Dunno if they picked this location to be a good stop between Santa Fe and Albuquerque but it was. Just a couple of blocks off the freeway and lots of parking. The restaurant and bar areas are good size and the building also has a retail store where you can buy their in house goods. Ordered our food online while stuck in traffic on the freeway and it was ready for us when we got there. We had enough time to eat so they let us sit at the soda fountain counter to gobble up our late lunch. Had the single chile relleno with rice and beans. My friend had the calabasita tacos with added beans and rice. They had forgotten to pack us the rice and beans so good thing we ate there. They comped the iced tea for that mix up. Their chile and salsa were the mildest I had all trip. The cornmeal coating on the relleno was light, not greasy, and had a good crunch. Seemed like the kind of place a group could eat at and everybody could find something they'd enjoy. read more

Cool fun vibe, very family friendly. Good food!! I had the shrimp tacos and they were delicious. My kid ate her Mac n cheese and the Mac n cheese of the other kid who didn't finish. Try the green chili strips. They are delicious. Desserts were good, but the chocolate cake was dry. Cucumber martini was the best drink I've had in NM. Great spot for fun. read more

Caught a late breakfast on the way to Taos. This place is like a gift shop combined with a restaurant. Thankfully there was plenty of seating and there was no wait. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros Christmas style (red and green sauce) looking forward to some NM chili love on one of my favorite breakfasts! The sauces were both definitely the highlight. However they couldn't elevate the rest. Pintos by themselves were great, the potatoes were good but nothing special. The red and green sauce were absolutely the best part. Food aside, the service was very friendly and if this review was just about that, it would be a five star! read more

What a fabulous place! I'm out in NM for a family trip and we came across this after a long day trip to Chaco Canyon and just needed something to finally eat after having some snacks throughout the day. I got their Deviled Egg Cobb salad subbed with ranch dressing and no blue cheese. The portion was quite big and the ingredients tasted really fresh - I was quite full by the end. My mom and brother both had their shredded chicken tacos which they both devoured and loved and our friend had a hot Turkey plate that she also really liked. I'm hoping we can try to stop by once more before we head back home but definitely a great place to check out! read more

I loved their chimichangas with beef, it has the best flavor until tonight. We have been customers since they appeared on Wyoming which was once a dance studio. Tonight I ordered my usual beef chimichanga with green chili, without rice or beans, only calabacitas for the sides. They put rice and beans inside the chimichanga. It was awful. No delicious flavor of the roast beef, the chili was tasteless no heat whatsoever. The guacamole was old. The staff said all burritos have everything on the inside now, no sides. I asked for "no" rice or beans and they just hid them inside. It was no good. Won't be back unless they change the policy that she said started last Tuesday. They had the best chimichanga in town but not anymore. So sad. Really poor way to try and skimp on the beef they once served. It just wasn't the same. Yuck! read more

When we are "back home" in New Mexico we always stop by one of our favorite New Mexico spots. We had breakfast and as always split the red/green chilis (they call it Christmas). The pancakes are big, we opted for just one each. Our waitress was so incredibly sweet. One of our friends was getting a little "antsy" and asked when the food would be ready and even though she has no control of the number of orders or the kitchen she emerged with all of our plates in minutes. Love the art they have on the wall. Always of things New Mexico and they are usually for sale. Don't forget the little gift shop just next door while waiting. Waiting can be a thing so early bird gets the worm. read more

Stopped here early one morning leaving Albuquerque. Best decision ever! Your only issue is what to order. Everything looks fantastic. From the pastries and pies at the front of the restaurant to the menu items. I didn't have enough appetite! We settled on eggs, bacon, hash brown and toast breakfast which was great. Everything coming by our table looked delicious. The other great thing about this restaurant is the NA art which was on the walls and tables. Beautiful work everywhere. Order and then get up and walk around to see the art. The restaurant is large so there is plenty to see. read more

Dear Rangers, After a questionable 1st visit awhile back...time for a 2nd Chance for Love...Coming back as we are, Nobody said it was easy, Oh, it's such a shame for us to part...I'm going back to the start...we secured the Black Bleu Fried Burger and Patty Melts...The Black you ask?...from the butteriness of the brioche bun to the thick cut smoked sweet bacon..tied nicely with bleu cheese and caramelised onions..brought a lasting smile...The Patty Melts?..though it lost the visual pizzazz...the mushrooms, swiss cheese and caramelised onions saved our bites..:) Range, but tell me you love me, come back and haunt me..Oh and I rush to the start..Running in circles, chasing my tail....When it comes to supporting our local restaurants..."We can't run out of second chances...:) Best, Avram Doogoodrr Jr. read more

Good food and service. We had the 3 tacos. No sides unless you pay more and that includes chips and salsa. Must be a New Mexico thing as it's been he only place in country we have bee that doesn't put them on the table when you come in. The tacos were more than I could eat. Great flavor. read more

As someone visiting New Mexico for the first time, our friends we were staying with in Placitas took us here. It felt like walking into "Jack Rabbit Slims" from the movie Pulp Fiction! What a fun vibe! Amazing wait staff, helpful suggestions on food, drinks, and of course dessert! I had a steak that was cooked to perfection. Great southwestern flavors. Local beer. A chocolate eclair so big I had to split it with my buddy (another big guy!) and there was some great local Jazz playing! Don't waste any time or money on crappy food at El Pinto! Make the trip to the Range and have twice the service, three times the yum, at less than half the price. read more

Food was great, decor was super fun! Was a great find on a trip. Nice waitress. And I need more words to finish this review.

