They waited on all three of the tables that came in after us. A couple of servers looked at us. I made eye contact wondering when they were going to come and serve us at our table. Boo Not one person came back to us. We patiently waited and wondered what the problem was. I was thinking maybe the server for that area was not there. But that day people at the very next table and took care of them. So we just got up and left. I will never go back again. The was just unreal. Especially making eye contact. And still nothing. Tasty food at good prices with a super waitress who worked a shift that was down 3 waitresses, but she worked hard enough that we didn't even notice having to wait for anything. We had the green chili cheeseburger sliders, and they were delicious! Fresh bun, warm, and a little larger than what we think of typical sliders. I got the avocado toast Benedict on sourdough with perfectly poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, grilled asparagus, tomato, feta (I think)....absolutely delicious and filling. The Range has a great variety on menu, and its food has been consistently good over the many years we've visited. Highly recommend! read more

I liked my food and so did my partner but nothing was amazing. Everything was a ok to meh. The staff was great and I thought were very friendly and nice. I found my sandwich a bit dry and I think had bits of egg shell or something crunchy a couple times on the French toast breading. The fruit cup had tiny pieces of pineapple I would have composted. My partner had the biscuits and gravy and they were also ok. The eggs were a touch undercooked for him with not all the white solid. 5th star for consistency! Still great! Have been there multiple times now, whenever I am in ABQ. Last time the waitress was super friendly AND efficient. Felt like sitting at an old time diner. Sat by the windows next to the bar, which is my new favorite spot to sit - kind of tucked away from main dining room, but you can see everyone come and go. Food is always generous portions, and very tasty. Great place right off the freeway near Old Town. read more

The pecan roll was delicious along with coffee. I ordered the carne breakfast which was mediocre at best. The carne adovada was not that great. Having said that the sweets are most likely their highlight. Plenty to choose from. They also have a late night happy hour which most places do not offer. Solid funky spot with interesting decor... be sure to order something with green chile and take in the unusual vibes. Be careful you may spot an alien in the bathroom. Upon entering the building, I was greeted immediately by the hostess across the room at the host counter. Very helpful and friendly. I let her know I was placing a to go order. I ordered the wagon trail, which comes with two eggs, two bacon front range, potatoes and pancakes. There are of course options too. Add toppings and what not. I ordered my eggs, scrambled well, the bacon extra crispy, and some strawberry topping for the pancakes. I waited nearly 35 minutes for mine to go order. In which the hostess did continually let me know, she was checking on my order. I asked for some utensils which she promptly put in my bag and I went out to my vehicle. I opened everything up which looked initially good. However, there was no butter syrup or strawberries. I did go back in and I was given those items by another hostess. The bacon looked nearly raw and almost un edible. Definitely not extra crispy. The sausage was extra greasy. I know some sausages are. The eggs appeared to be cooked as I requested but no salt or pepper on them. The potatoes by Farr were the biggest disappointment as they just seemed like they were cut up potatoes and baked. There was no flavor. No seasoning. Nothing. Just cut up potatoes. The pancakes I normally don't order at restaurants, but I thought I would give it a try as this place was recommended from a friend. The pancakes were definitely light and fluffy and smelled amazing. Their flavor was fairly decent. I feel for $25 which is what I paid for this meal there was definitely a decent amount of food, but the disappointment with everything else made it not worth the money. From the 25 min wait time, because they only had 2 servers to waiting 27 min just to get lukewarm coffee & a cappuccino to 48min to get our food. We weren't even offered water. I was extremely disappointed. We've been here on several occasions, you could say regulars but after yesterday's debacle we probably won't be. I was hoping the manager would come out and apologize but nope he/she stayed out of sight. The multitude of errors & the lack of a simple apology is ridiculous. It had me so upset that my husband & I actually left there not speaking to each other. While there are MANY other choices for anyone to go to, I would suggest taking your business elsewhere because it seems that management doesn't care & throwing a body of the floor does NOT reflect a good waitress. Thank you to the bus guy cuz he immediately went & retrieved us water which was needed after the food was difficult to swallow. I have eaten here about 8 times over the last few years and it never disappoints!! I have had everything from soups to pancakes and desserts. The blue corn blueberry pancake was the bomb today, as well as the vanilla coconut cream pie. I will be back!!! Wish we had this restaurant in my state. read more

