As many other yelpers have noted parking is a bit weird but if you park at the casino, grab a bite to eat, and walk over then you're probably fine. When it comes to seating, I don't really think that there is a bad seat in the house and the seats are pretty spacious. Saw a hockey game here and it was so fun. Lots of food and drink options. The night I went was a sensory friendly night. That is such a great idea to accommodate everyone. The only minor complaint I had was there was a constant breeze and it was colder inside than I expected it to be. read more

This is your typical cookie cutter, multipurpose arena that houses mid headliner concerr draws, as well as basketball, home shows, and serves as the home of the Springfield Thunderbirds. Seating is configured in a lower bowl, upper bowl arrangement. Max capacity is around six to eight thousand patrons, depending on who is on the marquis that night. Seats are about as comfortable as flying coach on a budget airline if you are oong legged or large sized. There are no escalators in the main lobby which was surprising. That said, there is always a strong law enforcement presence on the concourse keeping everyone safe. Convenient parking at the MGM Springfield is about an eight minute walk - a better option than giving $20 to some shady guy in a yellow windbreaker who promises to "watch your car" while your gone. While there are a couple of smaller vacant lots that may be closer, it's sucker bait: save your money. Go Thunderbirds! read more

I am extremely disappointment regarding the outstanding refund of an erroneous ACH payment. It has now been over four weeks since I first requested this refund. To clarify, this payment was made under a policy that was officially discontinued and surrendered over four months ago. This fact should have expedited the resolution of this matter significantly. the prolonged delay, coupled with the clear invalidity of the policy under which the payment was made is unacceptable. This protracted process has consumed considerable time and energy, a stark contrast to the expectations MassMutual places on their policyholders regarding timely premium payments. This inconsistency in treatment is troubling and raises serious concerns about their commitment to fair and equitable service for all customers. read more

What an amazing venue to see a concert! We got last minute tickets to Bruno Mars, which was billed as a show at MGM Springfield. It's actually down the street but I guess it's now considered part of the casino. The concert venue is smaller than the XL Center and the outdoor Xfinity Center. There are no bad seats. Stage can be enjoyed from any location. The concessions were amazing, offering $12 drinks made from top shelf liquor. This is a rarity at live events! Usually the prices are twice as much for cheap liquor. I had a delicious $12 margarita made from Casamigos and it was not overly sweet or sour. There was also a bar outdoors with some table tops, which I assumed also doubles as a smoking area. I won't hesitate to see another concert here soon! I although the stage presence and sound a Bruno Mars would be tough to beat. read more

Located in the middle of Springfield a short drive from the highway, this Center was home to a holiday show that my family and I watched during the winter months. We got there early to pick up tickets and was quick and painless as the box office was able to verify our online groupon purchases for four tickets. We then had time to explore the neighborhood nearby. Sadly though in the evening, there isn't much open. When it came time for the show, we were in the top section of the center enjoying a wide view of the holiday show. Not much complaints there understanding that the seats are typical of other centers; you'll be getting to know the guest next to you. What was cool and interesting during the second half of the show, there were seats available down on the floor and we were asked if we wanted to move down. We thought it was too good to be true, but there were no strings attached. We enjoyed the rest of the show with the finale with a pretty good view right by the stage. Glad that our first time here was a memorable one. read more

Came here for my daughter's Dance competition and got charged 5 dollars for a 16.9 ounce bottle of water because you can't bring in a sealed bottle thats called Highway Robbery a 75 cent bag of chips was $4.50. I would tell anyone coming here for an event to boycott the vendors they hire to sell food and walk down the street a block and buy from another store. Okay, it's medium sized sport arena that has been around for quite some time, but it has been renovated so well you can hardly tell it is as old as it it! I have only seen concerts here, and from what I can tell, not a bad seat in the house. Sound seems to be good everywhere as well, and it's easy to get in and out of. The MGM Casino is nearby, as are a lot of other pubs and restaurants. read more

I love coming here for Thunderbirds games! Never been disappointed when being here. It's great the drink selections they have, but this girl likes her Guinness! And I'm very glad they offer it! The food options are typical stadium foods, pizza, hotdogs, chicken tenders, but they're all so yummy! Makes me sad hockey season is coming to an end! Parking can be a hit or a miss. The lot right across the street wants 25....25 dollars to park! No thank you. Park a street away and it's 10. Or, if you're in no rush after the game/event, go for the parking garage. I had to come to this arena for the first time for my sisters Cheerleading Competition I must say I liked this place . The parking garage is directly across the building which is so convenient for easy parking and not a long walk to the building. The building itself is huge. I noticed it was very clean and the staff was very attentive and helpful, because dealing with hundreds of young cheerleaders and families is hard. I believe the building also wasn't difficult to navigate around you didn't have to walk all the way around to get somewhere. The food section was easy access as well all right in the beginning as you walk in and surprisingly since there was so many food booths around the lines weren't long at all. I wish the arena back home was as organized as this place . read more

