Here's a cleaned-up version that keeps your energy and voice: Okay, so for the 66 Diner: we stopped here during our Route 66 road trip, which most of you know I've been taking very seriously. I've been hitting all the spots I can and being very strategic about the food stops. This place is nostalgic, historic, and right along the way in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It gives you all the old-school diner vibes immediately. I will say, all the young ladies working there were extremely nice, and the service was great. It definitely passes the vibes test. The burger tasted like that classic all-American diner burger. Not too greasy, but not trying to be some "beyond meat" situation either. Just good stuff. The fries were great, and very, very, very importantly: it passes the ranch test. We had a side salad with ranch, and the ranch tasted good on the salad and even better with the fries dipped in it. We also had the 66 Burger, which comes with green chiles. I had never had that on a burger before, but it was a really good twist and a nice local touch. Green chiles seem to be a big thing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, so it was cool to try that there. The onion rings were great too. If I hadn't been so full, and if it wasn't noon with eight more hours of driving ahead of us, I definitely would've gotten a shake too. All in all, absolutely great classic Route 66 vibes. By far the best stop while in Albuquerque on our Route 66 adventure. Walking through the front door transported us back to the Golden Age of Diners and the Mother Road. Super friendly staff especially our server, Brady. It was the perfect ending to a day of driving. I ordered the Chicken Ranchero and a Chocolate Covered Strawberry shake. Both were delicious and enough food for two people. One of the best shakes I've ever had! Came to the table all dressed up in a tall soda glass with enough extra served up in the stainless steel shake mixing cup it was made in. Really solid staple in iconic building. Really delicious food here but more of classic diner stables with New Mexico twist. Decor is amazing with pez and signs (defs a good stop for tourists). Staff was super kind and food came fast. Small parking lot (as expected) as we missed part of the lot is quick right up the hill. Overall enjoyed the turkey melt with green chiles (ok) and country fried steak (really good). Large portions and lots of history- recommend. read more

We stopped here more for the experience and didn't expect much from the food. We ordered a milkshake and a salad--both were decent. The milkshake portion was huge--they served extra on the side almost equal to what was in the glass, which was a nice touch. My first time here was a few years ago: I had done a photoshoot here and got the Elvis milkshake afterwards as a treat. Great vibes and cool decor- makes me feel like I was born in the wrong decade. This was a nice experience. The restaurant was busy, even after normal lunch hours, so it took a little time but we were in no rush. The server was attentive. And the milkshake was quite good. I would have also gotten some carrot cake, but perhaps my next visit. read more

Service was quick and efficient. Ty w decor of the whole place is super fun. The night we went, their were may prom kids. Seems like a fun and affordable place to go for a start to a prom night. Love the pez dispensers all over the high shelving. I felt like a burger and this seemed like a good place for it. I got the green chili burger with bacon and it was delicious. It was a bit pink- more than I like but I ate it and it was yummy. No ketchup needed. Very much New Mexico and full of flavor. A super fun and classic retro dining experience! Along classic Route 66 you have to try this place! It's extremely reasonably priced even if you get extras and a milkshake. Topped by while visiting Albuquerque. I loved the theming -- they really nailed the look and feel of a 50's diner. There was plenty of parking and no wait, so we were seated pretty quickly. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with a side of chili fries and it was really good. I loved how crispy the chicken was, and it wasn't dry either which was nice. We were looking for a lunch spot and came across 66 Diner on Yelp. I love diners and this spot did not disappoint. We were quickly seated and they had excellent service. They constantly checked up on us and got everything out pretty quickly. I ordered the green chile bacon Mac & cheese. It was a pretty big portion for the price & such a solid Mac & cheese. They didn't skimp on the bacon or green chile. The strawberry milkshakes were made to perfection and I love that you get to keep the excess. Haven't been here in years, so we took the whole fam a couple weeks ago. The atmosphere gets a 4, simply because it's fun and nostalgic and exactly what you'd expect from a 50s themed diner. The food is max 3 stars, probably 2.5 honestly. The chile (both red and green) had a weird western flavor instead of what we expect in NM, also pretty bland. The burgers were just okay. That seemed to be the party consensus--"it was okay." The shakes were great. Lots of super fun flavor options. The pink Cadillac was awesome. Service was good too. I personally love their burgers and always add a side of gravy for the fries, but the food is exactly what you would expect to find at a classic diner. They've got a decent variety of diner foods and lots of treats, including milkshakes and pies. On my most recent visit, I tried the teeny weeny sundae which was so cute and literally just a scoop of ice cream in a sauce cup with fudge and toppings. The 66 Diner on Central near UNM is a fun burger joint. 50's inspired. Full of Elvis memoribilia and and a selection of Pez dispensers plus Betty Boop. Pastel colors and checkered tiles fill the rooms. Service is consistant. Drinks were refilled as needed. The shakes are huge and good. They pour them at the table. The hamburgers are mixed bag. Some were great and some tasted just ok. The Fries were not the best. Never the less it is an event place. Fun to look at and enjoy with your friends and family. The kids with us thought it was the best. Parking is right outside and the area seems very safe. Try this place. Look for the sign wall outside. It's a piece of pop art! read more

