If I could only give half stars. Really, this is a solid 2 and a half star place. It has the now ubliqutous gambling machines (3 of em!) as well as a well-stocked bar. We dropped in for a quick dinner having tried the place before. The service was a little on the slow side. The food prices are fine, but the quality - meh, I've had better. The angus burger was well done. Who the heck cooks a burger well done (other than Five Guys, and their burger is at least juicy) unlike this one, which was kind of dry. Our Water Aerobics group had a Holiday lunch today at the NEW 'The Pub'. There were 8 of us, and we had a very well-cooked and served selection of foods from the Bar/Pub menu. The new owner, Bob, made us feel welcome, and went out of his way to chat with us. We sampled a variety of the menu choices: burgers, poor boy, chicken tenders, fish sandwich, and sides of fries, onion rings, fried pickles. All were very fresh and well-cooked/seasoned. Generous portions allowed for take-home, too. This is indeed a 'cozy' pub: rather like hanging out in a refinished basement bar or a European corner tap. It is a nice ambiance during a quiet lunch time! Karaoke is available on Saturday night, and live music on Friday nights. Specials change daily and are posted. Prices are very reasonable. It was posted they were open till 12/1 on Fridays and Saturdays, the bartender announced last call at 10:45 in a Friday. Their slogan is "come as a stranger, leave as a friend" and it's accurate! The manager is super friendly, the bartender is sassy and playful. The burgers are great. Even the other customers are nice and in a good mood. I've passed through here twice and both times someone else picked up my check! The place has a nice local bar feel. I was in on a Tuesday evening after 8pm. Not to busy, mostly locals. I would have given them 4 stars except for the fact that they didn't have a very big selection of IPA's. They have a decently stocked bar and should be able to make most drinks. I ordered the fish and chips for dinner. Not bad, far from authentic, but not bad. The 'chips' were waffle fries which was unexpected for fish and chips. They were pretty good however so I enjoyed them nonetheless. The bartender was busy enough with the number of customers she had yet she was very pleasant and took my order quickly. My food came out relatively fast. The owner was there and came up to chit-chat with me which was a nice touch. I was in Morris on business looking for a place to eat before calling it a night and was pleased I found this one. Definitely will come in again when I'm in the area. read more
