Certainly explains why it gets busy. People only have a few choices and this is one of these. It's about $6 for a basic cocktail. Whole lot of great stuff including whiskey. It's about $5 to get appetizers. We got the Chips And Salsa. Has a lot of greasy fried things like wings and other meats. The menu is pretty standard as far as fried stuff. Has a lot of the basics. It's closed Sundays. That's pretty strange for them to lose out on all that revenue on weekends.

We called at 11:50 to place a carryout order and were told they weren't taking orders because the Bears were playing and they were busy. We'd literally just driven past, and there was plenty of parking unlike the last weekend we went there and you couldn't find a spot anywhere(they had no problem serving us carryout on this day). The kicker? They could serve us if we came inside because they had "plenty of available seating". We absolutely would've eaten there if we could, but our dog is highly reactive due to abuse at a shelter. That's why we always plan to eat at the picnic tables across the street. Zero notice on social media, no mention on the website. After 40 years of loyalty, we couldn't even get a simple carryout order. I understand restaurants get busy, but you don't build decades of customer loyalty just to leave people feeling like an inconvenience. It's a shame. Happened in on this wonderful "hometown " sports bar filled with local families and their kids. Ambiance is like the proverbial corner bar that has been updated with a wall of video monitors. The locals you could tell simply loved it. We sat at the bar and was helped by a very sweet and helpful waitress that not only shared her advice on the menu but had great information about the location of the local library and local hotels. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and a 6 wing bone in special with fries and BBQ sauce. My son ordered the boneless hot bacon wing special with fries. Both wings dishes were accompanied with carrots and celery along with house made ranch dressing. ( excellent dressing by the way.) My salad came with a deliciously creamy house made blue cheese dressing but lacked tomatoes. For that deficiency I score it a four. If you are in the area, this is a must try establishment.

After being in the old shuttered Blue Room, the building was purchased and revamped into a sports bar atmosphere. It has been purchased and sold a couple of times over the past few years, but each owner has kept the same tradition of having a good quality bar. I generally have patronized Cheapseats for the after work happy hour crowd. There is just something about sitting around after grinding the stone all day, shotting the bull, watching ESPN on the tv's throughout the bar and rocking out to classic rock and country on the jukebox. Throw in a quick appetizer and it's a good evening. The bar also has numerous arcade machines, pool table, and dart machine. If your not into the "bar atmosphere," Cheapseats also has a spacious dining area with a full regular menu, salad bar, and nightly dinner specials as well. The fried clams were also very tasty. I liked the briny taste of the Rhode Island oysters slightly more than the Maine ones. Lobster rolls were only $34 which was quite reasonable. All in all, our dinner including Column Like I See 'Em' American lager from White Oak Brewing in Normal, Illinois came to about $82 each including tip. They also feature local beers from Fairbury, Illinois. Lexington is just outside of Bloomington-Normal and about an hour from Champaign, Illinois.