I wanted to like it, I really did. (the "WTF?!" is at the end) Tuesday, early evening. Busy but not packed. We had friends in from out of town. 4 adults, one child. The menu was disappointingly minimal. (FYI for anyone who's a vegetarian: don't bother. I know, I know--"vegetarian" and "diner" don't usually appear in the same sentence) The food took seemingly forever to arrive. (I'm not one to complain, trust, and have a good reserve of patience) We ordered desert. (mine was a piece of apple pie) By this time, people had left and the room was easily manageable for the waiter. We waited and waited ... and... waited. I finally had to flag down the waiter tell him we'll take the desert to go. It was fairly late by the time we got home so I saved the pie slice for the next day. This diner was once a gas station. So although not an original Route 66 diner, they have done a wonderful job creating a welcoming, diner/malt shop vibe. Located on a busy city street it's easy to fly by without noticing. We turned on to the side street and into their parking lot. Parking is on three sides of the building from what I saw. We were greeted upon entering and given a choice of seating options. The front has booth and counter seating. More booths and many tables are available in other dining areas. A small room at the back, which was the original automotive bay entrance when this was a garage, would make a good space for a small group (a dozen or so). Restrooms are near the entrance. Our waitress was very good, friendly, asked all the right questions, kept my iced tea and our waters full. We both had burgers and they were good. Fresh lettuce, good amount of toppings. My dining companion had a specialty burger and that big bun helped hold all the toppings in. For my mushroom swiss, the bun to burger ratio seems off. The burgers come with lettuce, tomato, pickles and mustard. You can request some or all of those be removed. The pickles are crisp and have a strong flavor. You have 'sides' options and 'upgrade side' options with the handheld menus. They also have entrees. Lots of chicken dishes and meatloaf. I would love to try one of their milk shakes and pies. So much food. So little time. Whether a local or a tourist this is a nice little diner. read more

Waiter was good. My meal was good. My wife's 2-egg breakfast-for-dinner was "chilly." They retired it and the 2nd try was lukewarm, oddly, my patty melt was still warm after her 2nd meal came out! The bacon , although there was a lot of it was chewy instead of crispy same with the lettuce , it seemed to be wilted and not much of it, and the tomato was small , got it on sourdough , which was very , very lightly toasted. Fries came out warm, but not hot. It seemed like everything was already cooked and set out under a heat lamp.For some time , don't know if it was under a heat lamp or not , it just seemed that way. The vibes are immaculate. The decor, staff uniform, lighting, and food come together and form a little pocket of diner glory in today's modern world. We walked in they were very busy, no one said anything to us. We didn't know if it was self seating or not so we sat our selves I mean no one was uo there for a good 8 minutes. Once the server came to us she told us to get up and wait over by the front counter which there was no room to wait with a big family was all standing there and did insinuate the booth we were at was free game to sit at for us. Always busy...always packed...service is always great. I love the dozens upon dozens of PEZ dispensers decorating the entire diner. Food comes out quickly. If you are looking for a sweet treat...you cannot go wrong with the shakes. You get enough to share, which we usually do. I had the chicken tenders (sorry I forgot to grab a pic before I snarfed it all up). Love the fries. The fiesta burger is great. The meatloaf is great. This is a fun spot and it has yummy burgers and fries. We ordered the basic burgers and a side of fried okra. The burgers were nicely cooked to order and huge for me. I like medium rare and by gum my burger was pink! I took half home. The fried okra was good and reheated well in the oven. The coleslaw was a bit too sweet and creamy for my taste, but i bet lots of folks like it that way. Our server was quick and attentive. The decor is spot on. This is a great and fun place to take kids. We didn't order shakes this time, but have in the past and they are excellent. My last three visits have been not that great for a place I loved to eat at. A few months ago, I was treated rude by the man with the mohawk. A week ago, I had the mashed potatoes, which were not mashed but lumpy and not cleaned before cooking. Lots of green with a taste of mold. When I called about it the manager was unsure what it was said he felt it was good. Didn't make any effort to resolve my concerns. Was planning to stop here on my recent roadtrip as I have a strict always eat at retro diners on road trips rule and I was able to eat here on my return trip home to AZ and this did not disappoint.
