The Food was served Buffet style. The Ribs were great. The meat fell off the bone. The Barb-Q sauce was both sweet and zesty. The grill Chicken had a great taste not over dine nice and juicy and Hot. There was so much more to offer. The service was good too. Our server kept our drinks filled all the time and asked several times how we were doing. The Ambiance is quite different too. Turtles everywhere. Kinda 50 to 60's dining room. Would fit right in if it was on Route 66. Highly recommend!!!

    Amazing smokehouse ribeye

We have been coming back this place for YEARS!! The smokehouse ribeye is a favorite on the menu for my husband and I! The house salad with house dressing is to die for! The margaritas and fancy yummy specialty drinks are top notch!! We travel an hour once a month to fill our addiction for this resturant and will continue to do just that!

Nice salad and breadsticks served with my order

Okay on everything. Nothing special. Salad and bread sticks are popular. The turtle is a center piece.

Good food, and good, friendly service. We have enjoyed every visit here. Pork chops and "pig wings" are a favorite.

I have gone to Turtles a few times on the recommendation of friends. But I haven't liked anything except the chicken.

Sat for 20 minutes without anyone even taking our drink order. Listened to the customers behind us complain about their wait. Walked out.

Now, having a restaurant option that is 5 minutes away is a welcome treat. We went in on a Wednesday evening. It was late, probably too late to take our kiddo out, but this time of year is busy. After a day full of school and sports, we needed dinner. Papa Magoos was on our way home, so we gave it a shot. I walked in and almost immediately wanted to leave. It was 8 p.m. on a Wednesday night, there were maybe 15 people in the restaurant area, and there was a DJ blasting tunes loud enough that you couldn't have a conversation at your own table. Kind of an odd play for a Wednesday night, but maybe I'm just too old. Fortunately, we asked the waitress if we could sit in the side room with some video games - a much quieter area. Another couple had their kids there and all of the kids bonded over the hockey table. Service was great - our waitress was very attentive, honest about recommendations, and didn't steer us wrong. For an appetizer, we started with cheese curds paired with their ranch, buffalo, and marinara. Let me tell you - the cheese curds were a solid 8 out of 10 - but the portion size was huge. It's by far the largest order of curds we have ever received. I almost wished it was smaller because they were so good we ate the whole order - and it was just too much! All of the sauces were delicious. After those curds, my wife and I decided to split eight wings and fries, and the kiddo got a hot dog off of the kids menu. The bone-in the wings were served naked, as in just fried with skin on - no breading. The wings were enormous - and after those curds, we ate only two. We got four tossed in buffalo and four plain, with Garlic Parmesan and Mango Habanero on the side. The buffalo is a bit nontraditional looking, but it's excellent. The Mango Habanero was also nontraditional looking, but it was decent as well - but don't expect a lot of heat; it's sweeter, and the buffalo was hotter. The Garlic Parm was my least favorite, but it wasn't bad. We had to order a basket of fries on the side - which was entirely too much, but the fries are really good - straight cut, done a bit well and topped with some kind of salty seasoning and parsley. The kid's hot dog was not bad - it was served on a bun that was just a bit too big and fancy for my 6-year-old, and the hot dog itself was either overcooked or had a tough skin that I had to cut with a knife for him. Either way, it tasted good and came with a generous portion of fries. Two fountain drinks, a water, and a 20% tip came out to $60. It's not the cheapest, but that's the world we live in today. I could have saved $8 or so by not getting the huge order of fries with the wings. I've been taking a break from alcohol for a bit - but I did notice they had a slightly above par selection of craft beer on draft. Mostly IPAs, but at least it's not just Green Line from Goose. They had selections from Buckle-Down, Lagunitas, Revolution, and cans from Will County, among others. Don't worry, all your favorite macro lagers are here too. Papa Magoos definitely exceeded expectations - and I'll be back to try different things on the menu. Bonus that it's a short drive away in an area that is pretty much a desert of restaurant
