This is so much more than a chicken shop or diner. It has a spacious dining area and a separate full bar area. During the summer there are live bands every weekend. During the winter they'll have live bands occasionally. Wait staff is excellent and food is delish. They've got basic bar fried foods, but they're always good! Don't miss the fried chicken on Wednesdays, fried fish on Fridays, prime rib on Saturday's! And don't forget the fresh homemade salad bar after five on Friday and Saturday nights! Hands down my fave is the shrimp dinner. Tastes like fresh gulf shrimp. You can't go wrong! Desserts are always top notch if you saved room. Road trip over Easter Weekend to visit our daughter and the grand-babies. She's a few miles away from here and we went in on a whim. Saturdays are their Prime Rib special days and oh boy what a treat. The prime was an excellent portion size and comes with your choice of potato and salad bar too. Cannot recommend enough the Prime! Flavorful and cooked to perfection. Decent selection of drinks available. Table left full and happy. One unique thing I didn't notice until I went by the bar and to the bathroom is that the front area is for family dining and then they have a good size bar for the gay male community. Didn't quite expect to see that in the area but commend the diversity. The music. By the bar area was high energy but didn't seem to bleed too much into the restaurant patron area. Almost like a leather all male nightclub you could imagine in the big cities. They have specials everyday too and looks like Tuesday is taco Tuesday so going to take the wife there while we're still in town. Great find and great food! read more

Stopped in for dinner, around 6:15pm., had a drink, ordered an appetizer, loaded nachos they were average. Put our dinner order in. After 2 more drinks, learned our dinner order wasn't put in. It's now 8:15pm. We got an apology, but we are 30 minutes from home, waiting 30/45 minutes more minutes for dinner. 45 minutes later, Disaster! Even though we've been here numerous times, can't recommend to anyone to ever come here ! We've been here many times, this is horrible! Manager/Owner, asked what could be done?? She offered no options other than to say sorry. HORRIBLE, will never be back! They normally host bands we love, but will not be back. read more

My wife and I havent been here in a few years. We went out for dinner on a Saturday night and got there at 5:45. Pulled into the lot seeing a sign that said "Under New Management". We came out wanting a burger (which in the past was great). We walked into the dining room and sat down. The owner was sitting in a booth chatting with friends, no acknowledgement, we sat down in a booth, and waited......, and waited......, and waited..... After 5 minutes we were about to leave, and the waitress/bartender came out... We asked what they had on tap.... nothing! What bar doesnt have any beer on tap these days?? So my wife got iced tea, and I got a bottled beer. The bartender dropped off our drinks and gave us 2 menus.... Another 5 minutes pass, and just as I was about to throw money on the table and leave, she showed up. My wife and I had already decided we were gonna order an appetizer and blow this place . Well our nachos showed up 5 minutes later... Ground beef, canned melted cheese, lettuce and tomatos. Thank god for the jalepenos, as that was the only flavor it had.... And when the owner dropped off the nachos, she had trouble separating the paper plates that we were to eat off... Paper plates?? What is this a backyard church BBQ? Save yourself the time and trouble, its not what it was when Swede (the previous owner) had the place. read more

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible!! The only people who could possibly rate this place any more than one star have to be related!!! 2 of the 4 of us in the group ordered a ribeye steak and shrimp dinner and were asked (like normal) how we liked it cooked and I responded medium rare and another guest ordered theirs medium. Why even bother, the sliver of meat was embarrassingly pathetic!!! Literally 3/16 thick!!! Both of ours. I mean come on, seriously?!?! You put that on the grill for a second per side and it's fully cooked!! Credit to the chef on his sharp knife because it had to take some serious talent to cut a steak that thin, let alone two! I've been to some very simple hotdog joints in the city of Chicago that have done a way better job than that for a fraction of the cost. This was sooo bad that I couldn't even acknowledge the waitress when she came back and asked how everything was! 4 people and 2 kids for $139..... you should be ashamed of yourselves!!! Never coming back! Stay away! Quality of food was garbage, and drinks completely watered down as well!! Literally nothing good about this place. Went there on Wednesday at 5:30 PM with my wife and one other person for their chicken special. We were first told that most of the tables were reserved and there were only raised tables available. We told them we were seniors and we couldn't sit at those tables. We found a table in the corner that was suitable. We placed our order at 5:36 PM. At 6:30 PM, our order was still not ready even after asking the waitress and telling her earlier that I had to leave at that time. When I once again asked about our orders, the waitress told me that a lot of people were ordering chicken. My wife observed that 3 other couples who arrived after us had already received their chicken dinners. I left the restaurant and the others finally received their orders at 7:00 PM. When given the bill, my wife questioned two upcharges that were not mentioned when the order was placed. Our waitress gave no reason for not telling us when our orders were placed. We were not offered any apologies or given any discounts. It appears that their regular customers were served first. Totally unacceptable treatment and service!! read more

We went on a Wednesday night, around 5:30 and in the eating area, there was only one other table seated. So, I was a bit surprised that the very delicious sandwiches were just lukewarm. The "fries" there are not the norm at all. They are slightly twisted cuts that are just so good. The "chips" are not the bagged kind, but made there too. I had been watching the postings of the specials online, so was very disappointed that there were only 2 that night, and not so special. Turkey po'boy, and chicken salad sandwich.....ho-hum. My boyfriend Terry and I like to come here on a Friday night. They have nightly specials but Friday is the only time we can both make it together as to the fact that I work midnights. The Friday special is 2 or 3 pieces of cod or a shrimp dinner. Fried or grilled. The 2 dinners are fantastic! He gets the cod and I get the grilled shrimp. Each dinner comes with waffle fries, regular fries or homemade pub chips. They also come with 3 hush puppies and 3 corn fritters and a full salad bar which is awesome! The food and service has always been fast and fantastic! We've both also enjoyed the garlic butter hoagie and the hangover burger which consists of a burger just the way you like with bacon, cheese and a fried egg including all the sides. There's always a pretty decent crowd for dinner and drinks. I highly recommend giving it a try. Neither one of us have ever been disappointed. There's also plenty to take home.
