    Piggies races

The BigE is our favorite Fall event to attend! This year we visited during the first weekend and wereabout to catch several of the farm animal judging events. At this fair there is something for everyone here. My standard is the cream puffs, egg clair and Maine bake potatoes! Piggies races are always fun and the petting zoo is worth the crowd of kids! Driving from NYC is only 2.5 hours and return trip an hour longer. My recommendation is park a residential driveway across the street from Entrance gate 4 & 5. They charge anywhere from $25 right across the street from the entrance to $10 half a block farther down the street.

Speechless! My first time here this year and "sensory overload" is an understatement. This fair is like its own planet where you can buy anything under the sun from home decor, handmade gifts and hot tubs to massages, cars and vacations. There are carnival rides, farm animals and concerts you can attend. It is just as wild as it sounds! And the food!! I saw many interesting things such as foot-long mozzarella sticks and "loaded" fries topped with mashed potatoes. What I actually ate was pierogi from Millie's pierogi and mini apple cider donuts from The Donut Family. Being a Polish girl, I can confirm the pierogi were legitimate (which is hard to find) and delicious. The mini donuts were truly unbelievable!! They gave us a sample to try and then we ordered a bucket of them! The dough was so light and airy that they tasted almost hollow in the middle. I've never had a donut like it! We will likely be back at this event in the future :)

Big E is okay While it's really crowded at most times, it's still somewhat an enjoyable experience. The food is really expensive but they have a good variety of unique dishes to choose from. I ran into a few interesting people that I know of at the Big E. The animals at the gate are cute and the quilt displays are impressive. I would say that I had a really good time at the Big E last Sunday which was a once-in-a-blue moon experience. We've got better fairs with solid food, games, and more that is right around where I live.

Last time we went was ten years ago. I only went this year because my son wanted to experience it. We spent $70 to enter and $400 for food/drinks inside. Nothing special, just fair food and it wasn't that good but we were there for 8+ hours. Lots to look at. I don't like the petting zoo or how they have animal rides because those poor animals look so sad. The rides itself were great. I got an unlimited wristband ride for my son for under $40 so he had a blast. We spent most of our time in the rides area for him. There are not enough restrooms around. The ones we used were super dirty and the floor was wet. I don't miss being here and I don't want to return. More importantly, my son said he doesn't want to return either.

Another year down in the books! This was the first year we came during the evening. This year we focused on food and getting all the little snacks. Of course we had to support another local vendor Oh My Ganache! If you haven't heard about her, go check her out. She makes amazing cookies, pastries, and another sweet treats. She even made my wedding cake!

Love our yearly visit to The Big E! This two week September fair of all six New England states is one of the best around. This year's Big E was pretty awesome! The food is always a highlight, and if you shop around you can usually find delicious and interesting options at not too outrageous prices. This year I enjoyed a Maple Creemie from Ferrindino Maple, a Loaded Baked Potato in the Maine building, a glass of wine from Tavolo in the Rhode Island building, a slice of dill pickle pizza from Angela's, and fried oreos. All were amazing and I love trying foods that are hard to find elsewhere. This year's circus was especially good as well, with a motorcycle act, a tightrope walker, roller skaters, clowns, and acrobats, among other acts. The Midway is filled with rides and games - my favorite is the giant Ferris Wheel because from the top, you get a great view of the entire fairgrounds. Pro tip: Try to go on a weekday. The Big E gets extremely crowded to the point where it isn't fun anymore on the weekends. I went on a Tuesday this year and it was busy, but not wall to wall people. Be sure to visit the buildings for each New England State, the Mallory building for viewing farm animals, and the vendors in The Young Building and The Better Living Center. Also check out the entertainment schedule - on many nights there are concerts included with your ticket. The nightly parades are also fun. The Big E is a great fair to experience - be sure to go!

My favorite annual tradition The Big E is hands down one of the best fairs in New England! It's not just a fair--it feels like a tradition and a celebration of everything New England has to offer. The Avenue of States is a must-do--you can "visit" all six states in one day, each with its own unique flavors and specialties. From lobster roll in Maine, maple treats in Vermont, and of course, the famous Big E cream puff. The food is endless--fried dough, giant turkey legs, tacos & many many more.--you name it, they've got it. Between the live music, parades, farm animals, rides, and exhibitions, there's something for everyone, whether you're a kid or an adult, or an adult looking to unleash your inner kid! The fairgrounds are huge but well laid out, and even with the big crowds, it's surprisingly easy to navigate. What really makes The Big E stand out is the vibe--everyone is just out to have a good time, and you can feel that energy everywhere you go. It's an annual highlight and something I'd recommend to anyone, local or visiting. If you want the ultimate fair experience, The Big E in Springfield is the place to be!

