Worked with The Pyro Guy in conjunction with my general contractor to have a 70's stone fireplace removed and replaced with a modern linear unit. I had my general demo the fireplace and from there Rian came in and helped me determine what was the best go forward plan based on my budget, timing, and HOA restrictions. He was great in giving me multiple options and I never felt pressured to go any specific way, regardless of price. I ended up selecting the Modern Flames Orion Slim- and let me tell you it has been my favorite feature in my house. The flames are very realistic, the cracking sounds are great- and the color options/app make the experience even better. The installation process went well- they were great in working with my HOA's requirements on having a permit with the city and color matching the chimney chase cover. The only downfall in the process was that the price went up due to unforeseen difficulties with my electric wiring however there was no way for them to know that when they first gave me the initial quote. Rian was a nice enough young man who sold us our fireplace. Soon as I put down the down payment, the red flags started raising up. First, they sent an electrician who was unlicensed to do the work. This very same electrician was supposed to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 and decided to come at 10:30. Second, Rian charge $395 for a permit. He said it would arrive electronically. We went to the city and found out that no permit was ever issued. Third, they want to charge $395 for a permit that in reality only cost $60. We kept the fireplace, but voided the contract. Now comes forth.... As we took the fireplace out of the box and try to assemble the frame, the frame parts did not match. We called modern flames and they were kind enough to say they would send us a new, workable frame. Whatever you do, do not do business with the pyro guy. read more

Rian and his team completely refaced our fireplace with new tile, new mantle, new doors, new gas log insert with lava rock and painted the inside of the fire box.
