Okay so I I've come to QC about 8-12 times now just to see if it's me or what I'm ordering...but it's not. This place is obviously super instagrammable and in a great location. Their items always look wicked delicious. Unfortunately, every single cupcake I've gotten and tried had been crumbly, dry, and not flavorful. The icings tends to be overly sweet. I went on a Saturday morning and there were already few other people in line, so had a little bit of time to think about what to get. I got a cotton candy hostess, birthday cake ice cream, classroom MVP, fluffernutter, cinnamon apple, and red velvet nutella cupcake. Plenty of frosting and toppings and a few of them were even filled with more marshmallow/chocolatey goodness. They are the standard size cupcakes, so they'll fill you right up as a perfect ending to your meal. I am honestly over-the-moon about this place. I've been coming here for a few years and make an effort to try a new flavor every time I go. OKAY...so I have to admit... I MAY stalk their Instagram to see what the cupcakes of the day are, but who doesn't? Right? The bakers are incredibly talented. I ordered 3 dozen cupcakes for my baby shower in the fall and they made them exactly how I had requested. The owner sat down with me and gave me all my options of flavors and colors. She made the process so easy! I had previously bought Peter Rabbit cupcake decorations to use and they had no problem putting them on for me. They did the frosting colors perfectly and even piped half the cupcakes to look like they were frosted with green grass. Can I just say how much I love this store? my husband and I were just driving down the street and I screamed at him and told him to stop. The storefront was so inviting with this wonderful brownstone charm. I just love the name... The Queen's Cups... Of course I had to go in. I was also looking for a really good bakery and my prayers were answered. Let's just say I bought $13 worth of four cupcakes. The service is sweet and wonderful and I met the owner's mother who was completely warm and inviting and explain the story of the shop. The impression was family and friends which I absolutely love and respect. Now can I tell you the cupcake display was marvelous. Very decorative and imaginative. I think the most interesting one I had was the pistachio vodka cupcake... Yes an alcoholic cupcake!!!! Loved it. I bought these cupcakes so I wouldn't have to make dessert for the Easter the the next day. The desserts were amazing!! I also love the Tiramisu cupcake. Also, there's a beautiful sitting area where you can study and just hang out. If you happen to be on the Mass Pike please drop by this fabulous store because you will not regret it in Worcester!!! They have standard flavors like red velvet or chocolate but most are very creative, original concoctions like Maple Walnut Sweet Potato Pie, Black Forest, peanut butter pie. I believe the flavors change daily (but you can call ahead to reserve your favorite flavor) and they have gluten free options. I'm sorry, I have to say my first visit to Queens Cups was nothing special. The place itself, upon walking in looks amazing. There are so many desserts that are so colorful and inviting. It's so hard to pick out just one! But I did choose a cupcake called " looks like a snack". It was a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting and a tiny pretzel, mini Kit Kat and little chocolate chip cookie stuffed into the frosting. Upon eating it I found that the cake itself was quite dry, not moist by any definition of the word. Inside the middle of it was a ball of chocolate chip cookie dough, a hard little ball. I mean, hard. So, overall I was not impressed with my cupcakes taste, but very impressed with the presentation. We visited on a Sunday, Father's Day, around 3 PM. I expected the cases to be fairly empty as it was towards the end of the day but there was plenty of selection. We were greeted by the staff and given time to make our selections and have our questions answered. The atmosphere is cute, though my daughter suggested they needed a bigger display case as we were told there were "more selections in the back" but who knew what they were? A list of available cupcakes & a menu describing each one would be a great addition. One could see what is available & find it on the menu. It would bring people back to try things they see on the menu but were not available the day they visited. We tried cupcakes, the stuffed Matilda cake and the chocolate hazelnut cookies. The Matilda cake was moist, intensely chocolatey with just enough peanut butter-delicious. The hazelnut cookie was stuffed with chocolate hazelnut spread and beyond delicious. The cupcakes are beautiful as well as creative. They are good but we liked the cookies and Matilda better. Some reviews have mentioned the cupcakes being dry, I think this is because people do not let them get to room temperature, which makes all the difference. We will definitely be back to Queen's cups as there are so many more things we need to try! read more