I cannot be happier than the experience we had having our 20 person family reunion here. They did not require us a specific menu like so many restaurants want to do for a group, we were allowed anything on the menu AND we were allowed to do separate checks (also something most places said no to). The variety of the menu is awesome: tacos to burgers, New Mexican to soup. And the DESSERTS! All with a full bar (cocktails were fabulous). The star of the night was Spencer our waiter. He handled our 2 large tables flawlessly, and I cannot thank him enough. The entire staff was great, welcoming, and pleasant. I highly recommend this location for so many reasons. The carne adovada and green chile are flavorful but not spicy, so that may be a plus or a minus. The house-baked desserts are legit. I would have liked the Death by Lemon pie and key lime pie to be even more tart, but mad respect for the custard texture on the first and the crumb crust on the second. Frequent diner here, we are there a few times a month at least. We have grown to love the staff, they take care of us every time! Ask for Deja or Mimi, they have our drinks for us before we even order, now that's service! Some highlights on the menu would be the blue corn pancake with pine nuts, the range roundup, the green chile Mac n cheese, or the breakfast burrito. They made an old couple wait about 15 minutes and there are plenty of open tables. There is a bar area which could be good. I ordered soup of the day; chicken noodle, but came with no noodle. What? The guy went back to get me noodles. No sweet ice tea, just unsweetened. Fries are great and the ranch dressing. Wow. Wonder if they make the ranch? Chicken soup was bland, no real taste. The Range Cafe used to be my go-to place. No more. Wait staff is neglectful, food came out luke warm, prices have risen unreasonably, and the worse sin of all -- the food is simply not good. Initially I thought it was just an off day, but I've been to different Range locations recently and it's the same thing (though the Bernalillo restaurant is not as horrible). I can generally overlook the price gouging if the food is decent, but it no longer is, so I'm done with the Range. They'll not be getting any more of my money. read more

It pains me to write this because I was a regular. Just had the worst experience at this range. I called and placed a to go order at 10:26 am and they as told it would take 10-15 mins. I get to the range at 11 am. The hostess is incredibly rude and says it will be 5 more mins. Seemed odd but ok. I left there at 11:15, almost 50 mins since my order was placed. I was stranded here while on a road trip from Chicago to San Diego and walked here since it was close. My ID was thought to be fake (even though I was open carrying my law enforcement sidearm + badge) Manager was brought in to confirm it was real. Then as I pointed out my car being towed for repairs and me being stranded they tell me only 3 drinks is maximum at the location. Everything else is good. Ambience and the shrimp Mediterranean salad was tasty. Not law enforcement friendly or foreigner friendly although I still tipped 25% because despite the political opinion of the bartender it's the right thing to do and this is real justice. read more

In my 5 day stay in Albuquerque, I'm so glad I fit this restaurant in my schedule! This place is conveniently located right off highway near the exit and super easy to find for people from out of town like me. Inside is decorated cute and I instantly liked it. I tried range chicken which came with avocado, beans, chili and all kinds of good stuff and I loved it. My coworker got a salmon dish which was also great. Salmon was served on fried rice cake, which I had never seen before but this was a game changer. I can't wait to go back next year already! read more

This place is a great option for breakfast and brunch. It is a lot cheaper than other alternatives around the area and has a great New Mexican vibe to the place. The location on rio grande and I-40 is very convenient to get to when coming from out of town. I ordered the chicken green Chile egg chilada and was not disappointed. It was a really interesting and unique take on the classic chicken enchilada but with a breakfast twist that adds more protein. I had a hazelnut latte to drink. Went to the Range on Rio Grande today for the Taco Tuesdays. Disappointed all the way around. 1. Service: Was seated at the booths opposite the bar. The lady who was our server was also tending bar. She spent more time taking care of the bar customers than she did the table customers, even though it appeared there was another gentleman working the bar also. 2. Food: Took my wife because she really likes shredded beef tacos. Instead of shredded beef tacos we were served "Chunks of Beef Tacos.
