I had to leave this review for the Wagon Wheel Restaurant I visited on Thursday! The waitress was perfect, Great Service, and I asked her what sandwich she would recommend, she told me the Club Sandwich was very good! So I ordered the Club sandwich and the Homemade Potato Salad, I can't begin to tell you how delicious this sandwich & potato salad was, it has been a long time since I have actually had a lunch this Good!!! I'm telling you, if you're going through Needles, CA, make the Wagon Wheel Restaurant a must to stop for lunch, dinner or breakfast! You will not be disappointed... On a scale of 1 to 10, this place is a solid 15!!! I mean in every department... read more

Best "country style meal " I've ever had. Even superior to both restaurants in seligman,az. And those are pretty good.

Stopped here on a recent trip while passing through Needles and I'm glad I did! I love these old Route 66 landmarks and this place had gotten good reviews so I decided to give it a try. The homemade meatloaf skillet was delicious and they even had a sweet tea to wash it down. Cool decor and artwork added to a nostalgic ambience... Staff was attentive and food was served in a timely manner. Highly recommended! read more

Food is great and the service is good. We enjoy the place very much. The prices are good also.

This is our go to breakfast place during the week. When I'm out at the river, this is one of the breakfast spots.

Well, don't know how they got higher ratings? Was not impressed with the food!!! Ordered waffle combo with strawberries, waffle was a frozen waffle, strawberry's were not fresh, frozen!! Had to ask 3 times for more syrup!! The sausage links were a joke, smaller than my little finger!!! Would have thought from the hype of this place would have been much better food!!! Service was good, except for getting more syrup!!! Will not recommend or return!!!! read more

Reviews said good American food and we're in the mood - bingo ringo! Great sauces & gravy flavors, solid combos well prepared and tasty, service with a smile, a bit salty already so taste first, large portion for a 70-yr old but sure does satisfy. read more

Visited 10/26/2022 A nice Historic Eating establishment in a small town. Renowned by the locals to be the Best Restaurant in Needles. Lots of homemade food to choose from on the menu. We tried a Patty Melt sadly not great but ok. Had almost no onions so not what a Patty Melt is all about but the ground beef was very tasty. The French Fries we're Excellent. I had the homemade meatloaf dinner. A large serving but I've had better. All the same it's worth a stop if in the area and a nice place to grab a bite. read more

Great spot to stop and eat when traveling along I-40. We're usually passing through around breakfast time. The food is very good and the service is great as well. It has an old west kind of feel to it. It's always busy but service is still great. I didn't get any pictures this time but we will be going back. read more

This place is ok for a roadside diner. Breakfasts are great, dinner entrees we've had are just ok. Tried the fajitas .. they were ok, but nothing I'd order again. read more

I come to Needles for work occassionally. I always stop here for dinner when I arrive. The center cut pork chops are the best! And the servers are all very nice. I keep coming back for a reason:) read more

4.5 stars, rounded up. We were actually looking for a particular taco shop when we saw this place and beelined over. This meal truly set the tone for my trip! Not only was our waitress super friendly, but the food was really good- yes it's diner, but with breakfast and dinner served all day, I was able to order a pot roast sandwich at 7 am. The meat was lean, tender and perfectly seasoned, onions crisp, toast buttery+thick, potato salad standard and coffee solid. I tried the waffle with strawberries, and while tasty, I am grateful I didn't order it myself. P.S.: the restroom is of poor design: the room is loooong but the toilet is along the narrow side and I hit my head on the wall while attempting to cop a squat. Overall, a wonderful stop in the area!!! Pros: - friendly - huge menu - whimsical decor - pot roast sandwich - lots of parking - clean - decently priced Cons: - service a bit slow - condiments are typical diner quality- International Delight single serve creamers, Smucker's jam etc - sewage smell outside read more

Pros: not only is this a fun landmark to stop at, but the food is delicious. They had a vegetarian patty that tasted soooo good, and they can make any burger with the replacement patty, win win! If you are on Route 66 or near the area, this is the spot to eat at, hands down! Cons: they didn't have the wine I wanted and they gave my husband the wrong beer, but no biggie, we just went with the flow. Will return when in the area read more

Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. It was very cozy and we were served so quickly. Loved the patty melts.