I've been going to The Big E for the past 6-7 years, and while it can be pricey, I've learned it's really about the experience. This year, I went on a Wednesday night, after 6 PM, and it was perfect--no lines at all, which made everything so much more enjoyable. Food-wise, I finally tried the Maine baked potato and it was absolutely worth it--a solid 10/10 and surprisingly cheaper than many of the other options. Other highlights: Cider Donut from the Down East Cider stand, cheese curds, a Samoa cookie caramel apple, and steak tips with crushed potatoes. Everything was fresh, tasty, and definitely something you can't get every day. Yes, the fair is expensive, but going during the week and treating it as a special outing makes it well worth it. My advice? Forget the cost for a night, go for the experience, and try at least one new food each time you go. You won't regret it.

A tradition every year for us. We went twice and was pretty busy each time but just doesn't feel the same as it once did. We did however get to try some new items they had! It also wouldn't be a complete trip without seeing the annual Cabot butter sculpture, iykyk!!

The Big E is always a family favorite! We had a great time this year walking through the houses! The only downside was the parking staff. Usually parking is a docile process, this year most of the parking staff yelled at cars as they were trying to park and/or leave. While arriving the parking attendant yelled at us for cutting the wheel to the car, and while leaving we were yelled at not to go a specific way only to watch several cars make the same turn we were going to make. There are no signs and a lot of yelling. We most likely will not be parking in the Big E Lot next time we go to the fair.

Visit during the week, during Ct day on a Tuesday. Arrived around noon, not too bad for traffic, not too busy inside but got really busy within the hour. It was fun to take the little train for a ride. I just wish I took it as soon as we got in , just so we can see where everything is located . So many food choices, and drink choices. You get easily get overwhelmed . We enjoyed our beers, a mango and blueberry flavored, with cinnamon sugared rims. (look at the picture for the location). The polish bomb burger was different and tasty with really well seasoned fries. ( near gate 9) . The Ct baked potato was good and served in a nice and fun atmosphere! I also enjoyed my really good and refreshing blueberry lemonade from Maine pavilion! I just wished the pavilions were bigger with more walking space and better ventilation. We had lots of other food and drinks, but these were my top choices. Bring lots of money and patience!

What's not to love about the Big E Fair. It's the biggest fair in New England, runs for 17 days, and attracts over 1.6 million people. Some of many attractions are carnival rides, crafts, all kinds of new and different exhibits, agriculture livestock, giant vegetables, 4-H exhibits, farmers market, plenty of live music, and big name stars in concerts. There is a massive amount of food choices. Let just say anything imaginable or unimaginable is deep fried here. Yes you will probably hit traffic, be in long lines, and complain about the cost of everything. But it's worth it.

The Big Big E is the world's only multi-state fair, including all six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont; with a building dedicated to each. You can find vendors from those states all around selling different type of goods, there's also a carnival with rides, a circus, farm animals etc. Been coming here for years, it's held for 17 days every year from another the 2nd Friday in September to the last Sunday. I recommend bringing cash. I always park in some one's lot outside for an easier exit. I would avoid the last day, as it gets extremely crowded with long lines. I also recommend coming earlier in the day and on a weekday if you can. Coming here has become a family tradition that is loved by members all ages.

How much money should a person bring with them to spend?

It honestly depends on what you are planning to do/eat. Most food items are $10 or more each. And there are tons of shopping opportunities, rides and games. For me and my 2 kids I spent $250 for the entire day. But you can definitely spend as… Read more

