Walked in on a Monday afternoon and went into their bar area. Sat at the bar near another patron halfway through their dinner. Sat there for over 5 minutes without anyone saying anything to me before I finally just walked out. They might try to claim that maybe they didn't see me because the bar area is slightly enclosed. This is false because a couple of times a waitress walked into that area to pour a drink for someone else, right in front of me. They saw me there, no drink or menu, and just kept going. read more

I ordered a grilled cod sandwich and the Cod didn't even cover 1/2 the bun. There couldn't have been much more than 2 oz of Cod on a 5" bun. It looked so sad. Not even a pc of lettuce or anything. We were all laughing about it. It was embarrassing to the waitress when I asked about it. They should take it off the menu if that's what you get. Very disappointing. I'm not sure what it cost but it was worth the light that we had. The service was good and the place was fine, the food was a joke. Stopped at McD on the way home to get something to eat. The Food was served Buffet style. The Ribs were great. The meat fell off the bone. The Barb-Q sauce was both sweet and zesty. The grill Chicken had a great taste not over dine nice and juicy and Hot. There was so much more to offer. The service was good too. Our server kept our drinks filled all the time and asked several times how we were doing. The Ambiance is quite different too. Turtles everywhere. Kinda 50 to 60's dining room. Would fit right in if it was on Route 66. Highly recommend!!! read more

I haven't visited Turtles since I was very young when we used to come for family dinners. So I was a returning customer. This family oriented, fine dining establishment was a cornerstone of our family when I was growing up. How does Turtles stack up in the present? The waitress was really attentive and nice, served our table and several others well. They seemed pretty short-staffed (I only saw our waitress, and the hostess who was also waiting tables). Though we weren't there during dinner. I got the hamburger, pretty good overall, Turtles has a unique and distinctive flavor. The fries were a little underdone and room temperature, could have been warmer. Personally, I've never liked the fries, and this visit wasn't about to change my mind. We also got the breadsticks (which were actually really good, but see, they were warm) and the mini tacos as appetizers. The mini tacos were pretty hot, but tasted like they were picked up at the store. My mother got the chicken tenders and they ruined her appetite. These were offensive. She had a lot to say about the taste and the texture. Additionally, the honey mustard, which she had gotten as a sauce, was terrible, and made her regret picking Turtles for lunch. She pleaded with us desperately, "I'm sorry for picking Turtles for lunch!" as though we were going to hold this poor experience against her for the rest of our lives. Our waitress tried to apologize incessantly for the chicken, but still charged us at the end. She offered to put something else on for us (which we probably would have also been charged for), but my mother's appetite was already squandered. She eventually opted to send her chicken back and just ate her tater tots, refusing to say anything more, staring wistfully at the plate. And she didn't even finish them. The ambiance is casual, but not upscale. If you're thinking about wearing your Sunday best, forget about it. Or even coming on a Sunday. Though I don't know if they're open. The wait time for the food was pretty long, especially considering we were one of very few tables after the initial opening (11:00 AM). When I was a kid, this place used to be magical, but unfortunately, Turtles has lost its stroke. It hasn't changed in thirty years. They couldn't even fill the old wishing pond at the front, it sits there bone dry, with people's dreams, personified by denominations of coins, along the bottom. I wanted to make a wish, but I realized that the desolation was overwhelming and pervasive. There's no Turtles spirit anymore. Only a hollow imitation. As we were walking out, we were greeted with a pond outside. It happened to be lightly drizzling the day we came. Where the sidewalk meets the front entrance must be the lowest point in the entire parking lot, since that's where all the water congregates. Not very handicap accessible, or good if you're wearing open shoes. So if you want your wishing pond, there it is. I thought about dropping a coin, maybe to wish that Turtles would go back to what it used to be, but I decided against it and kept walking. read more

We have been coming back this place for YEARS!! The smokehouse ribeye is a favorite on the menu for my husband and I! The house salad with house dressing is to die for! The margaritas and fancy yummy specialty drinks are top notch!! We travel an hour once a month to fill our addiction for this resturant and will continue to do just that! read more

We went to Turtles in Morris and found they have the BEST steak quesadilla that we have ever had. The service was above average and the food came quickly and was delicious. We had a side of hash browns that were cooked to perfection. There was actually enough food to feed moderately hungry adults. The drink specials were above average also. read more