I give this restaurant a two because the service was quick and the server very friendly. I should not have expected much when the water tasted bad, but the food was bland and tasteless. A thin slice of cheese on a plain omelet does not make it a cheese omelet. The booth we were seated at needed new cushioning. read more

Ate the pot roast melt, potato salad, and a side salad with strawberry dressing. Sandwich was great and the horseradish sauce totally made it. Very spicy but it's on the side. Potato salad was good. The salad itself was standard ingredients but the dressing was great! Super sweet with chunks of strawberry. read more

Horrible customer service. Passing by the town on our family trip, we stopped by for lunch. Waitress didn't acknowledge us none of the employees greeted us. We were standing for a good minute. Waitress passed by but did not bother seating us down. We were actually greeted by customers there and seated by them. We sat down pregnant waitress finally approaches us and her demeanor was way off, just the everything about her customer service gave us an uncomfortable feeling. We ordered drinks this place made us feel very unwelcome. We didn't want to stay any longer we left and paid 15 dollars for drinks we didn't even touch. For any Hispanics don't stop I have not encountered racism until now. This joint garbage. read more

Absolutely the worst pork chop of our lives. The waitress was very nice and smiled a lot. When I complain she smiled and said she was down a cook. Is that my problem. I was considering it for breakfast but after this terrible experience I would go for McDonald's instead. You can fill up at McDonalds for 5 bucks and this place is $20.00. That's crazy. The waitress never offered to recook the pork chops or offer a discount. Terrible experience. read more

Food was amazing, beer was cold. Can get busy, the waitresses run their butts off but always get you taken care of. Had simple meatloaf...but had a hint of green chili mixed in...was unbelievably tasty!! Apparently it was just red bell pepper..we don't get bell peppers like that in my neck of the woods! My server Dana was fun and on top of everything. Highly recommend stopping here if you're ever in the neighborhood. read more

Ok I was thinking this would be a great country style resturant man was i wrong !!! I hate to give shitty reviews but it literally gave me the shittys !! On another note the bathroom was disgusting in men's room literally some customers left there breakfast all over the toilet not to mention how bad the condition of the bathroom was have some pride one more thing waitress gave a 10 dollar discount could not even take off the whole meal of the freezer burnt steak !! read more

If you are on a road trip, this is the kind of restaurant that you take your family. Pot roast sandwich was good. Onion rings were on point. The southwest salad and pancakes were good but not better than other places. Ambiance was fitting of a route 66 joint...lots of license plates and curios. Good not great but worth at least a visit. read more

Probably the next restaurant in needles. If your charge your Tesla and in look of a meal of snack I highly recommend this place. Very reasonably priced as well. Service is great and the ambiance is that of an old country restaurant. Clean and tighty. read more

Very kitschy , unique American style restaurant stop. Lots of Western themed trinkets and decor all around. It was pretty busy for lunch time on Labor Day Monday, so it took some time for our food. No biggie. Waitress was super sweet and nice too. We got the: 1) Deluxe Sampler: -It costs an extra $4 to get 2 mozzarella sticks and 2 jalapeno poppers. -It normally comes with 2 potato skins, 2 chicken tenders, and 3 onion rings. -A huge amount of fries, if I knew it came with so much fries, I wouldn't have gotten this with one of the entrees. -Nothing too special or to write home about this. -I'd honestly skip this dish. 2) Signature Pot Roast Skillet: -The MVP of our order. -Pot roast was tender and moist. Helped by the fact that it was drenched in gravy. -Mushrooms were just the right texture and you can never go wrong with mashed potatoes. 3) Chicken Fried Steak: -Even with the gravy, the steak was quite dry and the beef was chewy on the inside. I took a couple bites and tapped out. Recooked this at home later and it was much better and less salty. -If I was actually starving I'd be disappointed, but I spent most of the weekend in an overstuffed malaise, so I just took 85% of this dish to go. This totaled to almost $60, not worth it in my opinion. Bathrooms were clean and decent but the sinks are out in front of both of them and separate. If you're craving sit down dining on the road back home it's an okay stop, other than that, I'd just go to a fast food rest stop. read more

please, if you get something here i recommend the steak and eggs. I have bought their sirloin at least 5 times and it has been consistent and delicious. The servers are helpful and easy going, but TRY THAT SIRLOIN. read more

