If I could give this person a zero star rating, I would. Theresa stopped by for a first visit and…read morethen yelled at my dad that our pool wasn't filled enough for her. She then left immediately and left our back gate entirely open, we have dogs, which were obvious. Saying she'd be back tomorrow. We bought the house 5 years ago. I answered the door and she said she had worked with the previous owner 10 years ago and knows where things are and headed to one of the gates. She never mentioned working for us before and I did not recognize her. I went outside after grabbing my dads cane for him, while he was going to go over things with her and she was gone. The attached photo is her message to my dad after yelling and abruptly leaving. From what I remember, from 5 years ago from one show, if it was her. She always had conflicts and issues, and just showed up the one time, kept flaking on us with a lot of excuses. This lady is just unprofessional. Who yells at someone about their pool being low (it was full to the point where it has always recommended to be), leaves with the gates open, says they'll be back the next day, and sends a message like this? And if the was the same pool person before that showed up once and came up with excuses to ever come back. Why even come back? You knew the house. Just cancel instead of yelling at a man with medical issues and immediately leaving.

She is a complete professional and also had to do a dive in our pool to hand pick out some larger debris and it was for the same hourly rate as normal cleaning. I don't just consider her my pool cleaner she has became a good friend as she often show up with her delicious little treats and great knowledge of pools. Thank you for being my friend and pool cleaner

Absolutely great service and support from this crew! I use them exclusively for my pool needs…read more Knowledgeable and helpful! I get my chemicals, replacement pump system parts, advise and water testing from this awesome team!!! For sure a treat to deal with.

I do not recommend The Pool & Spa House for pool maintenance, repair, or product sales. Despite…read moretheir many retail locations, their knowledge of pool equipment and proper maintenance is extremely limited, and they frequently recommend unnecessary services and expensive replacements. We used them for years simply because we didn't know better. One of our earliest red flags should have been when we hired them to balance our water. Two days later, the pool was completely cloudy and burned everyone's eyes. I watched the technician pour in gallons of muriatic acid -- something I now know will crash pH to unsafe levels. That was our first clue that they were not the experts they claimed to be. We continued using them, even replacing an expensive piece of equipment at their recommendation. But the final straw was when our heater stopped working and displayed a "lo flow" error. Hayward heaters can throw that error for many reasons -- up to 13 different causes -- yet the technician didn't even check the heater. He took one quick visual look around and immediately tried to convince me that I needed to replace the sand in our filter, which costs thousands of dollars. When I repeatedly asked him to actually inspect the heater (the actual equipment with the error), he reluctantly opened it, said he "didn't see anything wrong," and then became rude, aggressive, and defensive about his "years of experience." After he left, we called another company. They found the real issue in minutes: the flow switch simply needed adjustment. If I had listened to the Pool & Spa House tech, I would have spent thousands of dollars and still had a broken heater. Their retail stores are also extremely predatory. They refuse to sell basic pool chemicals unless you provide your full address and personal information -- something they claim is "policy," even though it's not required by any state or federal regulation. It's simply for tracking and upselling. I still tried to buy from them to support local business, but even when I tried to buy stabilizer they argued with me about the amount I wanted, tried to push additional products I didn't need, and eventually refused to sell to me when I declined to give my address. People should know: you don't need all the specialized products they push. You can easily maintain your own pool using the Trouble Free Pool method with basic chemicals like borax, muriatic acid, chlorine, and baking soda -- all available at local locations that carry pool supplies like Ace Hardware in Happy Valley and Milwaukie for much less. What you do need is a company that can diagnose equipment issues correctly and honestly. For that, go to Classic Pool Spa & Hearth. Their technicians actually know what they're doing, they don't upsell, and they've saved us money and unnecessary repairs. I will say the people who answer the service line at The Pool & Spa House are very kind -- but unfortunately, kindness doesn't make up for poor training, aggressive sales tactics, and inaccurate technical advice.

Don't even bother calling this place! You'll just be wasting your time. My wife has tried many…read moretimes and they keep saying they will help out and get back to her and nothing. I feel like there's a lot of pool companies in the area and I've yet to find one that is actually willing to do anything. I told my son he needs to start a pool business and actually help your customers and you'll be the busiest one in town and the only one that's willing to work. Complete insanity!

I guess this company hires men that are verbally abusive and steal services from small businesses…read more A recent hire of theirs, Scott Smith has stolen $700 in petcare services I had provided him. I'm sharing this review to highlight the character of an employee at Anderson, because I certainly wouldn't want someone like this working in, near, or around my home. When I tried to receive payment from Scott for a months worth of petcare, he evaded and avoided over and over. He would "no show" or give excuses for an entire month. I was watching his dog unpaid, he wasn't bringing food for the dog or getting vet care when the dog had an injury. I was paying out of pocket to feed his dog. I voiced my complaints, Then he got aggressive and threatening. ....he eventually became so hostile he threatened to physically "slap the taste out of my mouth" and he threatened to "ruin my life" by reporting me to my apartment manager (in an attempt to get me evicted) He also threatened to contact the company i contract from in order to get me terminated. This is an employee representing Anderson. This is a person you may allow in your home if you choose this company. I was called every name in the book ( which I can't include in this review), and he brought up my past trauma in an attempt to hurt and upset me. All because I watched his dog for OVER a month, never received my $700 payment, tried to get payment, and I then complained about it. That's a short temper, that's really vindictive and hateful behavior. That's a person that works for Anderson. If he can act like that outside of work, I can only imagine what he could steal from the company he works at... or how he could treat coworkers or clients when his temper comes out . That's someone representing your company???? What happens if a customer gets mistreated when he's in a bad mood that day? What happens if he steals something from a client? None of my friends or family will be looking to use Anderson for any pool or hot tub services. I will make sure of it and it will be passed along. Please hire better people. People that are kind and honest.
