The food here is amazing! The burgers are juicy and the tater tots are crispy but soft inside. The side salad was delicious.

Interesting place with bar food and a decent atmosphere. I was warned that service was slow, but that wasn't the case sat down and placed my order and had my appetizer in 8 minutes. Hot and fresh. Only problem is that the cheese sauce has a film and was like water. It was scorching hot though. The burger was good sized, hot, and juicy. I wish that they offered to cook it to a temp other than mid-well. Over all, this place is fine. Nothing fancy, you get what you pay for. If I were in town again, I'd stop in again. Just a note. They charge a 3% surcharge if you pay by credit card. It's not noted anywhere with signage. It's not on the menu in fine print. It shows up on your bill. I've heard people say that "if you can't afford to tip, don't eat out. Well if you have to charge people a surcharge to pay by credit card, then don't open a restaurant. We used to be regulars at Dock Rotz Tavern, but after multiple experiences like this, we won't be returning. My husband enjoys playing music on the TouchTunes jukebox, and like any paying customer, he simply wanted to hear what he was paying for. The volume was consistently kept so low that it made the experience frustrating. He politely asked--on more than one occasion--if it could be turned up slightly and even offered to pay extra. Each time, he was told by waitstaff they were not allowed to accept money from him to adjust it, which was surprising in itself. What made this even more frustrating is that there were times the bar was nearly empty and it still wasn't adjusted. In a bar setting--with normal ambient noise--being able to hear the music you're paying for shouldn't be an unreasonable request. What made it worse was the tone and treatment. There was one bartender in particular who was consistently unfriendly toward him, and when he calmly asked what the issue was, she told him he "walks in like he owns the place and makes demands." That statement was both unnecessary and inaccurate. He has always been respectful and has never done anything to warrant that kind of response. At a certain point, it stopped feeling like a simple difference in preference and started feeling personal. We were left feeling unwelcome--something no customer should ever experience. When my husband finally said, "We're not coming back," the response he received was simply, "Good," delivered in a contemptuous tone. That moment said everything. It's unfortunate, because we genuinely liked this place and gave it multiple chances. But in any customer service business, respect isn't optional--it's the standard. No one should be treated that way. No one. In the end, it wasn't the music that drove us away--it was the way we were treated. read more

This was way better than the last time we visited. The food was really good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The restaurant has a casual cool vibe and the servers are good. One weird observation and I'm not sure it's a big deal; quite a bit of the staff is walking around dressed like they just came out of the gym. And not nice gym clothes, the type you wear when you do two-a-days and you end up leaving them behind in the gym bc they'll never be clean enough to wear again. Stopped at Dock Rotz the other night for dinner. There were 2 options of areas to sit in and I should have opted for the bar side. The other side of the restaurant is a large open room and seating is a little strange. There was also a large table with a lot of very loud kids than made the area pretty horrible. I ordered a Pinot girio for my drink. For dinner I had a Philly cheesesteak with tots and cheese sauce. The cheesesteak lacked a cheesy taste but the meat and peppers had good flavor. The tots were good but the cheese sauce was very thin and not a lot. Not sure I would return but not a bad option. It seems like this part of Minooka has a lot of very similar restaurants all in the same area. So for bar food options I might go to one of the other close by options. read more

Hello! I would like to start off by saying the food was Excellent. The service however was Horrible, the worst I have ever had. My family and I were yelled at several times by a lady with short blonde hair named Trish. Our party had 18 people in it. While we were getting seated, they sat us at 4 different tables, which was totally fine! Then a server suggested we combine all the tables and we were like Great, we can do this ourselves. While we were in the process doing so, Trish came up to our table and extremely rudely said, " What are you guys doing? You can't do this.". We said a server told us to do this. Trish said, "No, we cant do this". Ok. Not a big deal. We arrived 15min after they opened on their St. Patricks day event and by my surprise it was not extremely busy. Our sever was nice, but not very attentive. It seemed like she might have been in the weeds and no one was helping her even though there were several employees at the host stand standing around. We ordered several cocktails, apps, and entrees which were all delicious. The restraunt was was slowly getting busier, but several opened tables. A women named Patricia asked if she could use two chairs for another party and we said of course. Patricia was delightful! My daughter arrived a little later and the rest of the party just received their food. She ordered nachos and the sever put them down right infront of her and as she was about to take her first bite, Trish walked up to the table and said, " You can't eat here, I need this table and it was reserved." My mouth literally it the floor! This is the table that was given to us when we first arrived. Trish then again said, "I need it now and it's reserved ". My entire party and my self were just Disgusted by this staff members behavior and how extremely rude she was. I have never in my life been treated like this. I have been going to Doc Rotz for years, and I still can't believe this happened. My entire party spent hundreds of dollars in this establishment and I am still speechless. This is actually my first time writing a review of this caliber and I hope I never have to do it again. I really hope the owner speaks with Trish and their other staff members! I've been here 3 or 4 times since making this review. This place is amazing! It might not look appealing on the outside but on the inside, it's a whole different vibe. Inside is small but it's really comfortable! It's got an outdoor patio area as well. Employees here are friendly. Great selection on tap. Prices are fair. The patrons that come here are great. There's always great parking too! I've gotten some food here, as much it may take a while to make. The food is made really well. They have great daily specials as well. read more