We have been customers for over 15 years and have always enjoyed the atmosphere and consistently great food. However that last couple of visits the prices have been a little shocking. Today was most likely our last $70 with a tip for two breakfast plates with coffee. Not paying $70 for breaskfast at a diner. I also dont need to know your politics while I foot the bill. Not cool. Wont be back. read more

Lots of great choices. So hard to choose. Their bakery items look fantastic. I loved the art on the walls available for purchase. The special of the morning was brisket Benedict and it was so flavorful and delicious. They make a great chai tea too! read more

This is a staple in Albuquerque area. Range cafe has a great atmosphere and friendly staff. I ordered the pork pulled sandwich and it was not very flavorful with red chili chips and it was ok. It could have been juicier and had to ask for BBQ sauce to put on it and the chips were not crispy but soft like they were not fresh. My son ordered the Blue corn enchiladas with carne adovada and was very good with the right seasoning. Overall great atmosphere and love the gift shop. read more

My friend and I visited this restaurant yesterday for lunch. I felt like the price may have been a bit higher for the dishes but my deviled egg Cobb was very delicious. We went on a Saturday morning at 0945. We sat at the bar to avoid a 20-minute wait for a table. We ordered at 0950 and our food took 50-minutes to arrive at 1040. Very disappointed as I ordered the Basic Breakfast with eggs and bacon while my wife ordered the oatmeal with the ice cream scoop. The oatmeal was hard crusted on the top as it had sat for a long time before being served. My wife ate the ice cream, but not the oatmeal. My eggs and bacon were tasty, but not special. Also, the coffee at the bar was served lukewarm out of a plastic tea container. Not sure why there was not a thermal coffee container. read more

We were visiting Albuquerque for my Nieces wedding and decided to try The Range Cafe for breakfast. Im glad we did! We were seated right away and the artsy decor in this place is pretty cool! My partner and I have both been the range several times at multiple locations and always been satisfied. I had been the Bernalillo one before, tho my partner hadn't, and in the past it was an excellent experience. This time, the service was great, and the venue is still a unique and fun environment, the food was... edible. The lack of seasoning and flavor was unconscionable. I had one of the blandest burgers of my life, and my partner had fried breading with a flavorless meat textured filling (Chicken fried steak). Not an awful experience. Just very disappointing. read more

We were passing through the area on way to Durango and saw recommendations for the Range Cafe. We were not disappointed. Had the regular size Nachos and couldn't finish them. Plenty of food to eat. This place came highly recommended and it didn't disappoint! After trying a few places in NM, we were happy with the food. It was outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and big portions. Our waitress was very friendly and offered great recommendations on what we should try. We enjoyed their famous margaritas too! Delicious! The place itself is fun, full of character. Cute place, food was just ok, not bad but not great. Staff is super nice, prices were probably a couple of dollars too high.

One of the locals took me here for a breakfast meeting. I am glad he did. It was everything i love about breakfast. The place had character and a menu to match. I had the biscuits and gravy, which I love trying at all breakfast places. The range's offering was pretty good. The waitstaff were excellent, with multiple refills of coffee and water. Pretty reasonable deal. Definitely added to my trips to ABQ, on the way in or out! read more

Yummy food there and great dessert options for take out. We had banana pudding and a pecan roll to go. They were great even the next day. I'm giving it four stars instead of five because the waitress brought me the wrong thing. She "fixed" the bill by making sure that she charged me for the less expensive item (chicken ranch sandwich, which I ate) and removed the pulled pork sandwich (which I ordered but did not receive.) read more

Sad New Mexican here. stopped in the Range in Bernalillo today. Always a favorite, great for out of town guests. the food quality was poor. ordered the chile strips. There were three about the size of a finger, not much meat on the chile and fried to almost burned. Not worth $8.00. Green Chile chicken stew. a large bowl of undercooked huge chunks of carrot, zucchini, potatoes and celery. Large chunks of chicken. never saw a bit of green chile. Dry tortillas,no butter. We did mention the chile to our server ,who was very nice, and she mentioned that they changed suppliers. she did credit the chile off the bill. So disappointing. not sure if we will go back. Favorite stop on way home to Santa Fe. Are they under new owners? read more

The food here was awesome! We had such a great meal and our waiter Jaeden really helped us out since I had dietary restrictions. We got the three enchilada plate. So much flavor yum green chilei sauce. The little gift shop they have is also awesome with lots of goodies to take home with you. And the chocolate cake was a hit with my son. The green chile apple pie was very interesting and a bit spicy :-) so glad we stopped here for dinner, and the restaurant is pretty cool with all of the paintings by artists all over it and cool decorations and storefront. read more
