The food is pretty good, but we spent over 45 minutes waiting for our food and when it came, the order was wrong - and we didn't have silverware... the manager came out early to ask how things were (pre-food and pre-wait) and we didn't see her again. The coffee is really weak. Disappointed but not surprised... We sat outside and it was nice. Oh, then the waitress said they had comped my meal but all they'd done was take off the wrong order. Still left a decent tip, but won't go back there again. $82 with tip for 3 people. read more

Enjoyed a great meal at The Range Cafe. It happened to be in walking distance from our hotel so we gave it a try. The staff was cheerful and welcoming. The decor is cool- with the domed oval neon ceilings and colorful art. We had great , quick, cheerful service from our waitress Brittany. The bartender was able to take a special request for a skinny margarita, and it was refreshing and tart. I had the range chicken plate and it was fresh, spicy and delicious. My husband also loved his blue corn chili relleno plate. Great time all around. Thanks and God bless! read more

We came in for a late brunch and we were seated right away. The bartender was our waitress, she was super friendly and attentive. Our food came out right away after we ordered. Food was warm and tasty, I'm usually a hashbrown girl but the potatoes were delicious. Their breakfast menu isn't that big but will definitely be coming back to try some of their other dishes. read more

Service couldn't have been lovelier, the food was excellent, loved the "smaller appetites" menu which was the perfect size portion. Loved that the manager came around to visit. Overall, it felt like this establishment's goal was to excel in every way. I wouldn't have minded if the prices were a little lower, but that's everywhere lately. read more

Just flew in to drop our son off at the University of New Mexico. This was walking distance from out hotel. Had dinner with the family last night 8-18. The green chicken Chile stew is amazing. We came closer to closing time. There was others in the restaurant as well. We were not the only ones. While we were eating they started turning off the lights. One half the restaurant was completely dark so we didn't go to the bathroom after eating. Some of the lights in our section was also turned off. No one said anything to any of the tables like we are closing please finish. It was just turning off lights like, let's go we wanna leave. So we wrapped it up pretty quickly. The other strange part was our waitress came up and said will you be paying cash or credit? We said cash. She said that will be $54.94My husband set down $60 on the table and she said do you want your change? My husband said, why don't you bring the change and then I will take care of the tip. She took the money and walked away. She then walks back and sets $5 on the table and then walks away. The change should of been $5.06. It was strange that she never gave us a bill or showed us a bill and didn't give us the correct change. I know it's only 6 cents, but we found it odd not to bring back the correct amount of change. We asked the bartender that was next to us if we can see our bill. She was very nice and got the bill for us from our waitress. We left $8 for a tip and left. Just a strange exchange I never experienced before. read more

Great service, great food! Great selection of New Mexican good along with traditional diner food.

Good food, great service , anf pleasant atmosphere. Blah. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah

We had to drop something off downtown and we were heading to breakfast afterwards. We saw a sign for the Range Cafe where the old Standard diner used to be located and decided to stop in there. It has been years since we have eaten at a Range Cafe. I love the inside and outside patio of this location; it has such a great vibe. I had the huevos rancheros with green chili which were excellent! The green chili was great and it was served with beans and potatoes which were also delicious. Hubby had the kitchen sink omelette which was light, fluffy and delicious. It was also served with potatoes, fresh fruit and choice of toast. I think it would be a great place to go for dinner and sit outside with a drink in the evening. I noticed they had local microbrews on tap. COVID practices were followed. Would definitely recommend checking it out! read more

It was great food and service! Although the grits and carne were not super great. Not a a lot of flavor. I will say though the mimosas my husband and I had were amazing and gave us such a good buzz we didn't give AF about how the food tasted lol. Also get the banana pudding. That shit is bomb af when you have a good buzz from the mimosa! Thank you the range cafe at downtown read more

Found this gem driving by looking for breakfast places that were open at 7am in this town... I was on the way somewhere else downtown when I saw it open and circled back.. They do breakfast, as well as lunch and dinner, and have a decent menu.. I got their hand breaded chicken fried steak - very tender, with eggs and a biscuit with gravy., I did the sausage gravy instead of their green chile gravy, and with a Bloody Mary... I dont believe I've ever had a CFS that was as tender as what I've had. Liked it so much I came back the next day after working night shift... Had the Everything Omelett, a blueberry pancake and a screwdriver. Food is on point. Wait staff varies from decent to energetic/excellent. They open at 7am.. not 10 as the yelp entry indicates. Maybe they can fix that... I have a new fav breakfast spot here in ABQ now. read more