My sweet tooth and desperation for some normalcy when COVID started led me back to Queens Cups. What did they do to their recipes? Everything is so SOFT now!! I take back my first review 100%. I've had some really good experiences at TQC and I've had some really bad ones. Let me start this by saying I have a gluten allergy and gluten free cupcakes are really hard to come by around here so when I saw that they offer them, I was excited. She posts flavors daily but the gluten free ones are always super basic like "very vanilla" and "chocolate lovers"...and 9/10, they're dairy free and vegan too. I get you want to please everyone and have options for everyone but sometimes I just want a gluten free cupcake, with dairy and all. The best gluten free cupcake I've had from there was a raspberry crumb, it was delicious and moist! But they haven't had it since. And they never answer questions on Instagram posts which is fairly annoying since they post on their story 24/7. And the girls that work there aren't very friendly at all and would rather talk to each other than help you. I don't know, I'll continue to try and give them the benefit of the doubt but if you don't have patience, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Every time I go, I never end up getting the same one, often because they always have different flavors every time but also because I like to try their large selection of cupcakes. My kids love cupcakes. We usually bake them ourselves or I pick some up on my way home from work in Boston. I read many positive reviews about this cupcakery and my cousin gave is a glowing review. Since we live in the area, I took my 9 y/o here to get some cupcakes after she had a bad Friday at school. When we arrived there was no one in the store. Two gentlemen entered after us. My 9 y/o and I were perusing the display case since it was our first visit to the store. The girl behind the counter completely ignored us and helped the gentlemen first. I would have been fine letting them go before us since my 9 y/o takes a while to decide but we weren't even asked. She just ignored us. I should of realized this was the start of a bad experience. We decided to get a box of 6. The cupcakes all look very pretty. Unfortunately, the box they give you to take them home is too small!! I buy cupcakes frequently and have never been given a box of cupcakes that does not even close. My 9 y/o was excited and sat with them on her lap with the box open. At home the kids eagerly dug into their cupcakes and were disappointed. Every single one was hard and dry. The not chocolate ones all tasted the same. There really wasn't a difference in flavor. They all tasted like a vanilla cupcake. The children were so disappointed they didn't even finish their cupcakes!! And these kids love anything with frosting. Maybe it was an off day, it was Friday in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, for the price, we're going to stick with our regular cupcakery. read more

My absolute favorite bakery! I'm not a huge frosting fan, so I don't usually get cupcakes, but I will make a stop here any time I'm in the area for cookies or a Matilda. The shop is always clean and staff is friendly. This us definitely one of my favorite go to places. So many varieties of cupcakes to try its hard to pick just one. Best suggestion is to call in am to get varieties of the day and pick one to reserve for when you get there. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Even the owner she came out and spoke with us last time we were there and was very nice very glad that we had driven about an hour to get the cupcakes that we had ordered. She gave us a free sample of her cake pops which were absolutely amazing. We are hoping that they are going to open a place a bit closer to us in the future so that we can come more often. As of now I only get up there about once every couple of months when I go to visit a family member in nursing home nearby. Keep up the good work everyone at Queen's cups. I really wanted to love these cupcakes. Everything looks beautiful, they do a very artful job of decorating and making things look amazing. The fruit they used was very fresh. However, the cake flavors where almost flavorless. I read some of the negative reviews and unfortunately I have to agree that the chocolate cake was not at all tasty and vanilla was very dry. We purchased 6 cupcakes, of the six I tasted three. The strawberry margarita was really pretty and it does have alcohol in it. The cake part, not sure what flavor it was, got soggy, probably from the alcohol. The fresh strawberry half was good and the strawberry syrup tasty but I didn't care for the frosting. I also tasted the blueberry coffee cake and the chocolate smores. Each had its own problems with flavors and textures. As for the negative reviews of staff, I just didn't witness that at all. It was a Saturday and very busy. Staff were very patient and helpful with customers, I don't see how they could have been any better. I guess it's just personal tastes as they are a successful business and have a lot of great reviews. They really draw you in with the beautiful decorations, and creative flavors with multiple components but I think I prefer a simple, well-made and flavorful cupcake. read more

Voted "The Best of Worcester"? Yeah, because they are the only gourmet cupcake place in Worcester! I purchased 8 cupcakes and 6 of them were so dry we couldn't eat them without a drink. The icing was hard and most definitely not fresh. They claim to sell their cupcakes within 24 hours but I've made cupcakes at home and I know the difference between a fresh cupcake vs. a two/three day old cupcake tastes like. I called today and all the manager had to say was "I'm sorry you didn't like them." The least she could have done was say "come back in and your cupcake is on me!" You would think they would want to stand behind their product and prove that they make delicious products. Even if they were sold within 24 hours, I won't be going back as it seems like they don't know how to bake a moist cake! After a second phone call from my Mom, all the manager had to say was "what was your daughter expecting me to say?" Unbelievable! She then suggested emailing the owner. These people know what they are doing and they are doing it right and correct when it comes to Cupcakes and other sweet treats. We made our very first visit today and had the pleasure of meeting the Owner's Mother named Barbara. Her and the young staff took great care of us. They were very kind, helpful and took their duties seriously and knew very well what kind of Cupcakes there were and their ingredients of them. There were many Cupcakes to choose from (possibly 20 to 25 different flavors and styles) and we had 4 different ones and they were all nice and yummy. They told us that they switch up flavors and colors on a regular and daily basis to keep things interesting. WOW!!! They only use high quality ingredients here and it shows. It is a nice quaint little place and it is very lovely and the staff made us feel welcome and like a family friend visiting for Dessert. They have been in business for over a year or so now, but, they handle their business like Dessert Veterans and the quality and recipes are wonderful. And, they have Coffee too! They are located directly on a busy street in the downtown area of Worcester and we are happy that we stopped by briefly for a nice visit and delicious Cupcakes.