I don't know where these 5 stars review came from but this place was horrible. Pancakes seemed like they came from the freezer section at the grocery store. Country potatoes tasted funny. I don't know if they were frozen or reheated but they tasted weird and were nasty. Burrito = gross read more

Wagon Wheel Restaurant - Looks delicious but it wasn't, keep driving to get good tasting food. - American Near Me - Needles, California

Service was pleasant. Food was average. Nothing special. Pancakes flat, not fluffy. Could use a deep clean.

The food at this establishment is good. The decor of the restaurant fits its location perfectly. Busy place with excellent service. The waitress was quick and good. I hate to bash a Route 66 institution, but the decor is better than the food. This is the kind of place that your doctor warns you about. Heavy gravy on overcooked meat and potatoes, lots of fats, sugars, extra butter, sour cream, fried foods.... I guess I ordered wrong both times I went, but it seems like most items should come with a heart warning. The service is nice and professional. I know it's a historic style restaurant, but the menu and chef could try to add a few more modern meals. read more

Spot on!!! Extraordinary service, good food! I really enjoyed my salad Fun atmosphere and decor. For sure stopping here on my travels

I've driven by this place several times on my way to and from either Laughlin or Lake Havasu. I only recently stopped here because they put in a new row of Tesla Supercharger stalls on the eastern end of the restaurant. Besides just stopping in to use their restroom, I got a table to get some breakfast while I waited for the car to finish charging. After looking over their menu, I ordered their steak and eggs with grits, white toast, and coffee. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was decent and the service was great! You can conveniently pay for your food at your table by scanning the QR code on the check. read more

Hearty food; quick, friendly and efficient service. This was a welcome start to a long day on the road. Both our dishes were a little on the bland side but we cleaned our plates. The cheese was shredded on top of the huevos rancheros and the beans weren't warm enough to melt it. The omelet, home fries and biscuit were all a bit dry. Again, we cleaned our plates and were ready for the day. We would definitely stop here coming through again. read more

Looking for a different spot to have breakfast, I checked Needles, California, because I was headed for needles Mountain Road. I bookmarked Wagon Wheel. I had seen it last year when I had breakfast at a different restaurant. This restaurant has a long history and is on Historic Route 66 which means more to people who are older. The place is decorated with a lot of Western type memorabilia. There is a gift shop when you enter, and on either side of the entrance are decorations and indormartion. One side has license plates from a multitude of states. On the other side, there's a white board with a list of cities and distance from Needles to the cities. I was seated at a table immediately and brought a pot of coffee and a cup. A good way to start breakfast. After looking over the menu, I had to try the "Big Mess" omelette. The omelette is called that because it's loaded with bacon, sausage, ham, cheddar cheese, onions, bell peppers, and topped with chili. Served with a choice of toast and potato, the breakfast comes out to be a hefty meal. Topped with some fresh avocado, the omelette was very good. I didn't ask for hot suace as I just wanted to enjoy it as is. Service was very good with several check backs to see if all was well and if I needed more coffee. This was a good place to stop for breakfast. Needles is less than 20 miles from Laughlin so it makes a good stop if you're on your way to Lake Havasu City or other places in this area of California. I'd stop again. It has a charm and very good food! read more

Wagon Wheel restaurant. An unassuming place if you don't know what a hidden gem that it is! This is the real deal. When it's comfort food that you're looking for, look no further. The moment you walk in you know you're in a special place. The locals may already know about it but if you're just passing through you really don't know where to get a good meal. Look no further. This is it! Homemade is the word that comes to mind when describing this place. I ordered the steak. It was hand cut and cooked to perfection. They have homemade mashed potatoes but I went for the baked. Delicious. Sandra waited on my and she was a pleasure. Service with a smile. Thank you. read more