As always it's full and busy on a Sunday. As busy as they were the servers were very attentive, topping off my water and asking how my food was mid chew. Busy or not, the place is always friendly the art, tchotchkes and the conversations around me always make this a welcoming place. Odd to say but it was as relaxing. The food is always good, the drinks are always cold and bubbly. read more

The Range Cafe - A few minutes ago, it was egg's Benedict!! These are always so too. Also, a cranberry mimosa - New Mexican Cuisine Near Me - Albuquerque, New Mexico

I was back in town for business and disappointed that the Standard Diner was no longer there, but the DDD bacon wrapped meatloaf is still on the menu and they still have a full display case of desserts . I had the green chili margarita and it was excellent. Smooth and a touch spicy. The shredded beef in their chimichanga was super moist and it was a large portion so I'm taking half back to my hotel for lunch tomorrow. The weather was perfect for dinner on the patio. Great experience all around. read more

Delicious food. Good service and a delightful atmosphere. Definitely a nice place in Albuquerque

We had just arrived in Albuquerque, and I was looking for a place to have some great local food and sit outdoors as well. The range café completely fit the bill. We sat outside on a lovely evening, and our server was super. He recommended an Alien amber (brewed locally) to my dad who felt it was one of the best ambers he's ever had. My dad had the spinach enchiladas, and I had shrimp tacos - both excellent! Next time we are in Albuquerque, we will definitely be back! read more

This is some of the nicest service I've ever experienced. I didn't love my michelada so they remade it without me asking and it was much better. The tequila shrimp tacos are A+++++++. Generous enough to share and flavors are spot on. Service was quick and atmosphere is super relaxed. Totally failed to take photos unfortunately. Highly recommend. read more

Hoo boy, the service was soooo slow and inattentive. Didn't get silverware when our food came, asked for it, and it never arrived, so I went and grabbed some from the condiment station myself. Took a full half hour to pay our check. It's odd...they didn't appear to be understaffed, but all the staff were living on another planet today. Food has also gone downhill some. My eggs Benedict were over cooked and the potatoes were rubbery and bland. read more

Came in with a large party of adults and teenagers. The Range accommodated us with no problem. Waitstaff was attentive and courteous. Food was good and tasty. Salads were good and fresh. Burgers were great. Chicken tacos wonderful. The beef and shrimp tacos were spicy. Nice outdoor patio, too. Would come back for more. read more

Walked in for breakfast today- was in at opening, so gave bartender some time to finish set up. After 15 minutes, no ask for water or order. Was ignored. Won't be back- must have high turnover. Had great service a couple weeks ago, but most of those faces not here today. Quality, price, service... say you can't have all- none today food good, none today. Work nights-was looking forward to breakfast, but will try elsewhere. Usual deco for a bar/ restaurant, but the service(lack of)ruined the ambiance. read more

Can't go back. This place never can get the service and timing right . On several occasions our table gets served well after other tables. This is understandable if you order something special. But we don't. And we have kids so waiting for 1 hour to get our food is ridiculous. The only redeeming part of the experience today was the beautiful art work on the walls and the cute couple next to us. They arrived 20 minutes after us, got their food, ate, and paid before our party of 4 could get our check. The food is just so so. read more

Ordered chicken fried steak. Overcooked to the point it was crunchy, dry and hard. The cook knew he screwed up the meal because it drowned it in gravy to hide it. Vegetables must have been sitting in water for hours because they were mush. Very disappointed. First time at this location. Doesn't stand up to quality at the other location. Will go there again but not to this one. read more

This place was wonderful. We were fresh off a bunch of travel and about to take the train up to Santa Fe when we found this gem near the train station. We strolled in and got a table right away and a server came right over. We ordered some classics like mac and cheese and eggs and bacon, but one of the things we ordered was blue corn pancakes. They were really amazing. One of us was raving about it for the rest of the weekend! read more

The only topping offered on the tacos is triple hot. When we informed the waitress we could not eat very hot food she offered to put it on the side instead of offering a substitute so we had only meat on the tacos. There was a long black hair in one of them. The cobb salad was good and fresh, except for the chicken which was overcooked. The waitress never came back to refill the tea. read more

First visit impression was not impressed. I ordered the chicken chimichanga with green chile. No seasoning on chicken and the green chile had barely any heat. The rice side was bland and not worth wasting your time to eat. I'll say their Mexican offerings are dumbed down for the masses. I'll try it again for breakfast as that may be more successful. read more
