fast this visit, I swear within like 5 minutes, how AMAZING! Love their cute little gift shop, has a bunch of cute stuff in there. I did buy stuff on my first visit but nothing on this visit. I love their WW T-shirts that they wear & wanted to buy one for my brother but their shirts are unorganized on the rack. You have to find the tag in the neckline to see what size it is & thats just too time consuming. The ladies bathroom could use a makeover. Old & has a weird stink to it & not from bodily fluids...lol You definitely have to stop in here if you're in the area & hungry. They serve breakfast ALL day & have other food items to choose from that aren't breakfast. Our waitress was Roxy who was nice, very attentive & checked on us more than once. The Wagon Wheel is a cafe in Needles you can see it when getting off the fwy. The restaurant has been in Needles for years. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is sold. Our party had biscuit and gravy, Belgium Waffle and eggs, and a turkey melt. Belgium waffle breakfast fluffy waffle would definitely order again. Turkey melt with avocado was the bomb. Definitely order again. The biscuit and gravy was bland the waitress mentioned the person who normally makes the Harvey was out that morning. Two out of three isn't bad at all. Our waitress was the best very friendly let us know the specials and talked about the menu. Make this a stop if in the area or on hwy 40. read more

Interesting, eclectic, fun, and good food! This place is a 'find' in the literal food desert among the scrub brush in Needles, right at the California-Arizona border. The place has been around awhile and very down to earth and unpretentious. I especially appreciated that there were several local folks eating here, so it's not just a tourist stop off the highway. The menu is quite extensive, and I chose the pot roast melt for a late lunch. I got it with a side of potato salad. The sandwich was tasty, fresh, and well prepared. They didn't skimp on anything, and the bread, toasted, was perfect to hold it all together. The potato salad tasted homemade and was exceptional. Overall, it was an excellent meal. I had an iced with it, and it came in an oversized tumbler. The wait staff was very friendly and professional and on top of everything. I was amazed at how well organized they were with it seeming effortless. Plus, they seemed to enjoy their jobs. You may not be staying in the area, but I highly recommend this place for a meal if you're passing through... you might not find better for a couple hundred miles, either direction! read more

Came by as we were traveling along Route 66. I ordered the Burger Mushroom and Potato Salad and husband ordered the Roast Beef plate. They sure gave a big portion. Overall the ambiance was really neat and service was good as well. If you like sweet barbecue sauce, then you would love the meatloaf skillet. For us however, the sauce was just way too sweet for us. I've been coming here for years. The food is so good that we plan our stops between CA and NM so we can stop at least once here. Great diner food - my fav is chicken fried steak or chicken. My steak and eggs was very nice but the steak was cooked medium rare instead of medium well I ordered. They also served the wrong side but they corrected it immediately after I requested. A fun place to stop in for breakfast, which is served all day. Omlette was was good and the special--pecan pancakes--was really good. It's an old timey place, so be prepared for that. Was busy on a Sunday, but the staff were attentive and the food came quickly. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the water tasted "funny" like a filter needed to be replaced. The coffee tasted that way too. Be prepared to pay $50 for the breakfast for two, as that seems to be the way it is all over the country and this place is no exception. Great place to stop for a home cooked bite. This place is the mid point for me when traveling to Flagstaff AZ.

This little "dive" restaurant is popping. The pot roast is excellent along with their cheddar biscuits. The staff is extremely friendly and the ambiance is rustic. The rest of my family got salads and they said they were excellent. The place is known for their breakfast with hand cut steaks on the chicken fried steak and steak and eggs are the staff recommendation. The next time we pass through, we will definitely try the breakfast. Their menu is very extensive with pasta options, and good comfort food option. read more

They were very busy so our drinks weren't refilled as quickly or as often as we'd like. I ordered the cornbeef hash with eggs, hash brown, and biscuits with gravy. The meal was super enjoyable! The gravy for the biscuits was very savory, my main critique was that I wish the biscuits were softer. It seemed that the outside of the biscuits had hardened. The food is DELICIOUS! I have been here a few times, and each time I've eaten here, I've really liked the food. I ordered the chicken fried chicken and it is AMAZING! The breading on the chicken fried chicken is perfect - not too hard or soft. It has a very good flavor. It surprisingly reminds me of Southern Kentucky chicken fried chicken - that's how good it was! The green beans that same with the chicken were cooked well. They are cooked with grilled onions, so it gave the green beans a nice flavor. The baked potato was baked just right.