Okay so this past month, the wife and I went to Louis C.K. in Springfield at this place. There was adequate parking across the street which was reasonably priced. The food and drinks were overpriced (not surprised, and not complaining about that). Otherwise the facility was clean. So, why so dissatisfied? Well, we bought tickets to seats, in a row, that didn't exist. Let me rephrase that. We were sold tickets to seats that didn't exist. The row was located where the cameras recording the show were stationed. Tickets had gone on sale months in advance, but this wasn't figured out until the day of. So our row had been displaced. Supposedly there's a policy that if you have to be moved, then you get better seats. We were moved to the stands (by staff) to the front, left of the stage. We were so excited! Then the people that bought tickets to those seats arrived. So we were moved, by staff, to seats stage left, eight rows from the stage. We were so pumped! Then, the people that bought the tickets to that spot showed up. We were then moved five rows back from where our original spot was supposed to be, left of the stage. We were bumbed to the nth degree. The floor staff were polite, and very understanding. The supervisor was handling a situation as best he could, and had been working on trying to get the seats rearranged. When we got our last placement, he was apologetic and understanding. This wasn't his fault, he and the rest of his floor staff did the best they could in this situation. This is the only reason this facility got a 2 out of 5 was because of the staff. I know how it is to be in their shoe's, I couldn't get mad with them. They weren't at fault. The person arranging the seats (who isn't there), was at fault. He gave a name and an e-mail to make a complaint. My wife sent an e-mail, she received a phone call about it, but we received no resolution. After two weeks I am writing my review. We are pretty much over it, though not happy about what happened. read more

Well, I was expecting more seeing that the convention center was renovated. As for the coliseum, they just put in a fresh coat of paint and put in new, smaller seats. It's still a better experience than going to Hartford, but that is not saying much. The food served looked very bad. read more

Situated right in the heart of Downtown Springfield, the MassMutual Center shines, a beacon for those yearning to see Springfield Falcons hockey games or endure the joy and / or pain of attending a school-related day long conference. I would have gone for a hockey game, but, I digress. I recently came here for the Bay Path College Women's Leadership Conference. (As an alumni of the college AND a current grad student in their online Masters program, how could I say no to a free ticket? YESSSS.) The layout of the center is pretty simple, though I'm curious as to what their occupancy capacity is; as our school's president proudly bragged that we hit record attendance at more than 2,000 people, I noticed how crowded both open levels of common space were getting as I had to close my eyes at some points and say to myself, "Big...open...spaces...big...open...spaces..." The main ballroom easily held the 2,000+ of us with ease, thank goodness, and the layout of the ballroom table set-up was very easy to maneuver. Smaller rooms for breakout sessions accommodated all very all, too. I've heard that Bay Path's graduation has recently been moved to the MassMutual Center from the Longmeadow Campus, as our graduating classes keep getting bigger and bigger. If I don't lose my mind as a grad student and graduate on schedule, it looks like I'll be making another trip to this building to pick up my Masters diploma and chuck some deuces come May 2014. I'll have to update this then to see how the center can handle the onslaught of innumerable families and graduates... read more

Spent some time at MassMutual Center this afternoon for a wedding expo, and had to say that this location was a great place to hold it. The building is gorgeous, and the location is easy to get to from the highway. The staff was extremely polite, and the bathrooms were extremely clean. The only downside to this location is the fact that they have limited street parking, and the surrounding lots can be a little pricy depending on the event. read more

If you're favorite band is playing anywhere else,go there. I've been to 2 shows this year at the Times Union center in Albany NY and really had no problem paying $11 for a 24oz beer. They are $16 dollar here, are u kidding me. What the free parking at the crappy casino makes $5 extra for every beer worth it? I don't think so. For a city like this size, I'm impressed it has a convention center. The place is respectably sized and was able to accomodate at least 2000 people like ourselves during a product symposium on a weekend. I recall seeing a well preserved, beautiful vintage car that's parked in the lobby. Relatively, the location is right in the middle of the city. Went to a Bill Burr show. I was in section 63, row J. Person behind me in row K was absolutely obnoxious and drunk before the show even started. He was yelled at by multiple people including myself and was reported to staff who did nothing. He was yelling during jokes and recording video when it clearly said no phones. Completely ruined the experience for me and many people in our section. Was appalled that staff did nothing. Even Bill Burr noted that someone was yelling like a "dying bird" during his show. It was great to be back at the Mass Mutual Center for the Thunderbirds home opener! I hadn't been in years, so I was very excited! Food selections are pretty much the same as they have always been, but there were many more beer vendors, which was nice for us adults. It was clean in there and the staff was friendly, but I was very disappointed in the sound system and the lighting. We could hardly hear the announcer and the music, and I think that's a big part of the game. And whoever was in charge of the lighting could use some practice. I was here for a training seminar. I thought the facility was well maintained and the bathrooms were fully stocked and clean. They had payphones, outlets and comfy lounge chairs for guests to use. My only minor issue with this facility is that they did not continuously sell snacks or food. You would have to go outside to eat (or bring your own food). Paid parking is available across the street from the site; I think it was $7 for the day, which I felt was reasonably cost. read more

Unfortunately, the Springfield (Massmutual) Center is really showing its age. Its horribly outdated, cramped, has an antique scoreboard compared to the rest of the AHL, lacking in concessions, and its difficult to park at. The people that work there are friendly, and SPFD Falcons have been competitive, but thats about it for positives as this place needs a lot of TLC. The Worcester sharks are losing their hockey team and their arena is head and shoulders above this one, I hope that ownership can make this place a first class arena someday. read more

What a mess this place is. We went to a Louis Ck show and the venue made it almost completely unenjoyable. We had seats in the back and there were no chairs ready. We had to wait forever for them to bring us our seats. There was such a seating mess that this continued throughout the night with other guests. It was loud and distracting. They were just giving people folded chairs and telling them to find somewhere to sit. It was difficult to hear, especially because the speaker system was horrible. I missed half the jokes, what a waste of money. I will never be back here. read more
