I was genuinely excited about participating in the Holiday Market at Sonny's Place. I toured the grounds with one of their ambassadors, discussed my accessibility needs, and was told they'd help me secure a comfortable setup. I even took the time to alert their team about scam posts on Facebook from people pretending to collect vendor fees--trying to protect their community. Instead of being met with professionalism or gratitude, I was removed as a vendor without explanation. No courtesy call, no clarity, nothing but dismissive behavior from Mackenzie, the person handling vendor relations. After everything I shared and the effort I put in, her response made it clear how poorly these events are managed. To make matters worse, the building itself is not ADA accessible, which violates the basic principles of ADA Title III. As a full-time wheelchair user, that alone speaks volumes. Equal access should never be an afterthought. I came in with good faith, ready to create something beautiful for families and children. Instead, I left disappointed, stressed, and honestly shocked at how little care was given to accessibility or communication. Vendors--especially those of us in the disability community--should think twice before signing up. Avoid the headache and the heartache. You deserve better than this.

Unfortunately, everything else about the visit was disappointing. My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday, and it was also our first time visiting since recently moving to Massachusetts. When we arrived around 10:30 PM, we went to purchase tokens for the arcade games. At that time, we were told we should buy all the tokens we wanted immediately because token service would be closing in about 20 minutes. This seemed unusual considering the business advertises closing at 2:00 AM. I mentioned that we could simply use the self-service machines later if needed, but we were told those might also be shut down soon due to being short staffed. We then decided we would just get drinks and bowl instead, but we were informed that the bartender would also be leaving shortly. When I said we would just order drinks right away, we were then told the bartender was currently on break. At this point, I was confused and frustrated because we had called the business only a couple of minutes before arriving and were not told that services would be shutting down early. We had specifically planned our evening based on the posted hours. Another staff member kindly offered to sell us bottled drinks but explained he could not make cocktails until the bartender returned. While purchasing those drinks, we were also told that lane purchases would be closing soon due to the same staffing issue. At that point, we decided to just pay for two games of bowling and end the night early since it seemed like multiple services were shutting down. After we started bowling, the bartender returned from break. When I finished my drink and went to the bar to order a mixed drink, I stood there waiting for some time. The bartender made eye contact with me, but then proceeded to serve another guest who had just walked up after me. I found this frustrating and ultimately decided not to order anything further. I understand that staffing shortages happen and that employees can have difficult shifts. However, the lack of communication about services closing early and the overall experience made what was meant to be a special birthday outing very disappointing--especially as a first experience at this establishment. I hope this was an isolated situation, but based on this visit, I unfortunately would not recommend it.

Rented some banger skates and discovered it's like riding a bike, you never forget how. Made a few loops and they started playing some old 90's alternative rock on the sound system. Awesome. The only negative was I was hoping to play some Golden Axe on the vintage cabinet I remember they had. I was hoping they still had it but alas, it was gone. I heard an Italian Pizza Man absconded with it by winning craploads of prize tickets. I rate the experience at 9/10 Gaias Cradles

Management referenced a 30-second interaction, during that time I was clearly managing an agitated baby and verbally stated multiple times that I had already being spoken to rudely. Not addressing the same rule more than ONCE mind you. That should have prompted staff to stop and assess the situation instead of continuing to escalate it. I refuse to not support my child ( 5, 4 and 20 month old) while they are skating for the first time, nor will I allow my children to sit and cry in public without support. When I picked up my 20 month old during an intense emotional episode, I was not skating. I had just exited the rink and was returning to the bench. I clearly stated this and indicated I had literally picked her up 6 seconds, barley getting her to my chest before he barreled around the corner to approached, make several abrupt remarks, and left without any attempt at respectful or professional/personable communication. This place has been garbage for over 7 years!!! I would not recommend this establishment in Hadley Massachusetts. We are a family of five (two adults, two children ages 2-5, and a 1.5-year-old). We rented two pairs of skates at a cost exceeding $70. During our visit, staff repeatedly confronted us in a manner that felt unnecessarily confrontational and lacked professionalism. I was first approached for holding my 1.5-year-old while skating, which I understand may be against policy; however, this was my first time skating with young children, and the interaction was handled poorly. On another occasion, my fiancé attempted to cross the center line briefly to assist me while I was managing both a toddler and a young child. There were no skaters nearby at the time, yet he was again confronted by the same employee. In the carpeted area, I picked up my crying child, and within seconds was approached and instructed to put her down because I was wearing skates. The delivery of these instructions was abrupt and lacked any empathy or discretion. Additionally, the skates provided for my child were visibly worn and in poor condition. The Velcro no longer functioned properly, a concern that was verbally acknowledged by a staff member while adjusting them. Despite advertising as a family-friendly venue, our experience did not reflect that claim. This facility may be more suitable for experienced skaters rather than families with young children. We were offered free lessons for the kids and still, we denied them for lack of empathy and confrontational approach. Owner tries to argue every negative review. Your place is old, your skates are unsafe and your staff is unbearably disrespectful to parents, and according to reviews, your summer camp kids hate it too. Response from the owner or manager Hello Kristie, thank you for taking time to write a review. Although a direct conversation, while you were in the facility, would be more productive and helpful, we always appreciate feedback. It is unfortunate that you found simple instruction, on serious safety concern, "abrupt." The risk of falling or dropping a child from four or five feet in the air, while you are on skates, is never taken lightly. The fact you had to be reminded multiple times demonstrates your lack of understanding. I encountered you only once directly, for all of 30 seconds, and you were flippant and arogant, arguing about holding your child while you were on skates. Safety should never be taken lightly. The rest of your commentary is inflamatory and unwaranted. And yes, $70 for five admissions and two rentals is accurate. I challenge you to find a better value for an afternoon with the family. Our offer of free skating lessons was genuine and an attempt to give your family a chance to further enjoy skating. I'm not sure what your reference is to summer camp; We have none. If you wish to have an honest conversation about your experience, and find a path where I am still willing to help your children with free skating lessons, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to helping you create fun memories with your family. Thank you again for taking time to comment. The owner continues bashing any negative review without taking any accountability for their lack of perfessionalism.

They also host birthday parties. General admission for kids 2 and older is $16.95, adults are free; if they have a sibling under 2, they are also free. I purchased the general admission ticket ($16.95) plus a pre-loaded $16 game bracelet for $26.95. Shoes are not allowed so socks are recommended. There was a snack area and tables for the parents. Restrooms were clean and had changing tables. The arcade area was small with an air hockey table, photo booth, and various arcade games. My toddler loved the dinosaur egg machine; there were toys inside those golden eggs. The playground has two levels and they were soft on the feet. The slides were steep but my son loved it; I can see why there's a disclaimer that it goes fast. There was an indoor go-kart track that my son also loved riding the little go-karts on; it went around the playscape. There were large Legos, blocks, a ball pit, a mini donut shop, ride on toy cars, and grocery store. We spent an hour and a half there and my son still didn't want to leave. My other son is a crawler, he still enjoyed the toys at the mini stores and the ride on cars. Overall it was 5 stars for my children and I; we look forward to going back and highly recommend it for kids 10 and under.