We were in the area for a Chiropractor appointment at dinnertime, so we stopped in. I got the margarita flight with blood orange, chipotle pineapple,coconut., and raspberry. The blood orange was the best...although all of them were extremely sweet!!! Ugh... I ordered the fish dinner . It had a bread crumb crispy batter. I do prefer a beer batter ( as long as it's crispy and not to thick) . It came with 4 small pieces of cod. I ended up asking if they could make one piece with a beer batter ( apparently they make the fish tacos with beer breading)...it was MUCH better! Hubby got the chicken sandwich. He loved it. So we tried this place on a Saturday afternoon. Wasn't crowded. #1: walking through the place the floors were disgustingly sticky. The kind that sounds like your shoe just stepped in a glue trap. Yuck. You could see where spills had been and not addressed. #2: my menu arrived in the same fashion as the floor. Sticky and covered with food. Yuckkkk #3: as if #1 and #2 didn't already set the tone, we didn't see a waitress for over ten minutes. Employees walked by, no one said a word. We got up and left. There's not many places in town where you can get a good lunch, but Dock Rotz is always our go-to. Their lunch menu is a great value and we always get the Dock Burger and fries with whatever seasonal beer that they have on tap. I was leery at first to try the "dock cheese" sauce on my burger instead of regular cheese but DO NOT MISS THE DOCK CHEESE! It is amazing! They have some other perty good daily specials but as a craft beer guy this is just dangerous. Pros- - they have a kitchen that puts out some perty good food. Had a disappointing experience with the food on my most recent visit. I had the fish dinner and the fish sticks were extremely fishy tasting. I am doing my best to support local businesses during the Covid pandemic but I can not deny the terrible time we had here tonight. My boyfriend and I came only for drinks. When we arrived, the bartender tried talking over me to determine why we were there. She guessed: take-out and dine-in only for me to finally share we were there for drinks, only. She handed us the menu and when we tried ordering 2 drinks off the menu, she said they were out of them, yanked the menu back, crossed out 4-5 beers and gave it back to us. Shouldn't these have been crossed out prior to us sitting down? She was clearly overwhelmed and irritated with her bartending responsibilities and made it audibly clear to anyone willing to listen. She claimed to one person that she had been working since 10am and her back hurt (it was 8:00pm) and to another how tired and fed-up she was. Meanwhile, she claimed she'd be laid off tomorrow due to Covid. The bartender continued to complain the entire time we were there. She decided, suddenly, at 8:30pm to close the bar. When we asked another bartender why they were closing, the bartender admitted that was the first she'd heard of the bar closing so early. We asked if the woman calling the closing was the manager and the bartender said, "I think she is tonight, I don't know." Wow. Shocked, my boyfriend and I confronted the original bartender (a.k.a the manager, apparently). She admitted to closing early because she "said so". We told her that in the face of a government shutdown, we thought it was bogus that she was closing early, thereby not giving her staff a chance to make more money that night. She ignored our concerns and continued to order her staff to lower the music and call last-call. People are facing having no job in the face of this terrible pandemic. This complaining, inconsiderate bartender should have no ability to make the decision to close early while patrons are still coming in just because her back hurts and is stressed working over 10 hours. read more

Just terrible. Wanted a quick lunch & it was over 2 hours. Pretty sure they forgot we existed. I'd never go back. Wish we would have just paid for our 1 drink and left. As soon as we questioned where our appetizer was (waited an hour) magically all of our food appeared. Most of which was cold. Disappointing.
