Smashed burger with fries. Great tasting. Service was great. Ambiance like other Range cafes

We came in to catch the seasonal (at least now, it used to be a staple), turkey dinner. Alas, they were out. I ordered a BYOB hamburger, husband got the turkey club. Both were good. Service was very good. We love this Range Cafe the most. The atmosphere inside is more open and we think the best decorated. We've had many things here, tacos, green chile stew (a FAV), burgers, enchiladas, salads, just about everything ! Our absolute favorites lie in the bakery and our standout favorite is the vanilla coconut cream pie! Try it at least once !

This restaurant is an absolute joke. The manager is a joke after an hour and a half everybody that even came in after us got fed we waited for close to two hours to sit down never got drink refills never even got our food. Don't waste your time unless you wanna spend half a day trying to get food Management needs replacement kitchen needs help and I can't tell you how the food is cause we never got it. The host was unfriendly from the start, waitress never came back after we ordered and the manager was complacent. The restaurant was half empty and the service was non existent. Talking to the manager she could care less. Owners should take not that this team has no care in the world about customer service, timeliness or quality. Because you have a good reputation doesn't mean you get to ignore customers and expect support. What a HUGE disappointment!!!

It's supposed to be chicken stew.

You can improve. Been here before. Never again. Green chile stew. You mean vegetable stew. Blue corn pancakes. Where is the blue corn? Our waitress has filled our coffee once had to ask for more. Waited for her to return with raw sugar coffee got cold. Dulce needs a little attention on customer service.

Tasty food at good prices with a super waitress who worked a shift that was down 3 waitresses, but she worked hard enough that we didn't even notice having to wait for anything. We had the green chili cheeseburger sliders, and they were delicious! Fresh bun, warm, and a little larger than what we think of typical sliders. I got the avocado toast Benedict on sourdough with perfectly poached eggs, Hollandaise sauce, grilled asparagus, tomato, feta (I think)....absolutely delicious and filling. The Range has a great variety on menu, and its food has been consistently good over the many years we've visited. Highly recommend!

I liked my food and so did my partner but nothing was amazing. Everything was a ok to meh. The staff was great and I thought were very friendly and nice. I found my sandwich a bit dry and I think had bits of egg shell or something crunchy a couple times on the French toast breading. The fruit cup had tiny pieces of pineapple I would have composted. My partner had the biscuits and gravy and they were also ok. The eggs were a touch undercooked for him with not all the white solid. Again the staff were fantastic, food was ok and for the price underwhelming. I would go back if it was the most convenient location.

The Range Cafe has plenty of seating o accommodate small or large groups of people. They have an amazing selection of homemade pastries. Their serving sizes are generous and they also serve alcohol for those that are wanting mimosas with breakfast. They also have happy hour specials during the week.

The pecan roll was delicious along with coffee. I ordered the carne breakfast which was mediocre at best. The carne adovada was not that great. Having said that the sweets are most likely their highlight. Plenty to choose from. They also have a late night happy hour which most places do not offer. I would come back because they have a large menu and I think its worth another shot.

For bring in town for 24 hours this is a place you have to put on your list to experience. It is a local gem and has so much of the NM cultural experience within it. Super fun and worth the visit!

Solid funky spot with interesting decor... be sure to order something with green chile and take in the unusual vibes. Be careful you may spot an alien in the bathroom. I got the carrot cake + banana cake and both were pretty solid. The iced tea was refreshing. Service was friendly and prices were reasonable. Interested to try a different cake next time or stop by for a complete meal.

Upon entering the building, I was greeted immediately by the hostess across the room at the host counter. Very helpful and friendly. I let her know I was placing a to go order. I ordered the wagon trail, which comes with two eggs, two bacon front range, potatoes and pancakes. There are of course options too. Add toppings and what not. I ordered my eggs, scrambled well, the bacon extra crispy, and some strawberry topping for the pancakes. I waited nearly 35 minutes for mine to go order. In which the hostess did continually let me know, she was checking on my order. I asked for some utensils which she promptly put in my bag and I went out to my vehicle. I opened everything up which looked initially good. However, there was no butter syrup or strawberries. I did go back in and I was given those items by another hostess. The bacon looked nearly raw and almost un edible. Definitely not extra crispy. The sausage was extra greasy. I know some sausages are. The eggs appeared to be cooked as I requested but no salt or pepper on them. The potatoes by Farr were the biggest disappointment as they just seemed like they were cut up potatoes and baked. There was no flavor. No seasoning. Nothing. Just cut up potatoes. The pancakes I normally don't order at restaurants, but I thought I would give it a try as this place was recommended from a friend. The pancakes were definitely light and fluffy and smelled amazing. Their flavor was fairly decent. I feel for $25 which is what I paid for this meal there was definitely a decent amount of food, but the disappointment with everything else made it not worth the money. The good news is my dog did not discriminate on this meal at all, and she promptly finished everything for me.

