100% recommend these guys! We have an airb&b and the pump(s) for our pool had quit working. I called MULTIPLE electricians (because the company that cleans our pool said it was an issue with the breakers, not the pumps) The "electricians"........ - "well, if your breaker is trippin' it's doing what it's supposed to" Another, "I work under the table, can you pay me cash" Several others didn't bother returning my call or just said, "I don't work on pool equipment" If you want a knowledgeable, reliable, honest (& I don't trust many people), responsive, friendly, reasonably priced company that will get the job done, then give Cody a call and he'll send Charlie out to take care of what needs to be repaired. Charlie fixed a leak he discovered, got our pool lights working, wired the pump up to operate a waterfall feature we have & programmed everything on the timer to run more efficiently. I'll be calling Charlie for future repairs/maintenance! He also kept me informed via text as to what was going on or when he would arrive. Communication is important & he has that dialed in! These guys continue to provide excellent service and support. we had a heater failure recently with one phone call to Charlie, he decided what the problem was over the phone, came out with a replacement sensor and installed it. These guys are the real deal. Unbelievable in terms of knowledge, caring about you and your pool, and fair pricing. Vince is the full time pool expert in the store. He has over 20 years experience and is a pleasure to work with. He has rebuilt my pool sweep, sold me new hoses for the pool sweep and given me tons of advice on water testing, chemicals, cleaning my salt cell, etc. When something is beyond my skill set (like a bad electrical connection), their service team is happy to help. And guess who is on the service team? The two owners of the store! We had a 12 year old pump and 10 year old heater go out. We also decided to add automation as well so we could control everything from our phones. Cody was super responsive and easy to deal with. Absolute WORST customer service I've ever witnessed, from the owner (Cody) himself. As an Escondido native I wanted to support a local, mom & pop type shop when I came across The Pool Supply Store ( aka MurrElls Services Inc. ) . Counter person ( Vince) was VERY knowledgeable. Sadly though, after his pitch he turns you over to the most arrogant, impatient, agitated business owner (Cody) I've ever met. 2 years of business together and this man HANGS up on me like a little child over a simple miscommunication regarding a sometimes 'locked' gate for access to pool. Cody has always preferred communication via text or email and now I know why. He belongs nowhere near "customer service" relations. In previous months he had mentioned he is short staffed (employees quitting, etc) as are many businesses over the long last 2 years/Covid. I was completely understanding and patient. Upon asking him to CALL me regarding recent missed services ( 2 consecutive weeks = algae), I had NO intention of discontinuing their services. I was shocked a simple phone would result in such anger and agitation from his side. Cody , the owner, was clearly agitated, on guard, and confrontational from the moment he said hello. We paid for the premium services package only to be treated like a second-class citizen. Many business owners today are facing troubles of finding good help but his business owner's problems start with the owner himself. Also note that my first in store transaction with this place began with a $600 pool sweep that was supposed to include a $100 rebate. 2 years later, NO REBATE and Cody was very dismissive, no help at all. Wish ya'll could see every text (saved) I've ever had with this man. Reason being there is NOTHING that would ever have you believe I deserved to be treated with a " today is your last service. Find a new service!" - hang up ! I've never met him in person but beware that this is the type of customer service he provides. God forbid a customer would need to discuss anything with him.
