Quarter is an interesting concept. I went with a Groupon and it was decent. The whole area is one big room, so it's very noisy and it's hard to maneuver around when it is busy. The video games are very old and I wish they had newer, more popular ones. The popular ones like X-Men and Simpsons were busy the whole time. read more

I singles bar for geeks/freaks/artists/techs/people that like to read etc. Picture if you will a singles bar or a sports bar where all of the TV screens are replaced with classic 80s arcade machines, the drink are a bit more interesting and all those stupid people are repaved by interesting smart people. I felt the need to rewrite this review because the place is so unique. It's a Great little bar that mimics another bar I know in Brooklyn, NY. I can't wait to check the place out when it gets warm out because I think it will change the whole experience being on the bike path and almost hidden from the rest of the world especially since it's like going back in time. So if your feeling nostalgic or just wishing to show youngsters what it was like back In the golden era of arcades this is the place and with a decent menu. There little dogs are great snack food and the fries are fresh. The disco fries are a must if your drinking. I must admit I was disappointed that the pinball machines weren't on but that might be because I went at lunch time. Games needed Zaxon & Tron. I also think they may wish to go retro with the music but we know opinions are like a-holes everyone has one. PS don't take this as a complaint just more as something meant to be humorous (if your going to have an old time arcade table you need to offer pizza to those that sit down and play it). I like everything about The Quarters-- the games are (obviously) excellent, the beer selection's thoughtful, and they served the best bar snacks I've had in a long time-- the tonkatsu fries (fries with sliced fried chicken, tonkatsu sauce, and shredded cabbage) were unbelieveably delicious. read more

A friend showed me this place. They have a bunch of retro arcade games along the walls. Good food, good beer, can't complain. The bar table is a little short but it's compensated with the amount of sitting-tables around the main floor. read more

I just realized I hadn't reviewed this place yet. We went several times last year with my nephews. We did the Saturday morning unlimited cereal and game play. Adults were $10 and kids $8. Seems a little high but you can play as many games as you would like. They give you a cup of coins and when you run out you just go back to the cashier and she fills it up again. The cereal bar is self serve and had tons of choices. They state on their site that they play 80's cartoons during the event but we went several times and they never had cartoons playing. It's a really fun thing to do with the kids and there are tons of old school arcade games. I only gave 4 stars because the parking lot is small and so it can get frustrating finding a spot to park. It also gets super crowded inside and can take a bit of time to find an opening on a game. We went as soon as they opened and that works the best since it's pretty empty in the beginning. Hmmm... well $3 for lemonade that tastes bad. Dirty tables..are they unable to hire someone to clean? The dirty tables sat dirty for over hour. It was not very busy either. The Quarters is an awesome place to hangout and to relive your childhood. The bartenders are always friendly and thier drinks are amazingly tasty and the food is very satisfying. A fun place to go almost any night of the week. The food and drink selection is vast and mostly 80's/nerd culture themed, and I've never eaten anything I didn't like. The sweet potato french fries are my favorite in the valley. They usually have one or two people working the bar, which can get hectic if the bar fills up, but everyone working there is quick and attentive (worthy of a nice tip). Tons of games, just an ungodly amount of games- everything from Tetris to Mortal Kombat, even The Simpsons game. The machines work as well as machines work at an arcade, which is to say that sometimes you lose a quarter but not enough to make you cry. They even have little shelves next to the games so you can drink and play at the same time. They host tons of theme nights and events, like almost every day of the week. The best thing, though, is TRIVIA NIGHT. The host is fun and crafts great questions, and you're up against some pretty savvy teams. The bar is small, and seating is limited, so if you're coming for a big event, arrive EARLY. The bar backs right up to the Rail Trail, and in the summer there's an outdoor space you can sit and relax in. read more

It's rare to find a place where kids can be kids in a contained area, grownups can have a conversation and a drink, and everyone can find something on the menu they want to eat all at the same time. It's a true gem. Nothing about The Quarters is big: the space, the menu, the number of consoles, the number of beers on tap, but everything offered is well-curated, fun, and delicious. Special and seasonal drinks, meals, and sides help spice up the offerings from one week to another, their theme nights are super fun, and the staff are perfectly lovely and accommodating. Those displeased with the prices may not understand what it costs to pay folks a living wage and offer quality ingredients. And, those who think the staff is less than friendly, may have a different definition of friendly. We go pretty frequently and would be there more often if there was a substantial salad on the menu and/or fried stuff was a little less salty. But, you don't go to the Quarters for your health... you go for the fun, which it offers buckets of with a side of TetrisTots, and a ChocoTaco. read more

I went to the quarters on a Wednesday night and they were very busy! This was my first time going and I loved the fun atmosphere. Also I liked how each game is really only 25 cents, so you can have entertainment for a very affordable price. the food was very affordable too, and i had a burger and a hot dog. the best part was probably the fact that the bartender knew what she was doing. I didn't know what to get and she listened to me and made me a great drink! This place is fun with the right group of people and I will definitely go again. read more

Took my family with two kids here for lunch. This place needs some kind of organization and more employees. People are everywhere. There is no waitstaff. You have to walk in and fight for a dirty table. My wife had to clean off the table with wipes!! The customers are eating their food while playing arcade games. No employee acknowledges you. I can't rate the food because my kids just wanted to leave. I was ok to leave though because I figured if the restaurant is this dirty, I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. These guys have a great thing going, but need to clean this place up and have a better business structure!! read more

It took a year and a half to open, you would think in that time they could get things taken care of. I went on their 3rd day open I ordered a beer and I could not get it because "that tap was not running". One of the pinball machines was not working correctly. The place is really awesome! The food is great and at a reasonable price. They also have an assortment of beers on tap, and liquor choices. There are a number of tables variant in size so you can do your thing wether that is sit and chat with friends eat your food and wait in line to play some of the arcade games. There is a huge selection of old school games and that makes this place what it is and is the main attraction. With that said I only gave it three stars due to the size of the facility, and the drink glasses. The building is very small with very little room to maneuver around the tables and hordes of college students. There is a convenient patio outside for those who enjoy smoking and fresh air. Now as for the beverages, I didn't happen to get an exact size of the glasses but they're pretty small mason jars. Neat concept but when you pay the same price for a pint of beer at a normal bar in Northampton that's saying something. A fun place where all ages can enjoy some yummy fries, fun arcade games. I had a cooling drink of house infused ginger vodka, ginger beer and lime distinctly called the Murderous Mule. Delicious! Parmesan and rosemary fries added just enough saltiness to go with my drink. They were warm and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. I also had one of the best veggie burger sliders ever! Picked carrot and daikon along with Siracha mayo were a hot/cool/spicy combo that left me wishing I had more! Then on to the games! Childhood memories came flooding back! My girlfriend and I come here once a month. We mostly came for the geeky atmosphere - what I did not expect was the fantastic food. I expected good bar food, but the food and the drinks here is worth going for alone. It's a comfortable place that's populated without being massively crowded and is a nice alternate experience to a college bar or a club.
