I have never been more disappointed in a restaurant within the first 5 minutes of arriving. There was a neighborhood car show; so Fergy's was very busy. My dad and I decided to get some burgers after a long day's work. The bartenders are the waiters, and a female bartender was the rudest of all. She was extremely impatient, snubbed us and had an attitude in doing so. Her facial expressions alone, when I asked for her to take our order, was priceless and spoke volumes. ​This attitude came across from multiple bartenders, so we left. Maybe if we were wearing Harley, Davidson, clothing or ALLBLK, we would have gotten better attention than wearing white and pastels. We ended up going to Marseilles Family Restaurant. Great little hole in the wall bar. Been going for a few years but this year (2024) it has changed. The food is bar food and it's kind of good and then again it's not. To each his own. Been a minute since I ate here. And it was just as perfect as I remember. The blue moon burger was cooked to perfection, juicy, tasty...everything you want in a burger. My friend and I also shared the loaded fries. We were not disappointed. The ratio of cheese, bacon, and grilled onions to fries was exactly how it should be. No dry fries! Cook wasn't wearing any gloves, saw him SNEEZE in my burger, GROSS. When I disputed this the OWNER apparently jack Ferguson told me that I needed to leave, sorry I was just looking for a restaurant in town I could get a burger that wasn't sneezed in??? Forced me to leave AFTER I paid for the food I didn't get because he was "so offended" I'll never be back again, avoid at all costs, something just isn't right here, don't be a victim. EDIT : after reading some reviews I guess the way to go is to be a regular, sorry I'm not from this town, the word on the street is the sketchiness comes from the drugs sold here. I'm not surprised. Also if you're looking for the bartenders from the previous reviews don't bother, they only stick around until the owner tries to sleep with them so the server staff is a revolving door. read more

We have coming to fergies for years. Went again last night. Food was terrific as always. Like to go on Fridays because they serve townhouse chicken. It's amazing. We had Kristie as our server. She was very attentive and the place was crazy busy. Nice to see the great turnout just like before the pandemic. Will be back! read more

Food here is typical Bar food I have had better. Dark dinning environment. Maybe so you can't really see what your eating. My friend found a dead fly on his burger. He told the waitress and she just basically shrugged it off like it was nothing. No relief on the bill or an apology. read more

Good service by the bartender. Drinks were reasonably priced. Went here around Halloween so they had some cool decorations up. They have some slot machines as well. They have a food menu which I did not try but will probably try next time. There is one coin operated pool table, an electronic dart board, and a shuffleboard table. read more

Fergys is great local bar and grill. It is located right on the Main Street in Seneca and has free street parking. There is limited outdoor seating. Kids are welcome, I believe as long as it is before 9:00pm. They have daily specials that are available on their Facebook Page. They are well known for the Townhouse Chicken and Burgers. The burgers are fabulous! I have been to Fergy's many times and have had many different menu items....everything is delicious. They have a full bar and the bartenders are wonderful, especially Tammy. Great customer service. Great place to watch a game, play a slot, pool, shuffleboard. The owner, Jack is usually in and out. Take a moment to say, "Hi." They also have special events that can be found on their Facebook Page, such as Karaoke Nights, Magicians, Customer Appreciation Days, etc. read more

Small little bar and grill in Seneca, IL. Some friends and I use this as a stopping place when in the area. It's your typical small town bar and grill with cold beer and friendly service. The food is pretty good too. This last time we ordered pizza which we doesn't know was ordered from a local pizza joint. It was quite good. The mac and cheese bites are best appetizer on the menu! Great Friday night fish fry, shrimp is fantastic! This is the only reason we come. Service on the other hand.... I've had better service in the city on a Saturday at a club. Now I'm not expecting them to roll out the red carpet. But in off season you walk into a bar not busy bartenders look directly at you, walks into the kitchen doorway stands talking to the cook 20 min doesn't acknowledge you. Every time we've been here it's the way they act. No we are not from Seneca, but we have a summer place and a boat down here so we are here April-November. It's a small town that thrives not on regulars but on outsiders. Today we were down there enjoying one of the last good weekends. Decided to grab some food for take out. We tip very well, even on to go orders! I just walked out. I come from Chicago to a small quant town for friendly smiles and warm service. What a shame! read more

Wow... We were there about a year ago and the food was amazing. I bragged about this place and knew we would have a game down here tonight. What a disappointment. I was embarrassed. Only 1 server. She was new and did her best. We basically served ourselves. We we're set as a LG group in the back room by ourselves with boxes and old Halloween decorations. No one got served at the same time. We were apologized to for the group of 14 I brought here at least 10 times. I bragged about this place. Never again. We won't be back. I was so embarrassed... The cooks apologized as well as the one server for the poor service. And the food was mediocre at best... read more

Cheap drinks, nice quiet patio and super friendly bartender! They were really busy and I think our ticket got lost in the kitchen, but she was very apologetic and even bought us a round of drinks for our trouble (although we really didn't mind... we were enjoying great weather and conversation). If I could rate this zero stars I would. My friends and I came here to try out the Thai Tuesday, unfortunately for us we left with hungry stomachs. We waited in the dining section for over an hour and no one came to greet us, ask if we want drinks or food. We had to resort to even order our drinks at the bar. Service was terrible. Waited 2 1/2 hours and never did receive our dinner we ordered. The waitress said she didn't know what happened but they never made our food and that she was sorry. Sadly I must have to give a bad review for Fergy's. I came in there on Saturday, May 19th to get a few beers and something to eat. There was only 1 busy bartender. When I came up to the bar to order approximately 12-14 people (evidently from a wedding) came in a minute or two later. Another person came in with the group and went behind the bar and started mixing drinks for the group. The first bartender assisted her, ignoring everyone else including me and some others sitting at the bar. Some patrons at the bar left and a couple that came in with the group sit down and immediately got served. The rest of us were completely ignored again. This time period was about 10 minutes. Since is was apparent that I (and some others) were never going to get served I left and went across the street to another bar. Got served right away. Then some others that had been at the wedding came in. Apparently they were tired of waiting too and came there for drinks. Drinks were good along with fresh salsa and very crisp, warm chips. Will be going there (The Sandlot) from now on. read more

Just a tavern in an all but abandon farm town. If you stop in just get a beer and skip the food. The food is saturated in grease and disappointing. I guess if you're a local you have limited choice and don't know better. If you are passing through I recommend driving to the next town. read more

Its "ok" to stop for a drink, the food is fine "nothing special" the owner boasts about himself and claims to have the best burger around, I would disagree. I had fun there, but that had more to do with the company I was in than the place. It's a bar, not much more else to say. read more