My family went to turtles in Morris the day before Mother's Day and it was awful. The server was awful. She didn't give us enough silverware and plates for our salad. The steak was raw and my food was under cooked. One of us got very sick from his burger and had to leave right away. We spent $300. On that dinner and feel we will never go there again. Came here for late lunch/early dinner after my son's graduation. Walked in was not welcomed by anyone and waited for 10 plus minutes to be seated. My sisters and I went to Turtles last night. What a waste of time. Not only was the food only ok, the way they conduct business seems illegal. Their new system for using your debit/credit card is ONLY a scam. They have you sign for your receipt then run your card and then ADD a surcharge. So, what you think your total is, it is NOT. And to top that off, I ordered a watermelon margarita and was charged $.49 for the flavor. Ordered a side salad and was charged $.59 for the dressing. Visited this past weekend. I was not impressed by this restaurant at all. My aunt & cousin had previously been there and recommended it. Happened to be in the area so we stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner. Ordered wings for my 3 year old as she really enjoys wings when I make them at home. She was not a fan of these at all. She's used to air fried wings with seasoning. She didn't like the skin/coating on these so I had to peel the meat for her so she would eat it. I had a steak sandwich the waitress asked if I wanted mushrooms and onions and I said sure, only to find out on my bill it was an additional $1.50/each item. The steak was tough, and the entire sandwich lacked flavor even with the mushrooms and onions added and the it was served on the wrong bread. It should have been served on a French roll or something and it was served on a hamburger bun that soggy and disgusting. Another member of the party ordered fish & chips. She said it was okay, but would have preferred Long John Silvers. I can't remember what the other member of our party ordered. All our meals came with a salad. It was never mentioned we'd be getting a salad to share. Another thing that should probably be mentioned. Also the salad had some gross looking lettuce it in. We picked it out, but definitely not a good look. The skillet potatoes were honestly the best part of my lunch. I will not be going back to turtle tap. Been coming here for years. Food is hit and miss. Service is always friendly. Decor not so good lately. Sometime during the Covid initial stages, customers must have hurt the feelings of the staff. So they made a huge orange sign which seems to be a rant about customer behaviors they don't like. So if service is slow or food improperly prepared, they still expect a tip and if you want to complain, per the sign take a walk. If it was just me and I walked in seeing this sign, I would eat somewhere else. read more

Not sure I have ever given this low of a review but this restaurant is a nooo for me. From start to finish.. not good. Place was pretty much empty except for two tables. Stood at the hostess stand for quite some time and no one came. Noticed a lot of dirty tables. Finally a waitress came and brought us to our table. The table was sticky and two chairs had stuff on them so we had to switch them out. Ordered our food after waiting much too long. Salads came and the lettuce was wet and wilted. Ordered several things and after the food finally came, was very disappointed. Prices are way too high for the quality of this food. Burger was burnt and was supposed to be medium. One of us had a baked potato that was so small and hard. Was given two tiny and I do mean tiny butters and about a teaspoon of sour cream. Hamburger toppings were on a separate plate, a huge mound of pickles, more wilted lettuce and soooo much onion. It was all stuff they use in their salads and it was just thrown together. Quite a mess. One of us had a pizza and it was terrible and underdone. A couple next to us were visibly angry that they sat so long to get waited on. We will never be back. read more

We dropped in for dinner on a lark. The house salad is still pretty good, but some of the lettuce seemed a bit on the soft side (e.g., not very fresh). The main courses were fine - my steak was cooked to order, and I didn't need to add salt or pepper or anything else. The broasted potatoes weren't anything to write home (or here) about. They were okay. When I see broasted, I expect to see potatoes that are broasted, not cut into wedges, salted and baked. The service was s l o w. It was a Saturday night at around 7:00 pm. With as many servers as they have, I'd expect it to be faster. When my beer arrived, it was pretty much flat. So much for a fresh pull on a on-tap Samuel Adams Winter Lager. What a shame. My parents wanted to go here for Steak Monday. Didn't like it last time they took me here a few years back. So at least I wasn't disappointed. Wish I had held to my offer to grill steak at home. Salad was good (yep the house dressing is good). We were able to substitute the fresh vegetable (broccoli) for the potato and it was not a skimpy serving and was good. However, the steaks are so thin (okay flavor) that medium rare is just hard to accomplish. One side was fully cooked and the other just seared. They also seated us next to a table they were arranging for a large group. Really? So eat fast before we are cramped and can't converse. Luckily, the group arrived at the end of the meal. Found this little gem by accident! I was searching for somewhere close to home that had good wing and beer specials and found Turtle's! They have pretty amazing daily specials every day of the week and I have yet to try something I don't like here. It is decorated to the name with tons of turtles everywhere, even painted murals, which makes it one of my daughter's favorite places to eat! Thursday's are my favorite days with All you can eat wings and $1 draft beer. Went in to grab dinner and the hostess left us standing at the door for the longest time. Then she passes us and says that she has to find a waitress to take us. They weren't even busy at the time. She leaves and we watch her check someone out, run around and do other things then argues with people by the kitchen. We left. I have never had a hostess be that unprofessional and rude.