We spent a very nice hour and a half strolling the grounds of the Storrowton Village Museum today…read more It's not a museum in the traditional sense, but rather a reconstructed village of 18th and 19th century buildings from Massachusetts and New Hampshire plopped down around a traditional town green. It reminded me a lot of what I remember seeing in Colonial Williamsburg or Old Sturbridge Village. The green has a big gazebo, and we saw a family taking graduation pictures there. The gazebo is also a popular location for wedding photos. It's located on the grounds of Eastern States Exposition, sort of on the fringe of the Big E. The buildings around the town green have an interesting history- they were all purchased, disassembled, transported, and then rebuilt on site. A sign in front of each building has a QR code so you can read up on its history. Here are some of the buildings we saw - Phillips House - Built in 1767 in Taunton, Massachusetts with hand-hewn oak sills and beams, hand-forged nails, and hand-shaped bricks. This is the village's administrative office and gift shop. Union Meeting House - Built in 1834 in Salisbury, New Hampshire. Religious services were held here, so you'll see pews of unpainted pine, a choir gallery, and a white paneled pulpit. A gorgeous steeple with a clock and bell were added during the rebuild. The building can be rented out for weddings. North Center School - Built around 1810 in Whately Massachusetts as a one room schoolhouse. The brick building has blackboards on all four walls. The museum hosts quite a bit of their educational youth programs here. Clark Blacksmith Shop - Built out of granite around 1850 in Chesterfield, New Hampshire. It was deconstructed stone by stone for its move to Massachusetts. Today it serves as a classroom for a blacksmith program and is a popular tourist attraction during the Big E where folks can see the blacksmiths put their forge and bellows in action. Potter Mansion -You'd expect any building named a mansion to be impressive, but before I get to describing the building, let me say or word or two abut the gent who lived there. Captain John Potter was an officer in the Revolutionary War and he built the house for his fifteen children from two wives. Now THAT'S impressive. The mansion was built in 1776 in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, and construction lasted ten years. You'll see all sorts of ornamental woodworking, a parlor, a dining room, and a kitchen with an oversized hearth, brick bake oven, and pine cabinetry. Gilbert Farmstead - Quiz time! Ever hear of anyone with the first name of "Peletiah"? Yeah, I thought not. Anyway, Pell Gilbert and his brother Levi built the farmhouse in 1794 in West Brookfield, Massachusetts. It has some very interesting construction features, like hand-hewn timbers, wrought iron hardware and nails, wide wood plank floorboards, a granite sink, raised panel trim, and a scalloped corner cabinet in the parlor. Eddy Law Office- Built in 1810 in Middleboro, Massachusetts. It's a small professional office building typical of the style of the day -one or two rooms. The building has a distinctive curved roof. The Tavern - Built around 1789 in Prescott, Massachusetts and originally known as the Atkinson Tavern. Here's a cool piece of trivia about Prescott - it doesn't exist today! Prescott and three neighboring towns were claimed by the Commonwealth of MA to be flooded and became the Quabbin Reservoir. In its hay day, the tavern hosted dances and town meetings upstairs and a store and taproom downstairs. Today, the building is the home of the Storrowton Tavern and traditional New England. If you go there for dinner, check out the granite hitching posts outside. The museum offers a heaping portion of history, education, photo ops, and plain old coolness.

This theater is not just poorly run--it's dangerous and openly breaks laws. The owner discriminates against people with dietary restrictions and special needs, blatantly violating ADA regulations. Customers with medical conditions like Crohn's disease, allergies, or other dietary needs are forced to throw away or put away their safe foods, making it impossible to enjoy their experience. To make matters worse, she refuses refunds when asked and only offers useless coupons--even though most people who endure her mistreatment have no intention of returning. The reason I'm leaving this review is because of how horribly she treats customers--even after you spend $100+ on a trip with your family. If you bring a snack from outside for yourself or a disabled child, even when you're already paying for theater snacks, she makes it an issue. This is ridiculous and overstepping. As a customer, it's none of her business if we bring a specific snack for a medical or personal reason, especially when it's justified and necessary. What makes this even worse is the owner's constant claims that she's running a "small mom-and-pop business." But her behavior is anything but. She acts more like a dictator than a community-focused small business owner. By degrading and harassing customers, she's giving small businesses a bad name. This is not how a true small business should treat people. On top of that, she manipulates her business's reputation by posting fake reviews. For every negative review, several fake positive ones suddenly appear, written by obvious bots. This is a deliberate attempt to mislead the public and cover up how horribly this theater is run. The theater itself feels abandoned and neglected, with stale food, unprofessional staff, and an overall uncomfortable atmosphere. It's not just a bad experience--it's downright concerning. If you've been mistreated at this theater, especially if you were forced to throw away your snacks due to special dietary needs or denied a refund, FILE A REPORT. Contact the ADA, the Better Business Bureau, the health department, and local consumer protection agencies. Consider reaching out to local news stations to bring attention to these serious issues. This theater should not be allowed to continue operating under such shady and illegal practices. Stay away, warn others, and take action!