    Blue corn pancakes

I have eaten here about 8 times over the last few years and it never disappoints!! I have had everything from soups to pancakes and desserts. The blue corn blueberry pancake was the bomb today, as well as the vanilla coconut cream pie. I will be back!!! Wish we had this restaurant in my state.

Here's a cleaned-up version that keeps your energy and voice:…read more Okay, so for the 66 Diner: we stopped here during our Route 66 road trip, which most of you know I've been taking very seriously. I've been hitting all the spots I can and being very strategic about the food stops. This place is nostalgic, historic, and right along the way in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gives you all the old-school diner vibes immediately. I will say, all the young ladies working there were extremely nice, and the service was great. It definitely passes the vibes test. The burger tasted like that classic all-American diner burger. Not too greasy, but not trying to be some "beyond meat" situation either. Just good stuff. The fries were great, and very, very, very importantly: it passes the ranch test. We had a side salad with ranch, and the ranch tasted good on the salad and even better with the fries dipped in it. We also had the 66 Burger, which comes with green chiles. I had never had that on a burger before, but it was a really good twist and a nice local touch. Green chiles seem to be a big thing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so it was cool to try that there. The onion rings were great too. If I hadn't been so full, and if it wasn't noon with eight more hours of driving ahead of us, I definitely would've gotten a shake too. All in all, absolutely great classic Route 66 vibes. It has all the nostalgia, great service, and great food. 10/10 recommend. Everyone should go.

Super friendly staff especially our server, Brady. It was the perfect ending to a day of driving. I ordered the Chicken Ranchero and a Chocolate Covered Strawberry shake. Both were delicious and enough food for two people. One of the best shakes I've ever had! Came to the table all dressed up in a tall soda glass with enough extra served up in the stainless steel shake mixing cup it was made in. This place is a must stop while out on your Route 66 travels.

Directly across the street from University of New Mexico's main entrance, this place is packed when school is in session. This place is huge, but not at first glance. Walk into the retro-looking, Western themed dining room, and you'll see a huge menu board above the order counter. There is are several freestyle soda machines in the middle of the room. There are little digital screens in the corner where you watch for your order number and a counter in the corner where you go pick up your food. It's not until you go into the next room that you discover there is another "next room," and then another. There is a lot of art on the walls, including several John Wayne pictures. The girl at the counter who took our order was an absolute ray of sunshine--so friendly and sweet. We ordered the green chili cheeseburger with onion rings and the daily special which is the "green pile-up" (beans, hash browns, scrambled egg, and green chili beef). The good came our talented quickly, and was quite yummy. Frontier is an Albuquerque classic. If it old? Yes, but it has a huge faithful following, not including the things of UNM students that pack this giant diner during the school year. It may not be a "must try" for some, but if you want Albuquerque nostalgia, this is your place. Btw--it's pretty darn cheap,!

The area looks old and poor, but near the restaurant, we didn't see anything sketchy. When we were leaving, we did see some homeless people at the main intersection, but we didn't see anything we'd describe as sketchy. We did notice there is a mobile home park behind the restaurant, but there is a wall between the mobile home park and the restaurant parking lot. Even if there were police surrounding the mobile home park, we'd still venture inside to eat. The food is that good. We shared the cowboy breakfast burrito and the Santa Fe pancakes. Both were filling and ridiculously good. The Santa Fe pancakes made with blue corn, roasted piñons, green chili, and cheddar jack cheese were different than anything else we've ever had. I'll admit I didn't love my first bite or two, but the more I ate, the more I wanted. The pancakes are dry, but if you drizzle some syrup, it's the perfect match. The accompanying eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly. The cowboy breakfast burrito is massive, filling, and worth every calorie. Even though we were stuffed, we had to get the peach with green chile turnover. We asked if the turnover is served warm and our waitress replied that she could warm it up for is. I'm not sure that it is normally served warm, but I highly recommend it. The turnover flaky, the glaze was silky once warmed up and the peach with green chile was unique and delicious. Five star service and food. I highly recommend Vick's Vittles and hope that I'm in the area again so I can try more of this delicious food.
